  1. If any one gets left out it should be these 2. Ensworth's first year for any official football and St. Benedicts mostly likely to finish 2-8.. You can make a case for leaving out BGA and Briarcrest also Division II Class AA Del Ensworth High School Nashville, TN Del St. Benedict at Auburndale Cordova, TN Polls for west and East/middle works to
  2. Are you sure about the Knox Webb at JPII? ... JPII was home last year against Webb. And who is Westwood?
  3. 8/24............? (My Guess Greenbrier) (Home) 8/31............Father Ryan (home) 9/7..............? Guess Knox Webb (away) 9/14............? Guess Goodpasture (away) 9/21............MBA (home) 9/28............?Open? 10/5............BA (Away) 10/12..........Ensworth (home) 10/19..........? Guess Franklin Co.(Home) Hopefully Not 10/26..........? Guess (Baylor/McCallie) (Away) 11/02..........? Who Knows Maybe Hendersonville, Beech or Gallatin We Know it will also have to include 2 of the Following Knox Webb Baylor McCallie The 4 I am sure of come from their schedules that are posted. Any help filling in the Guesses would be great. Dhack
  4. JPII put together a solid 2nd half of football last night. If they can play like that for 2 halves they can beat Goodpasture. Still way too many mistakes on getting in the right formation and way too many penalties for a JPII team. If Goodpasture doubles Golden it opens up the middle for the run. If they dont then watch out. Should be a fun / exciting game either way. JPII 38...GP 27
  5. What were you watching. The 3rd TD after the snap ther is no Greenbrier D-line left in the picture where Golden ran through. Golden is a Good back because he sees the holes as they open. A good line will open a hole maybe not in the exact location but its the backs job to read where it is. The 1nd and 4th TD's were all Tate the other 2 you have to give some credit to the Line!
  6. Well.. Courtney Coffey plays linebacker now, and the Oline has some beef They probably average 255lbs. Watch the 3rd touchdown on schoolsportsradio.com the Oline had a real nice 3 yard push on the Dline of Greenbier; Tate had a hole anybody could have run through.... maybe not scored..lol.. but run through.
  7. This game should go down to the wire. Nerves and emotion will keep it scoreless into the second half. Unless FR is foolish enough to punt the ball to Tate. JPII's front Oline takes over in the forth quarter and FR gets a dose of Cortney Coffee up the gut and Drives down for the winning FG. JPII..10 FR.....7

    Most used Defense

Pretty much my point on the 5-2. I see many teams with the beef in the middle of the line but light weight ends and aggresive backers. Its hard for a young player not to take that first step towards the ball and ends up out of position very quickly. In theory it is a great scheme but you need very strong, quick and disciplined players.
  9. Cant seem to find any news on the camp that you dont have to pay for. Anybody got any good links?. Or any news
  10. ESPN Recruit Tracker Name.......................HS..............ESPN Score Golden Tate ............ JPII .............83 Todd Campbell ........ Franklin .........83 Roderick Davis ........Wooddale........82
  11. Wondering what the most used HS defense is out there. In My day it was either a 5-3 or a 4-4 stack. I know thing have changed. So is it the 5-2 (with a SS) or 4-3 or 3-4 or something else? I personally dont like the 5-2 for HS ball, unless you have some strong ends and a great nose-tackle. The Wing-t type offenses seem to eat it up.
  12. No... not all of them. Ensworth will not compete for the Title until 2007. JPII and St. Benedicts will have moved up to D2 AAA by then. I would Have to say that this years preseason D2AA polls should look something like this. 1. ECS 2. JPII 3. Webb 4. BGA 5. St. Bene 6. Harding

    GOLDEN TATE

I agree Reggie is almost inhuman. The most exciting Player I have ever seen on a football field. I have watched many of Tates Games and he is the most exciting HS palyer I have seen in some time. with a little research I found ESPN has Tate ranked with a grade of 83 for the class of 2007, if he has another star season I'm sure that grade will increase. Maybe not to the Rare Prospect level of a Reggie Bush, but good enough to play for any top level DI team that has a shot at a NC 80-89: Outstanding Prospect Player has the ability to create mismatches against most opponents. He is a player that could be a contributor as a true freshman. 90-100: Rare Prospect Player demonstrates rare abilities and can create mismatches that have an obvious impact on the game. Is a player that has all the skills to take over a game and could be an impact player as a true freshman http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/...d2007%26set%3d2

