  1. Have no idea CoachF. Not sure there is a discreet way for us to determine that either. Its possible I suppose.
  2. Congrats on your win yesterday. Just wanted to respond to your post. If you will read closely I did preface my comments with the fact that I was guessing on most of my predictions based on the addition of new teams to the district such as East Literature and Montessori. At the time of my post Montessori was scheduled to play a full season. This was prior to the news they were closing the school. Since E Literature was new and no one seemed to know anythiing about their baseball team I really couldn't predict them any higher. I would be interested in seeing your predictions for 10A since you know more about your own school than anyone else here. Seems your pitcher must have had a great day againt WHH with 14k's. Its still very early but I think the better the competition the stronger 10A will be this year. Welcome to East Literature and look forward to playing you guys. Would love to hear from someone at WHH and get their version of how this game went and what their opinion of E. Literature has this year.
  3. Your so right ....Kennedy's dad does like to shop ...I would doubt very seriously that he ends up at BA ..they just have too much talent, plus he will be a JR next year. Now CPA is another story, very possible there but I predict conflict between pop and the head coach at CPA ....way too much alike in personality. This kid is good and its a shame he can't find a place to call home. I know several schools that would love to have him though CPA, Nashville Christian, Lipscomb, Brentwood High School not sure where he is zoned for public school. Also wonder if Dad comes as a package deal with this kid.
  4. First of all, I don't trash talk. Just stating facts here ....ER is a big school compared to NCS so let me just be clear here. ER dressed out 15 players and at any time could go 9-10 deep on the bench. Not complaining here just stating fact ..NCS could go 6 maybe 7 toward the end of season. Big difference in post season. I have never trash talked toward ER ....have admitted many times they are the better team and deserve to be in the state and actually hope they win the state. But you can't deny that ER is a bigger school ....that is all i was saying. Forgot about Tico Andrews and yes he is a player for sure ....thought he was a Sr. Good luck to ER this week.
  5. Interesting they are closing the HS ....lack of enrollment must be the problem. They also dropped baseball this year at the last minute so people were suspecting something over there. As for Kennedy, my guess is he will go back to Ezell Harding where he transfered from unless he left under bad circumstances. Wherever he goes that team will be very fortunate to have him. This kid is a good player without a doubt. East Robertson will still have Fuqua and Clinard and some other kids who got some playing time this year. ER is big enough school to reload without much problem thye must have carried 20 something kids on that roster this year. WHH , Jo Byrns and East Lit will also be prety good. East Lit is also big enough to pull 7-8 more players ready to play next year so you can't count them out at all. McEwen was playing very good basketball toward the end of the season but i know they lost some kids Smith particularly so will just have to wait and see how they do. NCS needs to add 1-2 key starters to replace the seniors leaving ...plus it would help to have a couple more bench players get more minutes ...what hurt NCS this year was depth in the post season.
  6. Voldad

    Wind Damage

Nashville Christian got hit pretty hard also. Lost the complete roof off home team dugout and tool room. Roll away blown thru the open backstop being built and turned on its side. Lost all power to the lighting system, whick was in that tool room. Hopefully will be back up and running within a couple of weeks ....might need to swap out some games scheduled during spring break but should be back to normal pretty soon ...thanks to lots of volunteers at NCS. All help needed and appreciated.
  7. Good luck to you guys. I am sure the tema thanks yo ufor your nice words. Wish we could have made it a double 10A state entry for East and NCS but the thought of possibly having to play you guys again for the 5th time this year just makes my skin crawl ...LOL. Just trying to say I truly wouldn't want a 5th beating this year. You guys are good and hope you win the state for your school and your fellow 10A teams. Will be looking for the scores to your games ....take it to Grace Baptist and move on.
  8. Congrats to East Robertson and district 10A. Great season and you deserve to be in the state you earned it. And for those of you that have the opinion that East will be easy target and go out in first round. My first question ....have you seen them play and if so, how many games have you seen them play? My guess is that you haven't seen them play many if any at all or you would not be saying these things. All I know is after watching them beat NCS 4 times this year ....this team is strong all around. It has its weaknesses but overall they are solid. If they go out in the first round then so be it ... once yo uget into the state the competition just gets so tough you never know. I hope they go all the way and represent disctrict 10A well. Good luck and play hard.
  9. Just read a article in the Tennesean this morning about Wayne Co ...it quoted the coach saying they hoped to win a state title this year as pay back for not winning it last year. Didn't say anything at all about the game with NCS tonight. Guess its just an automatic thing for them to just pass over the fact they have a game to win tonight first. But that is how confident the coach is I suppose. He was only talking about winning the state and bringing the single A title back to the mid state for the first time since 1999. I am even more nervous now than before about going down there. Does NCS have any chance at all in the game ?
