  1. Yep, Bearden is really bad. They could win 2 games this year, Heritage and maybe Lenoir City or Hardin Valley. It's going to be a long year for the Bulldogs.
  2. Over end of 1st qtr. Karns has a few good players. Smith rb/corner and Faulkenberry rec/safety. Smith will carry it 25 times while playing defense too. The qb is decent, threw for 1600 plus last year. They have one good lineman, Hodge, 6-5 275. But that's about it. They are way over matched here.
  3. He's been limited with a hamstring. Seems a little rusty. But he will be ready to go for sure. We can count on 35 to get it done.
  4. SS, you've always got Middleton to end and Warmbroad back to linebacker up the sleeve.
  5. Blade adamantly did not want Middleton on our team. That is truth.
  6. The running backs are fine. They all practiced yesterday and looked good to me.
  7. I didn't see anybody get injured, who are you referring to? I will see if they are out there today.
  8. Woods would be eligible if LC hadn't included the discipline plan bs. They never did write the letter for Camion, but he was one credit shy of being eligible. Camion was enrolled in a summer course to make up that credit but he did not finish the course on time. He was one day past the deadline. And again the letter never came. LC also turned West in for Terrance Hall. TSSAA did a brief investigation and cleared him.
  9. Yeah, obviously that's what they are trying to do. It just seems like practices should have been that way from the start. I think all the coaches and players have been challenged to pick up the intensity level. It was fun to watch, they were getting after it.
  10. Practice yesterday was brutal, very spirited. Lots of yelling, whooping and hollerin. They were still out there going full contact at 6:45. They finished up with live goal line offense. Looked like defense got the better of the offense. Starting to get a little worried about this o-line. I thought they would be much improved with Coach Younger back in charge. Haven't seen it yet though.
  11. Where did he start his high school career? I think the issue here is that he has moved more than once. TSSAA allows one move from the school your clock starts at.
  12. I'm gonna say: AC 28 Clinton 27 CC 49 CG 13 Gibbs 20 Carter 21 Powell 0 Fulton 42 Karns 7 West 49 Halls 13 Ky. 21
  13. Don't think so Gov. Not this year. Nosirreeebob.
  14. Yes he is eligible and he played sparingly on defense only last night. He showed very quickly that he will be a force on the defense, they ran away from him on all but one play. On that one play he split the double team and made the tackle for a loss. South Doyle had the ball 4 times and scored on 3 of those, two 80 yard drives and one from about 70. So our defense made 1 out of 4 stops. The offense had the ball 4 times and scored twice. One drive was 80 yards. Caleb Jackson made a nice catch on a perfectly thrown fade route in the end zone. On the other score we had a short field and TJ scored on about a 40 yard run. That was it for the first teams. Both sides of the ball need to get much better to win the tougher games on the schedule.
  15. I agree. There is a ton of work yet to do, and a short time to do it. This group needs to buckle down and get it together. Last night we started 7 seniors on offense and 8 seniors on defense. I thought we would be better than what I have seen so far. I'm hoping to improve each week and be a really good time come playoff time.
  16. It's not completely settled yet. But basically you have seniors Ted Mitchell and Jemiah Hall at corner, seniors Brandon Bonds and Tommy Kazchoa at safety. Sophomore Tee Higgins can play both safety and corner and will get plenty of reps. Seniors Jamar and Jamal Anderson are very capable back ups and can play both positions as well. Other capable backups include Sr. Malik Hardy, Jr. Jordan Dunbar, Sr. James Smith, So. Jared Miner.
  17. West has to replace three players from last year. OL/DE Leon Humphrey (ETSU), LB Cody Underwood (preferred walk-on UT), and OL Kelton Johnson (Carson Newman). Those obviously were 3 excellent ballplayers. Everyone else is back. They will be very good again. I agree with WH4L, SD, West, or OR should make the semifinal game in the East giving them a shot to get to Cookeville.
  18. Murvil is going to play up in 6A, mark it down.
  19. Big Middleton is D end, little brother is a safety
  20. The Murvil qb is excellent once again.
  21. Stars, The scrimmage will be at Blankenship.
  22. As uncle Si would say, "I'm back Jack"! The guys look good in practice. Looking forward to Friday at the Ship. I remember last time we scrimmaged Murvil and their fans were making fun of us for charging $3. It was hilarious. If you don't have a Wildcat card, get one. The coupon for Snappy Tomato Pizza is killer, buy one get one free. The card pays for itself by using it one time.
  23. I'm logging out for the summer. I'll catch back up with you guys in August. Go Cats
  24. Yeah, br, we look really good at rb with Jones, Allison, Nickerson. We will miss Luster more on defense than we would have on offense. Fadnek has improved tremendously since last year. I agree with SS, Higgins could be a starting safety, He could play free or strong either one. I'm sure they have already watched the film to identify the defensive breakdowns and will get those fixed.
