  1. Alex Poythress (Clarksville NE), hands down. Unless they can give it to Jarnell Stokes for his play with the Vols!
  2. I can argue that. In what year were they the favorite to win it all?
  3. I have NEVER said that I support kbrks statements. My responses to your posts have been in regards to your hateful tone and lack of bringing anything to the table as a poster. FYI, I had a fantastic experience at CPA. I served under Drew Maddux as a student assistant coach for 2 years. The only interaction I had with Brooks was as a camper at a few of his basketball camps in middle school. I keep up with and support CPA basketball more than any other alumni that I know of. My dad is in his 5th season serving as the P.A. announcer for CPA basketball. If you are "simply looking at the post to follow progress of the school's sports," I would think that you would appreciate the information and analysis provided by posters like CPA4Ever, coachrus, FBGirl, and matt610. But all that I have seen you respond to initially are posts by kbrks. You can keep trying to discredit or dismiss me because I "had a bad experience" or "hold a grudge," but you are simply way off base. And you don't need to explain to me what CoachT is designed for, I've been posting on here for 6 years and I have 400 more posts than you, so I've got a pretty good idea.
  4. Not really a friend at all, his daughter is my age. It just makes me sad that a CPA parent would conduct themselves the way you do on this forum. If you haven't torn him down, I must really be misinterpreting your posts. I am no saint, and sure, I'm a hypocrite.
  5. call him on what? All your post said was that he was let go by CPA 6 years ago and can't forget about it. If he really bothers you that much, don't read his posts, a pretty simple concept. We don't need you or anybody to be the defense attorney for CPA. If he is really the deranged grudge-holder that you make him out to be, why give credence to his comments by responding with personal attacks? Like I said before, the tone in your posts is nothing but hateful. How about during this Christmas season you and me go find somebody to love on rather than making sarcastic jabs on an online forum? I need it as much as you. How about we represent CPA by being lights in the darkness? How about we stop pointing fingers and look at our own hearts? Just a few ideas.
  6. Our dear friend, jett, who gets on Coacht for the sole purpose of tearing down kbrks....... I don't know who is worse, you, or crimsontide43 who trolls every CPA basketball thread to comment that "Maddux can't coach" Anybody interested in talking about actual basketball? OK I will. I was very impressed with the results from the King of Bluegrass tourney. While I didn't get to see any of the competition, from what I've read they seem to be top notch. I'm pleased to see CPA doing well in Christmas tourneys the last few years, as they have had trouble in the past. I remember in the '07-'08 and '08-'09 seasons, half of CPA's losses those seasons came when they travelled around Christmas time. I'm excited to see how they do in the Arby's classic. They should be one of the favorites, and if they play like they did in KY, they should have success. The team seems to really be coming together at this point, with several players getting back into basketball shape after the football playoffs and injuries. They have the "big 3" in Lindsey, Bradshaw, and Allsmiller, and a great supporting cast with Bonds, Howell, Wharton, and Richard. Brandon Cook and Robert Brown offer valuable minutes, and Cook's 3-point shot has improved tremendously. The bench is deep, and is about to get a little bit deeper with 6'6'' 8th grader Braxton Blackwell becoming eligible after the new year. Their size and strength inside is probably the best it's been since the days of Z Mason and Matt Zelenik, with a rotation of Brown, Howell, Tucker Johnson, and Paul Adams. This is a complete team that can hurt you in so many ways. I have to believe that if they take home the Arby's championship, that they will break into the National radar and rankings. The scariest thing about this CPA team is how young they are, with 4 sophomores starting on most nights, and a freshman big coming off the bench (soon to be joined by an 8th grade big). Bradshaw is headed to Belmont next year, and Lindsey has several big time offers already. While Lindsey is the one that gets the most press, I think Allsmiller is right there with him as a college prospect. Time will tell how they develop, but in the meantime I'm excited to see how they do in the next few days in Bristol, to see if Maddux can get his first championship this season, and to watch this team start competing on a national level in the coming years. Go Lions!
  7. agreed that was a terrible call.
