  1. BruinBabe I don't know who you are (and I don't have a dog in this fight) but you are CRAZY. FYI Mr Arnold has NEVER posted on here, 5Sport is NOT Mr Arnold. Kayla is not the only star on the Greenbrier team. I have seen them play and all the athletes on this team are VERY gifted. Kayla's sister Kaysi, Nina and Riley all are very capapble of putting the ball down with force. I don't think there is one rotation that they do not have a player on the front row that can finish. I am assuming you are from the "Wood" let me tell you - your lovely team is the one that will have difficulty in the boro this year. If you are from the "Wood" I also don't understand why Greenbrier is tearing you up so much. You won't even have to try to beat them. Maybe your just upset that Greenbrier is getting more publicity on Coach T than your team of choice. IMO Greenbrier is probably under a lot of pressure to repeat as State Champs but they are very capable of getting the job done. Good luck to Greenbrier and ALL the teams that have made it to the Boro, including the "Wood"
  2. Lets get real guys. IMO it has nothing to do with the way TTU is recruiting. Some kids are just not willing to stay home. Some like to adventure away from home even if it is within driving distance. I have no doubt Amy strongly recruited these two players but the players themselves preferred something else. Again it has NOTHING to do with TTU or Amy except maybe the fact that TTU/Cookeville is home.... This not only applies to basketball but volleyball, football or any other sport for that matter. My daughter was recruited by TTU for volleyball but chose to go away from home - had nothing to do with TTU's inability to recruit her.
  3. Way to go Erin !! Remember, I knew you before you could even dribble the ball /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Congrats to the whole family, now you can relax and enjoy the senior year. That commitment will make the world of difference - NO MORE STRESS!!!
  4. CONGRATS to Lebanon. They were the team to beat in the 7-AAA district tournament. They wanted it and they got it in a very impressive manner. Icelyn Elie was a blocking machine tonight. Best of luck to both Lebanon and Siegel at Regions. Both teams will represent our district well. Don't know all the names for the All-District but here is what I do know. MVP - Kaycee Green - Cookeville 1st Team Ellee Agee - Cookeville Samantha Mayberry - Cookeville London Elie - Lebanon Icelyn Elie - Lebanon Taylor Mense - Blackman Ashley Zeek - Blackman Morgan Faulkner - Siegel Kristen Cantrell - Siegel (I know there were a couple more but I am sorry but can't remember names) 2nd Team Selena Mullinax - Cookeville All Freshman Julie Brooks - Cookeville Brooke Faulkner - Siegel Hopefully someone can fill in the rest of the names. Congrats to all the award winners. Looking forward to next year already.
  5. PHargis, I appreciate your looooong posts but I feel the urge to make a few corrections tonight. LHS beat Cookeville 3-1 not in 3. The yellow cards were given - 1 in game 1 to Cookeville and the 2nd in game 3 to LHS. LHS is a much improved team no one will disagree with that, the "Twin Towers" did dominate tonight but the one big difference between the "Twin Towers" from LHS and the "Twin Towers" of Cookeville (Green/Agee) is consistenency. If you look at the entire season Green has been one of the most consistant players in 7-AAA. She is not only a strong player offensively but also plays back row and is one of the best passers in the district. When Green is on the back row and Agee on the front with Mayberry setting most teams have had difficulty stopping that combination. I know 5-sport Dad would ask if I want some cheese with my wine but we are talking about a team that graduated 8 seniors (5 starters) last year. Cookeville had a bad night tonight, LHS had a great night. I would like to wish LHS the best of luck tomorrow night against Siegel. I also want it to be known that this Cookeville fan still believes that Green is one of the best players in the mid-state and that the reason for her success has been the TEAM. Coach Brooks, Coach Cherry, Coach Cox, Samantha Mayberry, Ellee Agee, Selena Mullinax, Emily Hannah, Haley Fitzpatrick, Tori Macke, Julie Brooks, Savanah Skimmyhorn, Taylor Enochs, Tiana Johnson and all the JV and freshman players on the team have made this the best season to watch. 7-AAA is one of the strongest districts in Tennessee and i really hope one of the remaining teams will be in the Boro to represent our district.
  6. Well,,,,, Cookeville's run has come to an end. Lebanon came ready to play and unfortunately we can't say the same about Cookeville. Lebanon won 3-1. Disappointing end after such a successful season. Lady Cavs we are still so proud, you accomplished so much more than anyone ever thought you would. Watch out next year, we only graduate 1 senior. Best of luck to the remaining 7-AAA teams.