  10. Just wondering how things are looking for everyone now that basketball is over for everyone but East Robertson and Nashville Christian. Any scrimmages or updates on pitching staff ...? Just looking for info around the district. Can't wait till season starts. East Robertson and NCS still playing basketball as of tonight in sub-state, that could end for either of them but i think E Robertson looks pretty strong to continue. Oh well, this is a baseball board so I'll keep to that subject. Just looking for anything you might wasnt to share about your teams.
  11. Nashville Christian has been the underdog in just about every game they played this year. The Coach likes to play a pretty tough schedule which is evident with this years opponents. The fact is this team is very young and pretty small and from a very small school. Wayne Co shows it has at least 360-380 students ...NCS has 170. They are the underdog for sure. Just not certain they have the depth to keep up with such a big team. As someone mentioned earlier ....it will come down to who controls the boards i think. NCS has a senior #52 and a soph #55 and that is it down low. No depth off the bench at all ....in size. So we will just have to see how it goes. Underdog ? I would say so ...hope we can just keep up. Good luck NCS !!!
  12. Well lets just put it this way. East Robertson beat NCS 4 times this year. They won the district and the region. They start 4 Seniors have size, speed, experience and skill inside and outside. They were part of a very good district this year and played some very good teams. The teams we saw in the region from 9A just didn't compare in any way to the teams in 10A. East Robertson has a very good chance to go all the way in the state as long as they can control #1 Wilks and #10 Fuqua's attitude on the floor. They don't need that cocky stuff and trust me when they get to state some of the teams they will be seeing won't put up with it. Takes away from the skills and the attitude of some of the other players they have that carry this team. Fosnes is a class act and lets his play do the talking on the floor ..these other guys could learn from his example ...even Clinard as a sophomore knows how to compete without having to be cocky and arrogant. East Robertson is a very good team top to bottom ..has skill and depth and should go all the way if they can keep their heads out there. GO 10A !!!
  13. Interesting that you would just point out # 3 and #52 ...thanks for not mentioning the others who hurt you guys in the last game. By the way #55 pulled down 9 rebounds against you guys too .....might not be much offensively but sure stopped your inside game ...which isn't much anyway. Maybe if you know so much about NCS you should have used it to win against them. Keep pulling for region 9a against a fellow 10A team. That should help you guys remain so popular within your own region. NCS is a real underdog in this Wayne Co game. After reading this board ...no one giving them a chance. Might as well not even go and just forfiet. Never know ...this team is so young and small they might just hold on and make it a game.
  14. From your post, I get the feeling you think its either middle school ball or travel team...those are your choices. Not sure where you are from but in this area of Nashville middle scholl has nothing to do with rec ball or travel teams. Most travel teams do not start their schedules until school ball is over anyway. And most middle schoolers are not playing travel ball to begin with. It will make rec ball start late but I beleive kids can do both until they enter high school unless the middle school coach won't let them play rec ball until the season is over. There are very few negatives involved in middle school ball unless the coach doesn't know what he is doing. Can only benefit the high school program ..especially if the two coaches are on the same page in coaching the kids. If a kid had the desire and skill to play travel summer ball then by all means encourage him to play ..can only make him better. I just don't see it as a one or the other situation ....let them do both if they are good enough. Two different issues here ....school ball vs travel ball ....do both if you want to get better.
  15. Congrats to East Robertson team for a great season and clean sweep of district and region. The reality of this year for NCS was they just didn't match up well against East Robertson and they just got beat. Not much more you can say about that.... 4 times in one year pretty much sums it up. Not many scenerios where two teams play eachother 4 times in one season anyway. You have to give NCS credit though ....not many people expected them to be this far. This is a pretty young/small team compared to who they have faced. Not making any excuses because none are needed. hey deserve to where they are right now. Congrats to both teams for progressing on to sub state and good luck next week in your games. Represent district 10A with class and sportsmanship.
  16. Wasn't sure what the rule was but no worry. Basketball still playing in sub state so none of the basketball players will be playing in that scrimmage anyway.
  17. Well put lawdog ...good recap of district 10A this year. Your so right, any team on any given night could beat anyone with the exception of maybe a couple of teams. McEwen was playing great ball toward the end of the season (when it counts) and desrved to be in the region for sure. Schools should learn something from this year. Don't start trash talking too soon cause you might find yourself talking that trash from your living room during regionals and state. Not going to mention any names but people know who I'm talking about. District 10A should be proud of the teams it is sending to sub state. Good luck to both teams after tonight on into the sub state and state.
