I'm anxious to hear about what the usual mckenzie posters have to say about the game if they attended?

In more than 30 years of watching and understanding football that was the worst officaiated game i have ever seen. I'm not talking about just in high school, i mean it was like they got 5 yahoo's off the high way to come ref. I don't have stats but i can't wait to see how many flags were thrown. Granted some were good, accurate calls and i'm sure i didn't see a few of them but tonight i felt like i paid 5 buck to watch the guys in white and black. I'm not talking about just against one particualar team, both teams had absolutly terrible calls.Did anyone catch the play they ruled "down" on the midline that the running back was on the outside while the ref's thought the guy up the middle had the ball and ruled him down? I mean somethings are understandable but that is horrible. Good win for mckensie and i hope that somehow someway both of these teams play again because i really wish i could say i paid five dollars to watch a football game and not a the ref''s thinking that ESPN has a camera on each of them. Both teams looked fairly equal. God help the next teams that have to endure a game with that crew.

This is the obviously the major game for both teams. I've seen both teams play once and think this will be a fairly even match up. Dresden started off slow against a somewhat un talented (in my opinion) greenfield team. Granted that it could be the first game jitters and lets hope so for the lions. If they come out and play as they did against greenfield this friday it will probally be over with at the half. McKenzie vs. westview game was basically a sloppy game through out(for westview) . I'll tilt my hat to the rebels, but really anyone who was at the game could tell you that westview basically did everything they could to shoot themselves in the feet. That being said, Mckensie is a decent team in comparision to past years while dresden is def an up team compared to the past these teams have played. This is really true for all football games and i hate saying it will be the difference maker because it usually is but in this game more than any the turn over ratio will determine this game. I'm not calling a winner, i'm not calling a score (however i expect it in the lower 20's or teens), but i'd assume that the winner in the turn over cat. will have more ticks on the big board at the end of the game.

I'll throw union city into the mix. Facilities could be better but as far as a playing field theirs is hard to beat. Also CBHS has an incredible field. Don't really know much about middle and east TN, but the two that have stuck out to me in recent years are these two

Hey finally someone who isn't a complete idiot! By the 1 and 2 i'd go by record and then if that's not good enough or their's is the same go by streghtn of schedule. That's the most logical way to go about it all no matter where your from or who you are

As i said i don't give a rat's who wins b/c my team came no where close to being in this. And i wouldn't even be against a west playing a west if they weren't 1 and 2. It's just a load a horse crap. How do you figure that? anyone with any idea of sports what so ever would logically conclude that it would be the best way to do the match up. This "blind" drawing b.s. is just that, b.s. You would have many fewer people complaining if it went by this higher playing lower seed format. As i said i despise humbolt anyway lol, but the higher playing lower Is just basic common sense reasoning people. That's like saying alright this year in the NFL we're going to place the division leaders playing each other and the wild cards playing each other, then bring them together after one of the higher knocks a higher out. It has no reasoning behind it. In this system, a team could literally lose ALL games before the district play in games and then win out and win the state tourny by playing the last and last seed teams together and the number 1 and 2 seeds knocking each other out. I totally agree. Humbolt hasn't lost a game all year and their playing a team that's 25-2 in the FIRST ROUND??? C'mon. I'm from west tn and honestly can say that i HATE humbolt lol. but this is the biggest load of crap next to the BCS system that i've heard of in quite some time. I guess it's too common sense for a number one seed in the state to play the lowest seed in the ship...that'd be just too plain and simple

I'll give you an over rated one, is young Cisco from union city. If any of you can recall, when he first came to union city he was a par coach and had a few average season's. Not until his father came around did he actually start winning and winning big. He's an average coach don't get me wrong but he gets all of his fathers credit /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. Anyone from union city knows it's true if you will admit it or not.

