SEVERAL TIMES BUT FELL FOR THE TRICKERY OF DL KEEPING THE BALL IN DL HANDS MOST OF THE NIGHT..ELROD YOU WERE A STUD BEHIND THE EXCELLANT BLOCKING OF YOUR TEAMMATES AND NEVER QUIT STYLE OF RUNNING..NOT TO LEAVE OUT THE REST OF THE STANGS BUT YOU KNOW HOW FANS LOOK AT THE GAME..THE BALL CARRIER GETS ALL THE CREDIT BUT IS NOTHING WITHOUT HIS OFFENSIVE LINEMEN!! Big Country, the final was 40-0..ive never seen nor probably never will see a team so dominant..Thieery was Stud too as opposite defensive end..Henderson and Thieery completely squashed the Trojan O-Line all nite..Beard was a delight to watch as he danced,jig-jagged,side-stepped the Trojans defence leaving them sprawled all over the field..Big John did not even come on to the field Until game time..he must have warmed up in the locker room..What A Sight To See ... LEST WE ALL FORGET THE DYERSBURG/SHEFFIELD DEBACLE LAST YEAR... DL HAS PLENTY OF $$$ TO GET RID OF THE BEST TEAM IN WEST TN SO THEY CAN ADVANCE TO FINAL GAME OF PLAYOFFS!

I would have mentioned "THE CHIEF" as my first but thought it would have been taken out of context being as he played in the mid-fifties when a player could only play varsity f/b for three years..He was also an ALL-AMERICAN at Vandy..yes such a fright to see him run the ole pigskin..I watched him when i was in my younger years and was in complete awe of him..hes one of the reasons that drew me to my love of football and later play for DHS..he"s running mate Donald Thompson at fullback wasnt a slouch either.. he would lay the wood to you both O AND D.. he went to UT where he got kicked off the team for keeping the starters injured as a frosh mainly little Johnny Majors when frosh didnt play varsity f/b..its the only way he knew to play !! Yeah "THE CHIEF" would gain 3-4 yards by only hitting the line and always go down forward..NUFF SAID

"punkin" would be my pick too..saw him carry the ball only 7 times against a good DHS team for 220 yds..was suppose to be the game of the year but Kelcey took matters in his hands..ZOOOMM!

What a tragedy..only God knows why he takes a young ones life..Hes our only Source of comfort in times like these ..Prayers and heartfelt thoughts from Dyersburg for Our Heavenly Father to uphold his family,friends,teammates, coaches !!

hey if its bad weather then its bad for all teams..CC doesnt rate any better than other teams concerning weather..DHS qb still hobblin so here we are with a rejunavated Haywood comin to Beautiful J.C.SAWYERS STADIUM for probably the hardest hitting game in the area ..not to leave other teams out without they bettter players..GO TROJANS !
