Yeah, I know the record. Been to nearly all the games. The District has been a joke for many years now. Don't kid yourself. Yes they have beaten some very good teams in that span. Not taking anything away from them. The play calling is my complaint. It has been atrocious this year. 3rd down and less than 1, with a RB like Miller, and you call a toss sweep against a Defense that is much quicker and smaller? Thats just one example. My opinion. I will still support them and follown them regardless.

Polk should win this game. With that being said, if the play calling doesn't improve, Loudon will win by 2 TD's. As a die-hard Polk fan, they have became way too predictable with what they are running.

Wasn't there, but Polk's stat guy called the RedZone and said he had 44 carries for 411 yards and 6 TD's. Oh, also had an INT on defense playing MLB. That gives him over 1400 yards rushing for the year.

So how did the Polk/Chiefs game turn out? How's the District looking? Anybody putting up any big numbers so far this year?

Totally agree on Alcoa being in a league of their own. I would still love for Polk to play them. Would we win, NO, but they need to play a team like that and why not play the best. As for the other teams I listed, Bradley, South Pitt, Chatt Central, Cleveland... Polk can play with and beat any of those.

Was told @ the Polk game last week that Signal Mtn has been picked up as well as Chatt Central for next yr. Also Polk would continue to play Bradley and South Pitt. Not sure how true, but also heard they were trying to work games out with Alcoa or Cleveland, and possibly both. Personally I hope they play both.

Soddy will need no help from any umpires. They are that good. Saw them firsthand yesterday and they are the real deal. Excellent pitching, very good defense, and very good hitting top to bottom. If somebody beats them, they are gonna have to play a mistake free game, and hope for some breaks....

Gonna have to disagree with ya ParisRiverRat. No way possible this can happen. Before all the Central folk correct ya, it's McMinn CENTRAL....lol They get kinda touchy bout that. Seriously though, I think Central pulls this one out late in a close game..... Good luck Central from a Polk fan!!

That's why they are called "predictions". It's who people are "picking" to win. Once the games start, they mean absolutely nothing. Anybody can get hot and beat anybody on a given night.

Would love to see Polk/Central for Round #5, but for this to happen, both teams will have to play their best and catch a few breaks. How nice would it be for Polk, Central and Walker Valley all to make it to the Finals considering they were all in the same District just a few yrs ago. Good luck to all 3.

Looks like this could be a very good 1st Round game. Whoever wins will more than likely get Gibson Co. Thoughts? Predictions?

There could have been alot more fouls on both teams. There could have been a "T" on the Upperman coach for being 5ft on the court for most of the game. But why not just give props to Polk for beating a very good Upperman team. Who cares if Polk slowed it down. That was the best gameplan for them to win. Congrats to Upperman on a very good season.

Polk started out the game with a quick 3 and never trailed. For once, Polk was the aggressor and I think it caught Central by suprise. Central had an off night shooting, but Polk's defense had alot to do with that. Polk was up 30-14 @ halftime, and came out and stalled. Almost came back to bite em though. Down the stretch, Polk missed several easy layups, and was only 5-13 from the line or it would have never been close. 2 very good teams, that know each other very well. Last night just happened to be Polk's night.

I would guess 6-4 Central if they played 10x. Reason being, the last 2 games, Polk knows they can not only play with them, but also beat them. Don't know much about Upperman, other than what I saw last yr when they played @ Central in the Sub-State, one of the best games I have ever seen btw. If they are anywhere near that good, it should be a great game.

Central may have the better team, but last night Polk was. For the first time in who knows when, Polk came out not intimidated and took the game to Central. Polk controlled the game from the opening tip. Suprisingly, Central looked like the timid team that was playin not to lose. But, Polk deserves some of the credit for that. Both teams should be very proud. Combined 7 losses between the 2. Good luck to both teams Saturday night, especially Polk, and hopefully both can make it to the 'Boro....

Polk upsets McMinn Central 37-30 in the Region Championship game. Congrats to Polk and good luck to both Polk and McMinn Central in Sub-State.

Why would I need to read the DPA? I was @ the game. You have given Polk ZERO credit for the win. And that, to me, shows how clueless you are....

I guess you and the reporter were watching a different game than the other 4,000 people that were there. You still havent told what penalties you think cost Central a 37 point loss. We'll wait on another ignorant post from you.... You would think at some point you would show just a little bit of class and congratulate Polk on a good win.

5chargerfans, you are an idiot if you think the refs had any influence on the outcome of the game. The better team won the game, period. I guess it was the refs fault that Central couldnt line up right, it was the refs fault they had the false starts, it was the refs fault they hit late.... please, get a clue. I guess it was the refs fault Polk had 250 yrds rushing, and I guess it was the refs fault that Jared outran the Central defense on that 86 yrd run. Please fill everyone in on which calls you are talking about that caused the 37 point margin.... And just in case you are wondering, I was there.....

Scoreboard is correct. Walker Valley led 1-0 going to the top of the 7th. Soddy scores 2 to go up by one. WV comes in and ties it up. Game goes to the 10th, and Walker Valley pulls out the win 3-2.

I don't understand quite what you mean. Central makes it to the State 9 out of the past 13 yrs. Just so happens they have not won the whole thing. I don't consider that laying an egg. How many teams would love to at least make it to State just once. They deserve alot of credit for what they accomplished. Im a die hard Polk fan, but you have to give credit where it is due, and they deserve it.