Another problem stimulating at home which i mean is true, is that parents tell their kids about how terrible dresden is and hype up westview (which don't get me wrong has a very good system in place) which in turn turns their kids away from possibly helping dresden. I know of at least 5 athletes that have gone to, or are going to martin after middle school in dresden. I mean Hello they aren't just thinking it up on there own /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh:" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> another thing i was meaning to ask, who all was in the district at region in the early 90's? I wasn't around here then and don't really know.

Dude did you read even a bit of my first post? You've been bashing dresden for the past 15 yrs and i've gave you the stats of the teams since i've been around here for the past 8. Trust me, there's few people who have seen as many sporting events as I over the past 7 or 8 years. I'm not just talking about high school, but middle school, and even pee wee basketball, football, and baseball. Your right about the past two seasons, but anyone with any common sense that can relate to sports at all knowns the main problem. This sounds harsh but in all reality the kids that are in the system now have not ever been very good at anything. Period. Yeah with a new coach they might win one or two more games. But still, what you cannot understand is that the level of talent is not up to par with the rest of the comp. Period. Yeah the senior boys now went to the TNT state games, but that's a payed tourny you can get a team and go to. Some might say well they won a county championship, why aren't they good now? Well up at the high school level their thrown into the mix with some of the most athletic teams in the state. I'm not just talking about 2A, but the entire state. Seriously, look up how many gold balls union city, humbolt, and some of those teams has won in the past several yrs and you'll get a better understanding of what i'm talking about. I've already covered football in my previous post, refer to that when you think about that. And also look at that group of kids records coming up through the ranks. It DOES say something. On to baseball, ya know, same story, differnt season. You are very right my friend, the past two yrs have been bad. But it's no worse then the kids that play now were when they were 8,9,10,11,12 and in babe ruth. There's a direct correlation. Blame it on lack of bringing potental if you want, but you need to look at the kids when they are learning the fundmentals of the game when their in the lower leagues. My point, they weren't good then, and they aren't now. It's nothing new. Also the kids that won the 4 straight district championships and went to 2 substates games (which lost to the st champ) where always good in baseball. One group went to i think the state playoffs every year they were in babe ruth and the teams above and below them were above average as well. This trend is saying something. The kids that are there now, look at the records of them back when they were in lower leagues. There is a correlation to their athletic ability. Now to another point you made about the coaches being the problem about the kids coming out and playing. While the coachs might have a small thing to do with it, it all starts at home buddy. If you tell your kids, your friends kids that it's pointless coming out to play for something instead of telling them they can make a difference then who are you really hurting? The coach, the team, and YOUR CHILD. Come on man, sorry i got ill about this eariler but your not the only person out there that i've heard this from a number of times. And that is the most iggnorant thing to talk about to your children. If you have a problem with the way your tax dollars are being spent don't put an anminous blog every where, step up and take some action and go to a school board meeting or to whom ever the next super intendent is. It'll do many many more times good then someone getting on here ranting about this topic

