  1. I was there from the PRAYER to the Fat Lady, and the score was definitely 26 to 12. Fayette had 2 more scoring opportunities. Just before the half Fayette tried to snap the ball at the Gleason 1 yard line, but the ref started the clock and the play was over before it stopped. The score was not indicitive of the game. It could have very easily been 40 to 12. Gleason was a good team, but now that everyone is healthy at Fayette, things are different. Remember, Fayette played the toughest schedule in 1A football, and became a very good football team. This is so much fun, but none of it means anything. The real game will be played between the Taco Bell stands in McKenzie on Friday night for all of the marbles. Good Luck to both teams! Is Butchie really 6'7" tall, and look like Sasquatch???? We're good aren't we, Butchie? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. I look forward to meeting you, Butchie! I'll be the shirtless heavy guy with the red "V" on his chest. Good luck to both teams! I am hoping for an exciting game!
  3. Yeah, the choke thing was just alluding to the guy who has been chiding you all day. I am sure that this is going to be hard fought game for us against an athletic McKenzie Team. By the way, it's Somerville, pronounced "sumervul" to those of us who know and love Fayette County. We will bring everybody we can. All of our players are good, and we are very proud of our team. Thanks for the offer on the refs. Can we really do that? The points thing sounds great! 14 would be great, 21 even better, and I am sure someone out there is going to say that you would still whoop us with a 21 point spot. I realize that this a deal where the loser does not advance. Fayette Countians don't make excuses or blame others for our short comings. We pay tuition and pay taxes for the public schools. You are right, this ain't Gleason, but the Gleason coach said that we hit them harder than any team this season, including and especially McKenzie. Congratulations on the Taco Bell Tailgate thingy! We eat BarBQ in Fayette County. I don't get the run game comment. I sure hope you put eight boys in the box. That will be fun. I can't wait either. See you there! Ain't High School Football FUN?
  4. I heard somewhere that McKenzie was most likely going to choke /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> .
  5. I am so glad to see that every one is so sure that McKenzie will roll over Fayette Academy. It sounds like the Rebels are getting ready to play Jo Byrn. That is usually a fatal mistake...Please keep thinking that way and please keep preparing in your minds for Jo Byrn. I know it will a really good 1A football game, and the Vikings can tell you what happens when you go into a home playoff game with a 9-1 record from a weak schedule like McKenzie had this year. I am just saying that overlooking a team like Fayette Academy might just be a mistake, but it's too late now to change your attitude. Just keep the positive attitude. That old feeling will sneak up on the McKenzie boys on Friday afternoon, and it will set in hard around 2 minutes into the 1st quarter when they get hit harder than they have been hit all year long. Playing Dirty? I don't know about that, but when a high schooler gets hit hard and gets beat, the first thing they say is that the other player is cheating. The Vikings are resolute and disciplined. They are well coached and highly supported. There is going to be a sea of Red and White on the visitor side and they are going to be loud. Good luck to both teams. It is going to be a great game.
  6. It is amazing how everyone who has responded has done so with absolutely no knowledge of what is going on in the western part of the state. The simple fact that Halls was even mentioned was a laugh. They are a 2-8 4th seed who was murdered in the 1st round. No one knows anything about Jackson Christian, Union City, McKenzie or Fayette. These are 4 real possibilities. 1A is a new ballgame and you guys in the middle and east are going to have to take note of the east. Your little squabble is very sweet and I like the competitive spirit, but it is going to be very short lived. Remember, alot of your very good records posted this year are pretty weak. They played no one. I think you had better pay attention to the 2 games being played out of divisions 7 & 8 this year.
  7. Remember that Fayette and JCS both won out in 1A except for JCS beating Fayette. Like most regions and divisions, there are better teams and then usually a gap where the top teams in the region are not in the same class as the top 2 or 3 teams. In the case of UC shocking Halls, I hope that was stated tongue in cheek. It really seems that UC is looking past Fayette and getting ready for the home matchup with JCS. I applaud the concept and I would like to offer any information regarding JCS that UC might want so that they can study JCS this week before the Fayette game. I assure you that a well coached FA team with Wes Kennedy, Hal Montague, and Brandon Tucker will be ready and they will punch UC in the mouth from play one and the game will be a good one. What I am seeing as surprise that LC was beaten so badly is actually surprise that the level of competition at FA is higher than anyone expected. FA absolutely believes that they can beat UC. They plan to do just that and get a rematch of the 20-0 game at our house again against JCS. There is a calm resolve in the Viking camp to do this, and we will see Friday night. Good Luck to all of the playoff teams. I pray for safety and sportsmanship!
