  1. Well you know what they say, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". I really would like to know if all of the rumors and rumblings have any merit to them. In the latest, why did Stevens really pull the quarterback that scored the touchdown in the game with the Owls? But there are several problems that have been brought up. Is it that bad, or are we just disgusted with how the season has turned out? Let's here what you think...
  2. I don’t mean to be so dismal, however if Oak Ridge loses to Farragut this Friday, Coach Stevens win / loss percentage (see below) will put the Wildcats at the lowest it has been since the 1940’s. I understand that he has only been here for two years. I understand that the 1992 team suffered a similar fate after going to and winning state in 1991. I understand that he lost his starting quarterback. I understand that the Wildcats are “young” this year. However, the numbers don’t lie. I don’t know if it is time to hit the panic button, but I do think it is time to determine what has happened and what needs to be done to fix the problems. Of course, this is not the place to do it. We all say that, but where and when is the place to do it? I have been a Wildcat fan for many decades and I have never had this feeling of discontent that I do today. Let’s pull together and determine what needs to be done and move forward. Coach (Titles) Year / W - L - T = % Ben Martin (1) 1943-1947 / 23 - 18 - 1 = 55.95% Buist Warren 1948-1951 / 30 - 10 - 2 = 73.81% John Francis 1952-1954 / 24 - 3 - 3 = 85.00% Jack Armstrong (4) 1955-1968 / 105 - 28 - 5 = 77.90% Emory Hale (3) 1969-1980 / 112 - 23 - 0 = 82.96% Bill Young 1981-1987 / 57 - 21 - 0 = 73.08% Joe Gaddis (1) 1988-1998 / 119 - 24 - 0 = 83.22% Bruce Lussier 1999- 2004 / 62 - 14 - 0 = 81.58% Stanton Stevens 2005-Present / 18 - 7 - 0 = 72.00% Grand Totals W L T % 550 - 148 - 11 = 78.35%
  3. What a sad group of fans Maryville has. If your team is really all that, why don't you guys start scheduling some out of state teams? I think everyone agrees that Maryville has a good program and maybe some good fans, but for the most part, just plain obnoxious. If all of these in state teams bore you so much, there are plenty of USA Today ranked teams nearby that would love to schedule your beloved Rebels. Just please spare us of your all mighty presence and move on. Did your mommy not hold you enough when you were a child? Did you see your dad dress up in a dress? What ever issues you have, good luck, but try to get some help.
  4. We deal with the same thing every other year from our “friends” in Clinton. All I can tell you is that I hope you guys catch who did this and make them pay for their actions. I hope that we will get to see the chief during round four this coming season (Oak Ridge vs. Riverdale). Good luck with the new coach, the new system, and hopefully catching who vandalized your facilities.
  5. You are amazing!!! I have tried to stay out of this as long as I can. However, I used to really want to pull for Maryville and wish them the best each year just because I thought their coach and program were first class. All of that has changed. This fall and every fall after that, I will be pulling for Oak Ridge and who ever is playing Maryville on Friday nights. You guys are the most conceited group of fans that I have ever seen and I'm from Oak Ridge. I know that when Maryville finally makes their way to 5A they will be just as competitive and well coached as they are in 4A. But guys come on; put the crack pipe down when you get on this site. Maryville will get the opportunity to prove themselves against the best that 5A has to offer. If they clean everyone’s clock like they have in 4A, a lot of people will have to eat a lot of crow, but I will be very surprised if that is how it unfolds. Regardless of all that, it is a shame that I cannot pull for my neighbor anymore because some of their fans make it impossible to want them to win. Enjoy you last few years in 4A heaven, because when your time is up, you will be in 5A h#ll.
  6. That is the most intelligent post I have read on this thread. No disrespect to anyone else’s opinion, but really that is how we should look at it. Best of luck to Maryville in 4A this year and best of luck to Oak Ridge in 5A. We will have to wait until 2009 to get the opportunity to see who wins this one head to head.
  7. Guys, you are killing me… I do not think that either side is going to budge much here. Really, the only thing that I see you guys doing is blowing hot air. I am a long time Oak Ridge Fan, but that does not mean that I want Maryville to do bad. Remember, the kids that will be playing in 2009 are in 7th grade right now, we have a long way to go before we can talk smack that is going to count for anything. Anyway, sounds like the only way to settle this is to play some real games, under real conditions. I know that Maryville is going to be successful in 5A. I know that Oak Ridge is going to continue to be successful in 5A. The point I am trying to make is until 2009, we can do one of two things: 1.) Act like the proud and respected traditions that we all have worked very hard to establish and maintain. -or- 2.) Act like a freak parade coming down Main Street. Choice is yours...