Dude...your barking up the wrong tree. It is very very apparnt that you've lived in memphis for 10 yrs. bc quite honestly you really have NO idea what your talking about. You might know what your talking about in reference to your "all nation" teams of the early 90's but other than that you really have not idea. I myself played at dresden, and quite frankly have missed very few sporting events in the past 7 yrs. I've seen numerous kids come and go at dresden. While yes dresden has been down for the past two years before that they had been up ever since i moved back to the area my friend. You are right about a few things, that's this year's things have not been good at all. HOWEVER while i say that if you have been to ANY event, not just read about it on some ******* website you would know of the kind of things that dresden has had working against it in the past two years. Lets start with football. Before dresden went to 2A in around 02 or 03 i think they were an above .500 team EVERY year i can remember. After the swith to without a doubt the HARDEST region in 2A football in 03, the football teams went 7-4 (Playoffs), in 04 went 6-5 (Playoffs yet again), 5-5 in 05, and then 06 they went 3-7 with half of the starters at the beg of the season getting lost to injury. the same story last year in 08, several people hurt went to a a 1-9 season isn't very good i know, but when you have 90% unexperienced underclassmen starting what do you expect. Last year the team didn't win a game, with the same under classmen starting. Another thing to ponder on while you get on your next rant, the 07 team had 30 kids, while last year's team dressed 23 kids. Unless your a COMPLETE utter moron, it's really ridiculous to bash that, and if you saw even one game in the past two years you would see that AMAZING TALENT that dresden has. Now to baseball. Wow i'm not even really sure where to start here with this. The past two years have yet again been down for the program i will say that, now witht that said from the program was down in teh 01-02 seasons, but the 03-07 teams the teams were well above average. But hey i'm sure from your constant reserch and keeping up with dresden you know all about the two sub state games and 3 or 4 district titles so hey man, i'm not tellin you jack there huh? To basketball. The teams up until this year have been well above average. And from i think 04-07 didn't have a losing record? Correct me if i'm wrong because i don't follow basketball as close as i should but i did attend several games each season and saw the teams of the time. While i will say taht the boys bball coach has come under some questining in the past and have had some questionable coaching, that's not for either me nor you to decide, that's for Mr. West, who has been over some very good teams in the past and WAS their when you were, so i think it's safe to say his judgement is good. Another thing about bballl, while the programs have been "down" we don't play gleason, greenfield, and south fulton alone anymroe. I got a good thing for you to do with you blog and bit** about things you don't know, get some good background on the bball team and look up the records of the teams they play and how many gold balls they have. then get back to me Okay lets go over a fews things for ya mr. german town. Maybe, i mean JUST MAYBE the lack of participation being down has played some role in this? Also the level of talent in the classes currently at dresden high school. A coach just doesn't totally change the way he is after a certain class graduates. MAYBE the talent level jsut isn't there? Have you considered that? I mean the records of the current coaches teams of the past don't lie. Pete Carrol coulldn't have beat westview, humbolt, STATE RUNNER UP MILAN, or hardly anyone else with 23 kids and no talent. You couldn't either. So next time and for whoever reads this, whenever you haven't been involved with ANYTHING or attended anything in the past 10 years and don't know a dang thing of what your talking about, take your crap somewhere else. The coaches and players at dresden need to more focsed on playing instead of what some jack hole with a grudge has to say 100 miles away Another thing, If you don't mind send me a link of the stats your getting on some of your stuff, i'd like to write a comment to their editor about the falsly putting stuff about the teams of several years ago and not naming their accomplishments.I'll take your advice and BLOG about them not seeing waht they won. I can't wait to see this game! Should be a barn burner, i haven't seen goodpasture but going from years past i'm sure they'll have great coach's as well as players. The only thing that has me worried about Milan how they'll do in a really really close game, something that has came at a premium this year. This won't be the fourty or fifty point blow out that has be the norm this year. I hope they don't pull a Henry Co. and against Goodpasture b/c i have a strong feeling that they will make few mistakes to. That'll be the deciding factor in this one, both teams are great, and the one that's most fundamental will win. It'll be worth your seven dollars!

I went to the Forrest Game and last weeks game vs. cascada

McKensie is a good team, not taking anything at all away from them, and they have even better coach's. How they beat Union city i still haven't figured out but ol' comer pulled it out, but other than playing Union City they haven't came against any real comp. Sure they played Lake Co. who only by two points over a one diminsonal gleason team in terrible weather conditions. McKensie is a good team don't get me wrong but they aren't a State Championship team, not this year anyway. After seeing both teams play, Jo Burns twice and Mckensie against Union city, lake co twice and dresden, I'm going to have to say Jo Burns will be playing next week. I hope i'm wrong, but i just think Mckensie wiill fight their last battle friday. For all you Mckensie fans, i'm not from Mckensie i've jsut been to a few games but are they a relative young team this year?

If Speed dosen't play then dresden has a chance.....being an old dresden alum i went to the trenton game last night for the first time this year. Dresden's kids never quit and played with a ton of heart they just don't have the speed to break that big play. God willing dresden pulls off a win but i see union city taking this one...you know know however...