  8. I read this post several times and I still have very little idea what you are trying to say. Milan's coaches were holding back? Not a very good idea in a game decided by 2 points. Who thinks that CPA won? All I see on this thread is people congratulating each other and breaking down the game. I'm gonna try to forget this post and give you another shot at writing one that is coherent and adds to this thread. Now for my thoughts. First of all, congrats to Milan on getting it done, regardless of injuries or circumstances on the other side of the field. You guys have a great atmosphere and tradition. I thought CPA would be able to pull it out in the second half because of several reasons: I expected Coleman to get tired, which it looked like he did to some degree. CPA's defense has proven over the course of the season to be one of if not the best in 3A, and it seems like they almost always get the stops when they need them late in games. CPA's D didn't disappoint last night, and got all those stops. CPA's coaching staff has impressed me all season, but I sure wish that they had been more creative in the play calling in the second half, as they seemed to be marching backwards on every possession. That's not to take anything away from how well Milan's D played. I read in an earlier post that Cranford was hurt, i must have missed that does anyone know what happened? I was wondering why CPA didn't try to get the ball in his hands more. If Wharton or Kemp had been given the more opportunities to throw in the 2nd half, I feel like there were opportunities to be had there. But alas, they know much more than I do so I have to assume that they were doing what they thought would give CPA the best chance to win. Both teams played their hearts out so congrats to CPA on it's best season since '02 and good luck to Milan at state. Side note: It seems that some people had issue with the PA announcer, but to me his cheerleading was more humorous than bothersome. It's your home field, so I feel like you can do what you want in those regards since it has very little effect if any on the game. What I did have a problem with was the play-clock operator. In the first half, when it was working, the play clock would often start WAY before the chains were set, and sometimes even before the ball was set. Not trying to accuse anyone of cheating, but c'mom, people are gonna notice that.
  9. Sounds like it was a great game with CPA leading after the 3rd quarter. I'm sure it was a valuable experience for the CPA team, facing one of the top if not the top player in TN this year. Jake "Larry Bird" Allsmiller shined again for CPA, and I look for him to lead the state again in 3-pointers, as he did last year as a freshman. Getting Bradshaw and Thomas Richard back will be big for CPA, as well as several basketball players that will be playing in Friday's state football semi-final. Poythress is the real deal- best of luck to him this season and next at Kentucky. As for CPA, this is a loss to build on. I don't see many teams in AA that will be able to stick with them when they are at full strength. They are that good, BUT, CPA has yet to win a state championship in basketball, so I cannot say that they are the team to beat. I'm looking forward to an exciting year in 10AA.
  10. I'll take CPA in this one 24-20. Milan gets an edge playing on their home field but I think CPA is much more battle tested and CPA's D and special teams will be unlike anything Milan has seen this season. I'll be at the game and I'm looking forward to a great battle.
  11. CPA is scheduled to compete this year.
  12. Who put you in charge of who can or can't post on CoachT, or how much? As a CPA grad, I like to keep up from time to time with CPA sports. CPA4Ever has been a loyal poster, is respectful of others, and is a level-headed supporter of CPA. I enjoy reading his opinions, and his posts are informative. I know why you have sour grapes for kbrks, and I've read your nasty posts to him, but this one just confuses me as those two people are coming from very different viewpoints. As you said in a previous post, students read these threads, and you have yet to contribute anything positive. All of your posts have a negative and sour tone. Since you like to tell people to stop posting, i'll do the same for you. "For the sake of the school", please look at yourself in the mirror, and think about the example YOU are setting. It's like the old saying, if you can't say anything positive, don't say anything at all. You seem to be concerned about the image and reputation of CPA, but all you do is hurt it. I don't know what's made you negative Nancy, it's a great time for CPA sports. God calls us to be a light in the darkness, and I hope you're real life witness is brighter than your cyber one. Keep on postin' CPA4Ever, and go lions!
  13. Doesn't Paul Adams play LT for the football team?
  14. I don't know, but why do you ask?
  15. CPA4Ever, is the film online?

  17. I read that he is planning to attend UTC or MTSU, so I'm assuming that basketball is not part of his plan. I loved watching Sky play when he was at CPA, he had incredible quickness and agility and was a great defender. His dunks were a thing of beauty as well. I think if he was a better shooter he would be a valuable addition for a smaller school.
  18. Thank you, kbrks, that means a lot to me.
  19. I didn't say I don't mind that. Let's just slow down on the heaping of shame.
  20. As a CPA graduate, I am disappointed to see this. A CPA parent questioning the Christianity of another person on a public forum. Lots of CPA students read what is posted on here, is this the example you want to be setting? If I were kbrks, I probably wouldn't be posting on here, but that's me. He has every right to. And while I might take issue with some of what he has written on here, I still have respect for him as a former teacher and coach of mine. jett- it's easy to get on here, create a new profile, and sound off on whatever you feel needs to be said behind the safe anonymity of your computer screen, but sprinkling in a bible verse doesn't mask your hateful tone.
