I have watched most of them grow from 5 year olds to fine young men with bright futures. Five of the six have signed college scholarships, 4 in baseball and 1 for football. As a parent of one I have grown to love each and every one, each are competors, each are hard workers and will do great both in baseball,football and life. SO heres my salute to you Matthew Allen, Ryan Qualls, Brandon Bean, Will Phillips, Hayden Browder, and Mike Hammons. THANKS

If Polk doesn't learn to relax and play it may be the end, but if they play the way they did most of the year they will compete with anyone. So with that said I'm going with Polk 4-3 because I like Polk's pitching and defense (even though they had a rare off night in the district championship).

Dont forget the fact that Polk beat Meigs 4 times this year. Not to mention the FACT that his Dad was wearing blue and sitting with the Mcminn Central fans last night.

Different situation than this thread was started for but anyway. Player 1 starts a game both in the field and in the batting order, the second time Player 1 is scheduled to hit the coach anounnces player 2 will PH and Player 1 will re-enter. When the half inning is over Player 3 takes Player 1's spot on defense. That spot in the batting order didn't come up the next at bat, but the next time on defense Player 1 was back out at originial spot and hit for himself the next time up. Is this legal?

I don't like rumors either so heres the facts: Polk's field was to wet to safely play that Monday, as it was raining/sleeting at 430pm. As to the beaning incident YES the Polk hitter was hit on purpose(the coach made a mound visit to deliver his instructions), and NO the Boyd hitter was NOT hit on purpose (Polk pitcher was a Freshman although a good pitcher lacks control ask Ooltewah he hit four in a row. As for the home run it was debatable the ump admitted he never seen the ball

To put this rumor to rest, Phillips (who threw on Tuesday at Boyd) had not threw since the previous Tuesday against Brainerd. Bean who was scheduled to pitch on Tuesday, before the rain out, had not thrown since the previous Thursday against Meigs. Both were good to go on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. The only pitcher unavailable was a freshman who beat Ooltewah on the previous Saturday. This is FACT, no rumor about it.

Are the games tonight (Friday) 4/11 still on ?

If memory serves me lose 3 out of the offensive backfield (QB,FB,HB), 2 OL; defense is where the will be hit hardest--1DT,both DE's, both ILB's, 1 C, 1S; But their JV and freshman teams had sucessful seasons last year that might help some.

Anyone got any news on the who, when, etc.?

Who did best at each venue ? Walker Valley looked good and Polk looked pretty good at times at Grace. Graces (seemingly)short fences helped every ones hitting I think.

Polk County has one of the best back drops that you could hope to see just a the foot of Chilhowee.

Any updates from the court system? Whats the Mcminn County school board policy on this type of issue?

A little off topic but how did the rest of the district do? and who was it against?

what teams played ? which teams looked good at this play day? was there any standouts ?

How could any team be favored except Mcminn Central with 8 of 9 starters back along with the entire pitching staff returning. MC also has some very talented new comers to add to the mix. My pick for player of the year is also form MC Dylan Coleman, probaly the best talent in the district.
