  1. Can't this thread be closed? As a former Centennial football player and a big Tennessee high school football fan, I'm a bit disgusted by the entire discussion. Put down the gloves. The season is over. Let's enjoy two more rounds of football and stop bickering.
  2. Can anyone share details about how the game went down?
  3. I'm very much over all of this trash talk... Will there be an internet broadcast of this game or anything?
  4. That brings up a great question, Barca. What are the rules for Red Cards for TSSAA? I know HHS received at least one, and yet after a few minutes they were back up to 11 players and played that way throughout the rest of the game.
  5. Who all is heading up there tomorrow? I'll be coming up with my mum and fiance. Go Cougars!
  6. It's not Continental. Way to fail at giving your opponent credit.
  7. Well done Centennial My Alma Mater has made me proud. And I'm making the trip on Friday. I wouldn't miss this for the world.
  8. As a former Centennial player, I am absolutely thrilled for this time. Any updates? If Centennial can pull this off, I'm making a trip to the 'Boro Friday.
  9. He can't. Offensive linemen don't have true statistical categories to base themselves off of. It's an award, get over it folks.
  10. I'm good, thanks. The last thing I need to hear on these boards are pre-pubescent children making fun of kickers.
  11. Obviously he does, you idiot, and so do I. I know you're trying the oh so clever "Who needs a kicker they are so stupid haha I am funny" shtick, but do yourself a favor and simply stop it.
  12. You mean weekends, when these players need to be studying for school? As much money as these teams would get, most of it would go straight into transportation fees, food, hotels, etc.
  13. There is this thing called school that these football players have to go to, which is by far the first priority. Not gonna happen, and it shouldn't. 14. I have no problem stating that Brentwood and Franklin have superior programs. And here is my argument. MVP means Most Valuable Player, and in relations to the team a player plays on, no player has meant more to his team than Chaz Scales. That's what the award is, the technical definition. Both Franklin and Brentwood had multiple players that were very crucial to their runs. For Centennial, the buck began and stopped with Mr. Scales. Is that "logical" enough for you? Do you know what logical means? Can you bring up a point that doesn't involve kissing the tails of either Brentwood or Franklin?
  15. ...Or it shows that we're still a relatively young program who had a crappy coach for a decade. But thanks for playing. Obviously, the coaches of some of the aforementioned programs you listed disagree with you. You know better, though, right? It's cute how you continue to use the same, stale argument that has been defused by multiple users in this forum. Face it, champ, you're wrong. Incorrect. etc. Accept it and move on.
  16. Didn't Chaz lead to wins over Independence, Ravenwood, Siegel and Gallatin? Oh, but those are all shrimps. Hmm. Furthermore, to say he "failed" is to state that everyone who didn't win the state championship failed, which includes Brentwood and Franklin. The definition of failure is relative to each team, based on their past, as well as the team they have in front of them. By the standards of Centennial's football history, this was far from a failing season. Centennial was not projected to even make the playoffs, and yet we qualified with our highest seeding in school history. True, we don't have the prestige of other programs, but not every high school can claim the high standards that you seem to enjoy. Oh, and two other things: It's "loser", and if Chaz "Choked" in every definition of the word, does that include the definition: To interfere with the respiration of by compression or obstruction of the larynx or trachea? Please don't make statements that, in retrospect, make no sense whatsoever. Let me make this clear for you: You are not clever, you are not funny, and you are not correct.
  17. I only need to use one name as an example: Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow won the Heisman last year with 3 losses. Why? Because he was the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. I don't know how you could argue he wasn't a difference maker. Centennial's team wouldn't have gone 8-4 without Mr. Scales. Now please, go crawl back under the rock you came from.
  18. Congrats to Oakland. That run game was beastly.
  19. Well, they scheduled Antioch, Smyrna, Overton, Lawrence County and Columbia as their out of region schedule, so that won't help much. I like the idea of playing tough teams to get better, but it certainly wont equal a lot of wins.
  20. Keep in mind that Centennial was expected to finish 5th or 6th in the region this year. It's hard to tell this early. Like I've said, this schedule is tough, and 7-3 would be a great season for them. I'm still not 100% sure how these new playoffs work, but we'll find that out in due time.
  21. I would put Bates in front of Steele, only because Bates did EVERYTHING for that team. That schedule is definitely tough, and will be a measuring stick for the Cougars. Anyone know who will be replacing the departing seniors?
  22. Another season done, and what a season it was. So what do we have to look forward to next year? Schedule, new starters, etc. Please add your two cents!
  23. I really think this game will be closer than everyone is saying. Both of these teams bring incredible defenses, and that always calls for a great game. I think Franklin takes it, but in a close game going into the 4th quarter.
  24. What can I say? My computer loves me so much it wants me to say things twice as much.