  18. Thank you ....good luck to you guys also. Houston County girls should win the state. Good team ...play hard ...and good luck.
  19. Been a good tournament as far as i can tell. Refs have been good overall except for last night. 10A has pretty much been the dominate district but teams have been good. Just confirming game time tonight for boys championship game ...my understanding its game time at 7:30 ....if anyone has confirmed a different time ...please let me know.
  20. Just an opinion here. Way too early to be predicting anything at NCS baseball. Hence your statement regarding 8-9 baseball players still playing basketball, some of those players have been working out but most have not. Out of those 9 players 7 of them started last season. So go figure ....no need to get too cocky here. NCS had a good season last year but so did other teams in the district along with Jo Byrns winning it all. Just a suggestion ....be humble and work hard and leave the predictions to others. While its fun to review and speculate how the teams are going to stack up you can never really predict how a certain team (East Robertson) is going to do based on last year. From what i hear they have a very good pitcher in Clinard and other who have improved from last year. Take a lesson from White House Heritage basketball season and fans on here ...ask them how it worked out for them when they were talking all season about winning the district and how much better they were than others. NCS has a pretty good group of kids this year and several have been working very hard while the basketball team plays in the district and regionals ..hopefully that hard work will sustain us while the basketball guys get in baseball shape. This district will continue to improve with each team ....no one is safe here anymore. Everyone must improve from game to game....season to season ...or they will be left behind.
  21. Wow...can't believe we are playing eachother again...4th time this year. I must admit its exciting to be in the regional finals and even more special that we are playing another team from our district. Just not that happy about having you play you guys again....wonder why .... but not complaining here. We knew that either you or East lit were our opponents so it didn't really matter just happy its someone from district 10A. Having lost to you guys 3 times already this year what can be said. You guys have a very strong team and we just need to work harder to beat you. Just hope we have good refs tonight and the game isn't decided by bad calls on the floor. Good luck to everyone tonight and lets play it on the floor. Also congrats to East Literature for a really great season and good team. Too bad all 3 teams from 10A couldn't advance to the sub state ..all deserve to be there.
  22. Good question.....no one seems to know why that ref called the technical. There was a foul called on NCS #10 and #3 for NCS had the ball in his hands. He bounce passed the ball to the ref and he was called for a technical. Doesn't make sense but if you were at the game, this was the same ref that was calling everything against NCS during the whole game even up to the end when time was running out. He started calling fouls against Eagleville when it seemed the only reason was the stop the clock to benefit Eagleville. This guy was horrible all night and was looking for a chance to make a statement. I hope we got his name and reported him to TSSAA. Thank goodness the other two guys were decent refs or this guy would have really affected the outcome of this game ...almost did anyway.
  23. Had to leave after the NCS game. Anyone have any more details of the game. Must have been a great game...wondering if they had the same refs NCS had tonight. One of those guys was awful acted like this game was his first high school game to ever call. He just got a look in his eye about mid way thru the 3rd qtr and was not going to give NCS a call the rest of the night. NCS won but this guy was horrible ...I hope he reads this board ... he should ashamed of himself for calling such an important game for both teams in such manner. Way too much attention given to the crowd ...should have been paying more attention to what was happening on the court. I just think this particular game was too fast for him to keep up. Congrats to NCS in spite of this guy. Hope someone can give more details of this double overtime game between E Robertson and E Literature. Can East Robertson beat NCS 4 times in one season. Unfortunately my feeling is yes. And I am a NCS fan, guess we will see sonn enough. Good luck to both teams .
  24. Interesting that you won't give McEwen much credit for playing Eagleville close the other night ...blaming it on fatigue or lack of knowledge of the teams or whatever. I have a felling it was because McEwen played a good game and almost bet you guys. And when you say your team is small but quick ....I was doing a little research and noticed 4 out of 5 starters are 6' or taller. That isn't small compared to NCS or McEwen for that matter. You guys are much bigger than Nashville Christian and seems that most people are not giving NCS much of a chance against the 9A champions. Guess we will just have to wait and see. Congrats to both teams for making it to the semi finals. Let the best team win.
  25. Thanks Dossman for the input ...just curious ...since i know very little about Eagleville why you think they will win over Nashville Christian ...do you know both teams well? Between East Robertson and East Literature ...these teams have gone at it all year with them spliting during the regular season i think. NCS split with East Literature during the reg season and beat them in the district but lost the East Robertson 3 times ...two in regular season and again in the district championship game. I just know that East Lit and E Robertson game will be a barn burner thats for sure. If Nashville Christian can get their shooters going they can will this game. Defense will tell the story in this game. Just my opinion ....
