  1. = mjuhb, this is a very tough time to rank especially the top ten in aaa. Seems like everyone has won, lost or tied to like teams. I think #1 is the hardest. But because Brentwood's only loss is to Ravenwood (the other to a out of state MD team) I think they still have the edge for #1. Soddy Daisy has only played two ranked teams, ND and Riverdale and won the ND game but if you look at the win loss tie record of their overall opponents its 77-70-14. Not up to what the other top ranked teams are so #3 would be too high. For whats its worth this is how I'd arrange the top ten. 1. Brentwood 2. Bearden 3. Siegel 4. Ravenwood 5. Franklin 6. Oakridge 7. Riverdale 8. Collierville 9. Soddy Daisy 10. Farragut
  2. If we do it will be through a more competitive road than Collarville.
  3. Siegel 5-0 over Cookville Tori Hawkins 2 Kim Conrad 1 Hayley Sloan 2 I didnt get to go game but heard it got rough on the field and the sidelines. Anybody got details?
  4. Lady Pats Fan, not a bad analysis of the two teams. I think Siegel will need to be physical but speed will be on their side. Should be a great series of games between the two. I would expect that Siegel and Riverdale to repeat what they did last two years where they played 3 games through district and regionals. I don't see Shelbyville or Columbia stopping either team. The showdown will be who plays Soddy Daisy but again I think either team should beat SD in sectionals and make it to the State Tournament.
  5. Here are my predictions for Final 8 aaa state tournament 2008. No particular order. Brentwood Franklin Riverdale Siegel Bearden Oak Ridge Collierville Houston Brentwood replaces Ravenwood from last year and Riverdale replaces Soddy Daisy. Final 4 Brentwood Siegel Bearden Collierville Final Siegel Brentwood Yes I have a Mid Tn bias but until an east or west tn team beats any of the these mid teams this is what my crystal ball is telling me....for now.
  6. No need to eat crow... 7-0 Siegel
  7. Speaking to AAA, I think the problem is that the strong East TN teams Bearden, Oak Ridge, and West TN Collierville, Houston teams have played in some combination so you can make some determination of ranking there but none of the East or West has played the top middle TN teams Brentwood, Siegel, Riverdale or Franklin. Until we have these teams match up it will be a regional my dogs better than your dog argument on who should be in the top 5 or 6. My dog looks like this. 1. Brentwood 2. Collierville 3. Siegel 4. Bearden 5. Oak Ridge 6. Riverdale
  8. Siegel 4 Cleveland 1 Siegel showed a lot more offense tonight against a good team.
  9. Siegel 4 Cleveland 1 Siegel controled most of the game and had many more shots on goal. Cleveland did score first about mid 1st half then Siegel answered back with 2 goals within 5 minutes. Score 2-1 at half time. Siegel scored 2 more in second half. Cleveland has a good team Siegel was just on tonight.
  10. Any one have results from games played tonight.
  11. Please post score of Brentwood v Franklin game. Traveling otherwise would have gone. Please give game summary too. Thanks.
  12. Sorry not sure that the stats makes for a good argument regarding improved defense or not. In early games and scrimmages the points against Siegel were made late in the games when we had more non-starters playing. My statement about Siegel's defense being the best in three years is mostly from watching them for the last 3 years and in my humble opinion the back line defensive mid and goalie have excellent experience and skills. I do think your observation about the Riverdale game regarding center mids and wings is a good one. They will control the game and with good passing and shooting will create the scoring opportunities. I've got to quit thinking about Riverdale now, they will come soon enough. We have a tough game this week with Cleveland. By the way anyone know where the Cleveland v Siegel game will be played. Will it be at the high school or at Lee Univ. where the sectional was played last year???
  13. Yes, I guess thats right or solid 12,13. But I dont know many High School teams that if they lost key players can replace them and it will surely effect the teams ability to make it thru to state. Knock on wood that has not happened although our starting keeper is coming back this week from a knee cap injury during the Baylor game. I will say our back up keeper Claire stepped up and has played well. Cane I think for Siegel and Collierville to match up this year it would have to be in the State final...hope we both make it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  14. No Master Mjuhb may not know all... but he comes closer than anyone I know when it comes to TN High School Soccer.
  15. I think live2succeed's point is Riverdale runs up their scores on the rural teams that have don't have the select player population that Murfreesboro schools have. Siegel played White County last week and won 7-0. After the score gets to 4-0 in the first half Coach Shelton requires that the girls can only score with headers. Also many of the jv and subs get a lot of playing time in these games. We watch Riverdale run these games up to 12-0 or 10-0 and wonder if they are just trying to pad their stats. Granted this year they have scheduled some tougher opposition this year and we will see how they fair in those games. They did beat Soddy Daisy 1-0 taking some revenge from last years 1-0 loss in the sectional. Will be interested in seeing how they fair against Baylor. Siegel played Baylor losing 4-2 but the lead in that game went back and forth until the injury to Siegel's starting goalie. Not sure that would have made much difference anyway. Baylor's Good! Here how I see it with my rose colored glasses on. Siegel's defense in better than it has been in 3 years. Riverdales defense is softer due to graduating their goalie from last year. Riverdales offense is still very good but so is Siegel's. Siegel takes district and Regionals this year but Riverdale still makes it to State tournament with Siegel. Any major injuries then all bets are off. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  16. Good list Mjuhb, although I think Collierville in AAA should be around 4 or 5. Their ties to DB and Cleveland should pull them down some. I think Brentwood should be a solid # 2 now too. Thanks for working on the rankings, super job as usual. I was going to be upset if you passed doing them this year. Hope your feeling better!!
  17. Interesting. Baylor is a strong #1 now but I think it opens up the #2 spot. I'd vote Brentwood at this point. Siegel has played both and Brentwood had the stronger defense and Baylor more offensive power.
  18. I feel your pain mr300bowl. Siegel has had to find a new location for one of its games this year due to middle school football taking presidence over girls high school soccer. Our Booster pres approached the principal about it and he showed little interest in discussing it. It just so happens mr. principal that your girls soccer team has made it to the state tournament for the last 3 years and this is the respect we get. Pathetic!
  19. This game was not that close. Could have been 5-0 Siegel but their still working things out on offense. Hendersonville's goalie made some nice saves too.
  20. Hendersonville Tournament Siegel -1 Franklin -0 Physical game, 0-0 at half, Franklin had more shots in first half. Siegel scored on a Hayley Sloan bullet cross to McKinsey Gibson. Siegel played great defense and the keeper had a very good game.
  21. Thanks for the game summary Chasanooga, Had to miss due to travel. Siegel #26 Hayley Sloan Siegel #34 Kim Conrad
  22. I think the balance of power may have tilted toward Siegel in district. Siegel played well in the BGA scrimmage which resulted in a 1-1 tie. Siegel scored on a really nice 35 yard shot by the freshman Hawkins. And over all had many more scoring opportunites than BGA. Another nice turn of events for Siegel, a player from the Stones Rivers Strikers, Brandi plays mid defender has moved to the area and is joining the team. I thinks this greatly improves Siegel prospects to return to the state tournament barring any major injuries.
  23. BGA v Siegel scrimmage last night 1-1 tie. The last two seasons BGA beat Siegel 4-0 and 4-1. Siegel showed speed and good possession. One of the freshman scored and defense was able to contain S. Dennis except for the free kick which she scored on.
