  3. Can anyone else validate this? Are you saying you cant combine the Hope scholarship and a soccer scholarship? This would not make sense. Academic scholarships are combined with the Hope now, so whats the difference.

Thank you. Thank you. I had faith that the Siegel girls could pull it off and they did. I'm still pinching myself. What a great run for the girls. This is something they will remember for the rest of their lives. I'm most impress with how they played as a team. Yes they have individual talent but they did not depend on one person to pull them through it. I think they all really enjoyed their time with each other and the friendships. They will take these life lessons and be better people for it. Job well done girls!
  5. What a week for Siegel Lady Stars. The parents are exhausted but would admit it was extreem fun. The Houston state quarterfinal game came down to a winning goal in the last 5 seconds of the game. The Franklin state semifinal game goes into double overtime and then PKs. Then today Siegel goes up 2-0 in the second half of the state championship game only to watch Dana drill a shot with 10 minutes in the game to bring it to 2-1. But Siegel does an outstanding job of running the remaining time off the clock with long clearing balls to the far corners and running it to the corners and holding the ball. Brentwood is a excellent team, Siegel was on a roll over the last two weeks and peaked at the right time. Congratulations Siegel Lady Stars the 2008 AAA State Soccer Champions.

Lets get back on topic here. (I'd like to boast abit about the incredible insight that both timbdp and I (BRSoccer) had in choosing a Brentwood V. Siegel in the State Final. Would some please add up the points. I'm sure everyone is going to pick Brentwood as the favorite, in fact I'd like for Brentwood to score the first goal in the game........Siegel likes that for some weird reason. GO STARS!!!
  8. There is no doubt that Siegel has had the toughest road to the Championship game. Comeback wins against Houston and Franklin this team has shown an incredible ability to step up its game when up against the wall. Lead by seniors Maggie Trollenger, Sydney Dewberry, Kim Conrad, Brandy Phillips and Hayley Sloan this team has shown the ability to do what it takes to win. Also this senior group has been to the State Tournament the last four years. Congratulations Siegel Lady Stars and bring home the state title on Saturday!!!

Siegel 2-1 over Houston Pretty dramatic game. Lots of long runs by Houston by their #25. Siegel had numerous chances early but could not finish. Houston scores first in the first half and they certainly had the momentum. Siegel's Kim Conrad ties it up about midway in the second half. Both teams have their chances and it appears that the game will go into over time and with less than 10 seconds on the clock Hayley Sloan sends a pass up to a streaking Kayla Ernst who goes one on one with Houston's keeper and Kayla drives the ball low and past the keeper into the net. The game was very rough and I thought along with many others that the center ref was missing a ton of fouls. In fact the game almost got out of hand. Congratulation Lady Stars.

3-0 Franklin I thought this would be a closer game but Franklin pretty much dominated the first half getting 3 goals and held on to it through the second half.

1-9?? No Brentwood 1-0 over Collierville Second half was a bit sloppy but Brentwood held it together long enough to get the win.

They also lost to Siegel 1-0 in the Hendersonville tournament.
  13. I would second that. My daughter has played select soccer with and against the girls you describe and I was ROFL at the description. Also I think the term "ball hawk" is actually "ball hog". Is sounds like FRA spanked your team and I wish them well in the state tournament. They should bring home the state title again.

  15. Here was my prediction from September, Only missed DB beating Bearden in Sectional. Final 4 will depend somewhat on how the blind draw goes. I'm I correct that they wont match up teams from the same region in the first round?
  16. No thats got to be a mistake. I will try to verify. Should be Saturday Night 7pm.
  17. Siegel and Riverdale was a battle, always is. I thought we were toast when Riverdale scored late in the game but the Siegel girls fought back to tie it up with about 3 mins left and then to find another one in overtime. I do predict Riverdale to beat Soddy and who knows we could see a 4th round in the state tournment (But Siegel needs to take first care of business with Cleveland on Saturday). Best of luck to you too mr300bowl. (Unless of course we see you again next week) /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  20. No Robotman your right. I'm a Siegel fan and I would rather be playing Columbia in the boro than Shelbyville at Shelbyville. I would expect a tough game with half of Shelbyville in the stands.
  21. Are you sure about Monday. I was told by Siegel Coaches that it would be Tuesday.
  22. Let me reprint a post made earlier this season by "leftfooter" it was classic..... Why there was a "Canes" Mutiny! Top 10 Reasons (1) Canes only sees one perspective, HIS. A jury has 12 votes, CoachT has 1. (2) He is always right, so don't waste our time with rebuttals. (3) Colliersville is the best HS team, so don't blow you horn about OR or ND or Seagul. The score for OR was 2, no matter if they were own goals. The score book says 2, not bad 2, sloppy 2, ugly 2, unhappy 2, IT'S TWO!!!! (4) His team plays the toughest schedule, so don't post yours and expect him to feel your pain. (5) Colliersville won the state once recently, so they should win every year. (6) Your team should not win, because they are not Colliersville. (7) Colliersville's away schedule is tougher than yours. (8) Canes knows Germantown Houston better than those who are part of the team. (9) Canes is the reason you never hear from anyone else in the WEST. And finally, (10) Every high school (public and private) should build their own perfect size soccer stadium, even if they don't have any ground available, or extra funds for soccer, or over 2,200 kids in high school whose soccer parents think like Canes and can financially support anything they want to build. I think Colliersville is the largest public High School in the State of Tennessee, if not Canes will tell me who is, so they have a huge base from which to build a team, a stadium, and thus they are the BEST. Respectfully, Another Einstein PS: I really like Collierville, but just let their self appointed spokesperson get under my skin. In fact, I heard a parent say just last week in East TN, Collierville is great, they just ain't no Bearden, whose has back to back State Championships, but no Canes to toot their horn.
  23. Tough weekend in Mid TN for Collarville eh Cane.... BGA 3-1 L Father Ryan 0-0 T Centennial 0-1 W The rest of middle TN teams were spending the weekend at Euro 2008.......inside joke.