  8. I think this topic was originaly asking who the top teams in 5A and 4A were going to be. It's real early but, here are my predictions for 5A and 4A.... For 5A Champion Region 1 - Kingsport D-B Champion Region 2 - Oak Ridge Champion Region 3 - Cookeville Champion Region 4 - Riverdale Champion Region 5 - Gallatin Champion Region 6 - Brentwood Champion Region 7 - Ridgeway Champion Region 8 - Germantown Wildcard - Smyrna For 4A Champion Region 1 - Sullivan South Champion Region 2 - Morristown West Champion Region 3 - Maryville Champion Region 4 - Red Bank Champion Region 5 - Hillsboro Champion Region 6 - Beech Champion Region 7 - Memphis East Champion Region 8 - Melrose Wildcard - Henry Co.
  9. You know after all the “smack talking” that you read on a lot of other threads, it is so nice to read about two teams (Oak Ridge and DB) that have a true respect for each other and really just like to play each other in football… Anyway, all of the Wildcats are looking forward to September when we will get that chance to lock up again. As for my second favorite team in the state (DB), good luck and I hope you guys have a great year.
  10. Has it come to this? I, just like every Oak Ridge fan has respect for the Maryville program and what they have accomplished. However, some of the posts on this thread (from both sides) only show that some people really need more fiber in their diet or less caffeine. All that is being accomplished here is not a reflection of both of our fine programs. This thread needs to be put on hold until the fall of 2009 and then I’m sure it will be great for the build up of “The Game” that we all would like to see. But for now, let’s focus on this fall and what has to be done to prepare for it.
  11. I thought that if I broke the ice, people would agree. There have been a lot of teams that have put together very nice runs. This state is packed full of schools that are very proud of there schools, sports programs and communities. And for good reason. However, Riverdale is different from Oak Ridge, Montgomery Bell Academy, Brentwood Academy, Chattanooga Central, Kingsport DB, Maryville, Alcoa, Battle Ground Academy (Just to name a few) ...Riverdale only has four state titles, and they all have five or more.
  12. Since no one else will say it.... Will you please stop being so full of yourselves. Yes Riverdale has had some good teams in the past, but you guys act like if you don't say so, the sun will not rise. Good luck this year........with your therapy on how to deal with losing a game or two.
  13. Thanks for your concern, however I like Oak Ridge’s position better that both of yours… Time will tell, but I am sure that Oak Ridge will be developing a quarterback that fits the system we have in place. Good luck with the new system at Riverdale and good luck with filling the holes left by graduation at Farragut. See you this fall and……
  14. Neither Oak Ridge nor Ooltewah is a “Knoxville Team”
  15. I keep hearing that LaVergne and Smyrna are both going to be better this year. Being from East Tennessee, we don’t get to hear much about them. What is the real scoop on these two? Do they have what is takes to “Stop the Chop”? Just wondering what you guys think…
  16. It’s real early, but for what it’s worth, here my pick’s for this coming year… Champion Region 1 - Kingsport D-B Champion Region 2 - Oak Ridge Champion Region 3 - Cookeville Champion Region 4 - Riverdale Champion Region 5 - Gallatin Champion Region 6 - Brentwood Champion Region 7 - Ridgeway Champion Region 8 - Germantown Wildcard - Smyrna Wildcard - Ooltewah Roll Wildcats Roll!!!
  17. Please don't call the Oak Ridge Game a "Fluke", it takes away from the reality of the truth. I have seen each Oak Ridge / Riverdale game and I can tell you that out of those games, Riverdale has been “that much better” maybe two possibly three times. Were the other times just “Flukes” from Oak Ridges perspective? Also, since you guys like to compare with Oak Ridge, look at number 6, 27, 58, 75, 149, 265, 300, 328, 421 and 427 on the list below. It should give us a perspective on where we each rank in the big picture. Fluke….PLEASE, you were outplayed. 18. Well stated. I love the smell of napalm in the morning… Roll Wildcats Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Like I said, this is just a prediction. Good luck to both teams (Just a little more for Oak Ridge), they both have a lot to be proud of.
  20. Another projection from calprep.com. Thus far in the playoffs, these guys have been fairly accurate. However, it is just a prediction, is it Saturday yet????? 5A CHAMPIONSHIP Oak Ridge (TN) vs. Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN) at Middle Tennessee State U. (Murfreesboro, TN), 7:00pm [projection: Oak Ridge (TN) 28-17]
  21. Just in case anyone is looking for a prediction... Based on the recent performance of both teams, unapproved website.com predicts that Oak Ridge (TN) will beat Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN) on 12/3/2005 with a final score of 28 - 17.
  22. Has anyone seen the Cal Prep prediction for this game? Just wondering, they have been fairly accurate so far during the playoffs.
  23. 2 Days, 4 Hours, 24 Minutes and 10 Seconds until kick-off, but who counting (ha ha)... Roll Wildcats Roll!!!!!!!!!!
