  1. except for the part where OS is 3rd lol...
  2. I voted for Clarkrange, but, dang, I figured the vote would alot closer than this...
  3. I may be mistaken, but according to the tournament results, Jackson Co. didn't even finish 2nd in the region...
  4. I've heard Milligan from a couple of people. Don't know how true it is...
  5. I actually met the guy from Gibson Co. who won that award for the SG/GC game. We were in the same hotel...
  6. You might be right. I really have no clue how they play at the elementary these days. I haven't watched a girls game down there in quite a few years...
  7. I would count Madison and Hampton in the top 5 since Madison finished 2nd in the state and Hampton finished tied for 3rd in the state. But I guess it makes too much sense to use the tournaments as a way to judge the teams...
  8. ??? umm, I thought HES has been killing everybody? Maybe I'm wrong...
  9. It would appear that success breeds expectations... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. After Clarkrange, there are a few teams who could beat each other on any given night. My other 4 teams, in no particular order, would be Hampton, Oliver Springs, Madison, and Forrest. You have to go with the teams in the semis and Forrest was the best team that wasn't in the Final 4. It's too hard to really rank 2-5...
  11. Who will be at the top of the Tri-County 7/East Tennessee next year? I know North Greene will be stacked and Hampton, Happy Valley, and Unicoi all return alot, but that's all I really know. What are Elizabethton, South Greene, Cloudland, and the other teams in NET A and AA gonna look like?
  12. they are not from the same region...
  13. Kayla Christopher is the best player in Class A regardless of who won the Class A Miss Basketball Award...
  14. Coach Tolleys head will not be able to fit through the doors of Hampton Elementary Monday morning...
  15. I figured this is the excuse you would give me. I've heard it all year, and I hope to hear it again tomorrow night. Hampton always gets told "our team had an off night" or "our shots just wouldn't go down." It's a funny thing to me that Hampton's opponents ALWAYS have an off night. It's called DEFENSE!!!
  16. Sorry, but it would not be a 20 point game. Grace is not a powerhouse like you think they are...
  17. I agree. Those are all fair points (although Wartburg was at the game at least 2 hours before tipoff and Cloudland would never lose a Regional Championship on purpose /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ) and Cloudland is better than a few of the teams that made it to Murfeesboro. All I'm saying is I can't see why Hampton is getting no credit...
  18. That 28% FG shooting was exactly what we were saying would win the game for Hampton. DEFENSE!!!
  19. We agree that the left side is the hard side of the bracket. But Hampton is right there with them and there is no way Oliver Springs could beat Hampton 10-15. Everyone that I've talked to from East Tennessee who has seen Hampton and Oliver Springs play numerous times, has came to the same conclusion. There was one guy who was telling me all year that Hampton was the better team, but I didn't believe him until the night of the sub-state games when I seen what Hampton and OS did against like opponents...
  20. I took it as a compliment. A Silver Ball is a great achievement. Not to say Hampton won't win the gold one because I believe they definitely can, but Clarkrange is the real deal... Well, I guess I'll make a prediction. I just can't see Hampton not winning this one. It looked as if Madison only had 1 player. I believe her name was Faulkner. I believe at one point she had something like 24 of Madison's 30 points, and this will not work against a Leon Tolley defense. Heck, I think Madison only had 9 points at halftime, and we all thought Pickett Co. was gonna run them out the gym in the 2nd half. Madison had a purty good press that won them the game. But I think Hampton has too many ball handlers and are too fast for this press to be effective. I honestly believe the team that Hampton just beat is better than the one the Lady Dogs will be facing tomorrow. Conrnersville had 2 or 3 girls who could create their own shots and score, and I just didn't see that with Madison. The Dogs defense, press, and pushing of the ball just wore Cornersville out, and I expect the same thing tomorrow. And it isn't like Hampton played extraordinary against Cornersville. The Lady Dogs made a ton of unforced turnovers and were terrible at the foul line. But it never felt like Hampton was ever in jeopardy of losing, and it was not as close as the 49-40 score... Hampton by 13...
  21. I'd say he's counting North Greene who was ranked in the Top 10 almost all year in the human polls. They're definitely one of the best 25 1A teams in the state. I have a feeling we will be hearing much more from them next year...
  22. Are you serious? Clarkrange is VERY tough, but let's not get carried away with Oliver Springs. Hampton beat Cloudland 3 times this year. It took Oliver Springs 3 overtimes on Oliver Springs' home floor to beat Cloudland in sub-state. Hampton beat Wartburg by 27 in sub-state. Oliver Springs beat Wartburg by 1 in the Regional Championship. It looks to me like Hampton is at least the 2nd best 1A team in Murfeesboro right now...
  23. This game should be a good one. Hampton is playing exceptional and hasn't even trailed in a game in 11 quarters. I'm not going to make a prediction, but I am going to say that by watching the Madison game before ours, I think Cornersville would be advancing to the semis if they had played either Madison or Pickett Co...
  24. Humboldt, Bolivar, and Bearden...
  25. This was a great game to watch. I absolutely love the win considering Cloudland was screwed by the TSSAA, but they went to Rockwood and they are still goin to the Boro. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> This game might also been the worst I've seen Cloudland look the whole year. Morgan couldn't seem to get going (until the final 2 minutes) and the Landers missed 7 or 8 layups and shot terrible at the foul line. I'm not sure, but I think Morgan was 0-5 from the line, and that will not happen often. Despite Cloudland's offensive struggles, their defense and Rockwood's lack of anyone who can handle the ball (besides Raby) propelled the Landers to the victory... I guess there is no argument now to which District is the best in Upper East Tennesssee 1A. District 1 and District 3 both had 2 teams in the sub-state and each district has one team headed to Murfeesboro. But when you look at the heads-up matchups, District 1 is 8-1 vs. District 3 teams this year...
