  1. From DeKalb County: Prayers and positive thoughts to all involved. May God walk closely beside each of you touched by this tragedy.
  2. Where? How many participate and what do you serve??? LOL
  3. Does anyone tailgate at their high school games?
  4. From DeKalb County - positive thoughts and prayers for these students and thier families, especially the young girl still in a coma. God be with them.
  5. The following is an update from Brent's mom from her website: Thank you to everyone for your concern for Brent. He is feeling a lot better today. He is still not 100%, but getting closer. His shoulder is extremely sore and in a sling. I didn’t realize that he had actually gotten hit in the shoulder in the play also. I don’t know how to tell you how much we appreciate all of your concerns, thoughts and prayers. It was a very scary moment for us, and just knowing that we had support through it meant a lot. So many of you asked what you could do to help and I am so appreciative of that. For all of you who came to the hospital, all I can say is WOW, it meant the world to Brent for you to show up. I spoke with Kyle’s (the Macon County player) mother around 1:00 and Kyle was home and resting comfortably. He is beginning to regain some of his memory of what had happened that day and he was very concerned about Brent also. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers that he makes a full recovery. Through this situation I have learned that with each concussion they most likely get progressively worse and soon can be a very serious situation. Also, she'll be printing out all these GREAT posts for him. What a great thing to see everyone concerned.
  6. Per the DeKalb players mom, Brent (dchs) had a grade 2 concussion and a sore shoulder. He's home, resting and feeling better this morning. The Macon county player, I'm sorry I don't know his name, was still there when they left a little after midnight, with a grade 3 concussion and no recolection of yesterday. No update on him this morning = PRAYERS FOR BOTH PLAYERS AND FAMILY!!!
  7. DeKalb fan here, one of the biggest they've got... c'mon boys... pull one out of your hat! YOU CAN do it! Get out there and HIT somebody!! Block ... block and then block some more! You boys can do it! You know where I'll be... on the 50 screaming my fool head off!! C'MON BOYS!!! HIT SOMEBODY!!!
  8. Those of us from DeKalb County must be positive and we've gotten quite good at it over the years. I believe we could win tonight and should have won a few others already. It has nothing to do with Sycamore but everything to do with DEKALB!

  10. The topic of whether or not dipping/chewing is good or bad isn't really the issue here. Everyone has a story to tell or an opinion about it! The issue is if it's ok to break rules. The TSSAA says coaches/players can't use tobacco on the field, right? So the question put to you is, why is it allowed if it is against the rules????
  11. This post is not dumb. While DeKalb may have had a bad year there are many circumstances that have led to that. These boys work very hard each week! You never know what might happen. It takes a great deal of courage to come out and put on the black and gold each and every Friday night after the year these boys have had. They have more courage and more heart than a lot of boys on winning teams. It's easy to play on a winnig team - it's easy to put those colors on and it's easy to stand on the sidelines or cheer in the stands for those teams. It's not so easy for these boys yet they do it each and every week. Each and every week they show up for practice and they show up for games and they work hard. This game could be close and may very well be close! POSITIVE! POSITIVE THOUGHTS! GO BLACK AND GOLD! GO TIGER TEAM! HIT SOMEBODY!

I have to add after reading all these, I grew up in Goodlettsville too. I spent many days in Pea Park as both my brothers were ball players and about your age (Whitaker). They played football under Coach Smallen too! You couldn't beat Coach Smallen. Walking to Dairy Queen if your team won! You are right, everyone knew everyone. Pleasent Green swimming pool was the place to go. Someone mentioned Gateway... wow... old times... they are closing that one. Neighborhood schools are a thing of the past. Rivalries aren't what they used to be. The talk between Madison and Goodlettsville was always rough. There was always going to be a "fight", there was always a prank going on one side or the other. Remember the WENO wagon behind the bleachers at the G'ville games?? LOL! Who is Hunter's Lane rival now????
  14. THANK YOU!!!! Thank you very much for these kind words. I'm printing this out and sharing it with the team. And may I add that we look forward to hosting you in our DEN next year!
  15. There's always a shot! Never say never! GO TIGERS!