    GOLDEN TATE

All I will say is this Reggie Bush 5' 11" 200lbs...40yd dash..4.35 returns kicks, punts, WR and Tail back as a JR in HS had 3135 all purpose yards & 34 touchdowns. Golden Tate 5' 11" 180lbs...40yd Dash..4.42 Returns kicks, punts, WR and Tail back as Jr in HS had 2400 all purpose yards and 24 touch downs. Not Including his interceptions and punting If on a scale of 1-100 Reggie Bush is a 95 than Golden has to rank around a 85-87 good enough to play on primetime Saturdays and I expect we will see him on Sundays as well. 15. I hope to see a reversal of last year. Webb came to JPII and Lost in the Reg Season. Then came back with a 5-5 record and Beat JPII in the 1st round. JPII lost in reg season goes back to knoxville & beats Webb 32-28 Dhack
  16. Franklin Co. Coaches should be retired. They have one of the Quickest backs in the area. But they insist on trying to run him up the middle. At the JPII game it was up the middle all the time. If they get him to a corner watch out. Who you have to watch out for is the Nose Guard About 6-2 295 and quick off the balland strong as an ox. Needs to be doubled. If you take care of him the rest are pretty average.
  17. Any Private entity can sue the state. The state is providing a service and You have to Pay the TSSAA to join and stay a member. Once they take your money your in the club. If they are sued it will be for Descrimination and bias against members it has let in.
  18. Ok I agree Drop the Multiplier. Why the Heck would the Privates even need the TSSAA. The whole deal is if you let the privates in the league you must let them all play by the same league rules. Its not just a question of their own regions or divisions or classes. You must let them in or Kick them out of the league.... By the way BullDog the state of Tennessee and its counties spend $6500/year per student to send a kid to public school and when they need or want extra money they just raise your taxes. Dhack
  19. Indian Travel is an issue...I looked at your post from Dec 27 2004 - 08:35 PM and it does not cut down on travel at all. You have Knoxville Teams traveling to Chattanooga , Sewanee to Clarksville, Collierville to Jackson. Why should any team have to travel more than 1 hour to play anybody. And you didn’t even address the AAA teams just tossed them all into one big group. Hey Lots of travel savings there! Your point on Private schools just wanting to continue to beat public schools is also unjustified. Private schools Serve a market, they do not choose the area in which they build because of the poor athletics of surrounding schools. They choose the area to fill a need that public schools can't or will not fill. Whether it be a religious or educational standard that is lacking in the area public school. People don’t send their children to these schools because they have a good football team. They do however encourage participation, something the public schools don’t do. I believe in the Public school system I am a graduate of a public system. There are several great public school systems in the state unfortunately not everyone can live in an area that has a great system. And those that can afford to take their children out of the Lousy systems probably will. From your Posts I can tell your a public grad I would say about 28-30 years old. Have Any Kids yet? I challenge you to Take a Visit to Gallatin, McGavock Lebanon, or Clarksville High schools spend a few days, Talk to the officers that roam the halls and man the doors. Then go to JPII, DCA, Goodpasture, and Clarksville Acad. then come back and tell me where you would send your kids
  20. Check out the TSSAA Site They have a bulleten board of open positions. http://www.tssaa.org/newspages/classifieds.cfm
  21. Not a Bad Idea But thier are a few issues. Northern KY already has a Semi-seperate league and they dont care if a school is private or public, aid or nonaid they all play under the same league no problems. http://www.kentucky.ihigh.com/nkac. It has 270 member schools. The Parent KHSAA only has about 220 Schools So this would eliminate a large number of teams from your mix. KY is a common wealth state wich means the Government has their fingers in everything even independent schools..They eventually have to answer to the state KHSAA and I dont think a league from TN with no state controlls would go over very well in a state where even the seperate league has to answer to the state league. Travel is they Key(I Mean Money).. Currently only teams that are traveling across state are the DIV II Teams. Thats only 26 teams and nobody but those schools and parents (Like ME) of kids in DivII really care. The defection from DivII of Goodpasture, Knox-Catholic & Notre Dame and others show that AD's would rather save the $$$'s, Decrease the risks of long trips and take the chance on winning a few less games. Thier schools are full and they have waiting lists to get in. They will draw bigger crowds (More Money)to their home games if the games are regional. Other than the behind the scenes talk and complaints I dont think you'll see too many of the private schools fighting the multiplier or looking to form a independent league. Even If it was 2.5 I think they would bend over and take it.. I do think you will see the Public schools and those like "Antwan" keep pushing for a total split since there is no benefit for them not too. I think to solve this problem you have to follow the money. Throw out Parity, Fairness, Nondescrimination, Competition, Sportsmanship and any other good quality Highschool sports is about and get down to good old fashion American GREED. Here is how it will end. 1. Privates band together and Sue the TSSAA for megamillions over discrimination.. Hit them in the pocket book and cause the split and a independent league is formed or the end of DIVII & the mulitplier (dont look for this anytime soon)...or 2. Give the Public Schools some kind of Financial (they already get my taxes)or other type of incentives to play private schools and they will shut up for a while.(Basic Extortion) Dhack
  22. I didnt Believe it would come to this but it has. If BGA beats Harding it Looks like they will be #4 in the Division with a 3-7 record and 2 division wins. If they lose they are out. Harding is already in with 5 wins. Next weeks game Webb vs ECS will decide who is #1 in divII AA. I think Webb will win against ECS I would Guess If BGA does Win it would go something like this. Nov. 4 Quarterfinals #4BGA (Hoast)vs #5Harding.... Webb, ECS, #3JPII BYE Nov. 11 Semifinals #1 vs winner of #4 vs#5 #2 vs JPII Nov. 19 Finals If BGA get knocked out next week it makes for a real easy bracket Quaterfinals #1 vs Harding #2 vs JPII Semifinals BYE for both teams Finals This is the best I can tell of course
