  1. Jeff Lockwood at UT went to Halls. And not making personal stabs at the kid, because he had a fabulous high school career at Farragut and deserves all the rescpect in the world, but Lockwood has been alot more productive to his team then Capatano has been to North Carolina.
  2. If they did a new coach, if he can get some of the athletes from basketball and football to play, your right they will start to get back on tract. But I just dont see that happening, Baseball is not a big priority at Scott High.
  3. How's their pitching staff looking? They lost all of it beside skidmore if im not mistaken. And besides Breazeale they didn't have great pitchin last year, but hard to lose when your team scores 13 every game. You have to have three decent-good pitchers to make a run at state.
  4. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> /wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> Biggest upset so far this post-season. Looks to be a more interesting Region than expected. I feel sorry for my alma mater.... Grace will rebound, should be a good one (pending both teams with first round).
  5. Bubba Trammell Also played at Central (MLB 1997-2003) Greg McMichael played at Webb (MLB 1993-2000)
  6. Congrats Ms. Lowe. And your missing a big point. No matter the circumstances she still had to put the ball in the basket more than the girl holding the record. Which she did. And what about the girls that played before there was a three point line? Should that be taken into consideration? She broke the record just appluad her for her accomplishment. And When I was in high school I never remember a Basketball game being cancelled and not being played on a later date.
  7. Officaially 41-75 on the year including tournaments. If my math skills aren't too rusty, that's over .500. I was told he hit somewhere around .700 in the district and I can believe it. Every game I watched him play he had two or three hits every time. And to say he didnt play good competition, is wrong. He went 2-4 at Loudon, and 2-3 at CAK.
  8. Ya, That would be great. Your right Pryor is good. Is he getting any looks from anywhere? He can knock the cover off the ball. He's a good guy too, and that always makes it easier to cheer for him.
  9. Well, Wartburg should have beaten Harriman last year in the region tournament, but my buddies down there couldn't field a bunt to put the game away. I think Harriman had like 3 hits the whole game? All the other baserunners were results of errors most of them on bunts. And guess what, Wartburg brings back 7 starters. All their pitching, and their big sticks. Plus, like I said before they have the best player in the region. That's a pretty good basis for putting them above a Rockwood team that lost 8 starters. and The top of the pitching rotation. But Harriman and Wartburg will be the top 2 this year, with either one of them having the ability to win.
  10. Bitterfan, I assumer your referring to Daugherty? I agree with you he is the best player in the Region, but he can't do it all. Although, I did see him the other day and he appears to have slimmed down and put on some muscle. Coach said he saw him throw and he looked pretty good. But those other boys are gonna have to play clutch ball down the stretch. I think Wartburg will win it though, just too much experience both good and bad. I played against those kids since we were about 7 and most of those kids out there and just like my old teammates. Best of Luck to them this year.
  11. Midway.... Maybe Oneida, But coalfield lost too much from last year's team. That didn't even finish first. Don't see them bouncing back like that with the likes of Ray Ray Robinson in the region.
  12. There were maybe 25-30 Range. They ran maybe 14 or 15 on First Offense and Defensive, but as usually it looked as though many of their best players will play both sides.
  13. Varsity play was Wartburg 1-0. Wartburg's offense got every drive into Sunbright territory. Sunbright's ran very few, if any plays in Wartburg territory. A pretty good Defensive scrimmage, but im glad to see my dogs throwin the ball around like they did. They have some really good skill players.
  14. Anybody that has watched oliver springs play, knows They were playing for round 2 of playoff baseball with wartburg. Kegley didnt yell one time, they didnt throw one of their best pitches who hasnt thrown yet in the tourny. Os had no fight in them..... But im sure they'll be ready to play when they face off with the bulldogs and I say this one will be a moster of a game, with both teams seasons on the line, look for emotion and hard play and a close one.
  15. Wartburg- 4 CSAS- 0 Wartburg continues to take care of business, but we will see how good they are come monday and tuesday when they face off with Coalfield.
  16. I guess you could call it that. They have 9 kids that put on uniforms, but they are not very good at all. Which is sad because they have a great player is Hawn, but he'd be lucky to get 2 Wins this year.
  17. Barnes, trout, and woody. Wartburg cannot play like they did tonight and expect to do anything at all, But they have a kid coming back this week, that hasnt been playing so far this year. Plays first i think. Should help them getting him back.
  18. Wartburg-10 Oneida- 9 A lot better game than last night.
  19. Wartburg-14 Oneida- 0 Daugherty threw for Wartburg. He had 14 K's in 5 innings.
  20. And They got alot closer than a whole bunch of other teams.
  21. What about barnes and woody from Wartburg? They are just as good as Daugherty. And just throw a little stat out there Daugherty in District games last year 5-4. So to say Wartburg has rode Daugherty in the district the past two years, isn't much because he only won them 5 games.
  22. Wartburg won tonight. Sounded like a great game on the radio. This makes the water in the district a little murky.
  23. I've heard the best player in the district wont get the shot to play. Sunbright lost their coach and a ton of seniors, leaving Ryan Hawn to fend for himself for his senior year. I've heard alot of stories about them not having a team, and For this kid to have to sit out his senior year would be a shame. He's extremely talented, but im sure He'll have the oppertunity to play after high school.
  24. Oneida won.... Have no clue about a score or what happened. I didn't get a chance to ask because my source was pretty upset about it.
