  1. The report is as of right now that both schools will become AA
  2. Nobody has said anything about the coaches jobs being terminated. All that was said, is that there is no information out yet as to who will be coaching where. That is the principals jobs to hire coaches. Not the Director of Schools. All I was saying was that nobody still knows what will happen to the coaches as to where they will go. Not if they will be rehired. He will be rehired with a record like his. Dont you worry
  3. I spoke with Dr. Ragsdale, director of the Cumberland Co. school system, the other day. She informed me that no coaches have been hired except those who have been named for football. No, absolutely no news on the basketball coaching jobs has been let out. Hopefully the coaches don't make their decisions till the end of the season if they want to do whats best for the kids. Don't tell the kids you won't be back at their school midway through the season. Immediately when coaches are hired, Dr Ragsdale said, that the information has to be released to the public by law. So, don't worry, the news will arrive shortly. Coach Herring from South is a GREAT GREAT coach. He is a hard noser. That is why he didn't last. Moms and dads seemed not to like the ferocious attitude he displayed as he coached the girls. However, listen closely, the man knows basketball very well. He is a heck of a coach. I sure hope he just applies for the job. If he gets it, look out. The question would be if he would coach girls or guys.
  4. I do have my facts straight. The kids quit cause they don't like the hard work imposed by Coach Mike Buck. He has two rings from state titles. One as an assistant and one as head coach at Pickett County. I believe he knows how to win, but for some reasons the kids quit anyways. To be honest, there is a big boy about 6'8'' in the school that quit from the Northern end of the county. He could've been a real asset, but he couldn't handle it either. One more thing. A reason that kids are better at the Northern end of the county is partly due to having the best elementary coach at Crab Orchard, Ronnie Cox. That is a reason he is so good. You might be right about many kids staying at CCHS. Not if Buck leaves I bet. He has the trust of all his players. Most love him.
  5. Zoning is in effect. In Fact, HARD Zoning will be in effect. There is no choice as to where the kids will get to go. Only where you live. I can assure you if the things end up the way they have in the past, Stone Memorial will have a huge advantage athletically. They will have Homestead, Crab Orchard, Stone, and North elementaries feeding to them. That is where the majority of athletes come from. Some come from South, but most of those kids quit in the end. This is only what the past tells us though. Who knows what will happen in the future.
  6. if you are JET PRIDE, then why arent you posting the boys score????
  7. As many saw last night, the Raiders got beat by 3. Don't count out the Jets yet
  8. The basketball teams are going to be fine in cumberland county. The tendancy has been in the past that kids will quit because they can't handle the heat from Coach Buck and Coach Capps. However, with this new school, kids should begin to want to be a part of a rivalry that will be huge. If you don't believe me, then go watch the Elementary tournament and watch the Championship game. It is incredible how loud it gets and how much the fans are into it. So, this new school could help. However, whoever gets the job at Stone, that is exactly who will win the most games. All the kids that have been huge in the past few years, Danny Cumby, Brandon Houston, Cody Christopher, these guys have all game from Homestead and Crab Orchard. The Northern end of the county just brings better ball players in Cumberland. So, Ultimately basketball could be good still and probably will, but the Stone Memorial High School will most definitely be the best in guys.
  9. If Terrence play good and keith dodd grows up, there should be no reason why Bradley Co doesnt wipe the floor. Cumberland Co only scored 13 points in the first 3 quarters against Cookeville. They also only scored 13 points at halftime last night against White Co. I have only seen them play once and it was in Chattnooga. They looked horrible. No problem on this game for Bradley
  10. Cumberland girls still looked bad last night. They played selfish. There are too many girls on the team that want to score and have minutes. I heard that parents were calling the coach already and getting on to him about minutes. That is ridiculous. That Cumberland team could easily win the state but must quit turning the ball over, run at least one play per game, and play more as a team. They truly are something special but I believe some people think a bit too special.
  11. Cumberland lost to Lincoln Co. this weekend. What is up with that? They better get it together. They probably don't know who to play becuase they have so many good gaurds. In fact, they need to just run some plays instead of hoping some girl will do something heroic. I wonder if they will beat Cookeville Tuesday.
  12. Well I wouldve thought this game would be huge but Cumberland looked terrible this weekend according to the scores. Can they get it back together? I heard Cookeville is strong. Also is Cumberland really starting two freshman? That is crazy. I thought they had 5 seniors. Also, I heard Travis Rice didn't play. What is up with that? Isnt he a senior?
  13. The last three meetings have been relatively close with Cookeville winning all 3. However, Cumberland lost Cumby. They still have 5 seniors starting if they want. Cookeville lost Adison Smith. They too have a good lineup. But who will open the season 1-0. This game is a HUGE rivalry game. Last year, the first game between the two cookeville students covered the floor with toilet paper after the first basket. Its a huge game for both teams. Its always the first and last games of the season for both teams until tournament time. Who can win? Better yet, who will win?
  14. McMinn County boys have a long way to go. With Cobb last year, they got smashed in the Region Semis by Cumberland. Cumberland really wasn't much but Cumby. They had two other seniors Patterson and King. Patterson was just a role player and King wasn't much more than that either. However, despite that, Cumberland still whipped them. I hope McMinn County does do well this year but they better have worked hard in the offseason.
  15. I am sorry about forgetting Lindsay Smith. She might be the most athletic girl on the team. However, she gets crazy every once in awhile and if she can stay calm and not do to many crazy things she will be huge for the Jets this year I believe. Good luck to the Lady Jets.
