  1. My bad on the slip. Forgot that he was going with his dad to Independence. However, you guys won't be getting a qb any better that the Scurlock kid and with him all you did was play a weak schedule, go undefeated, an lose early. Once again, SC fans, you aren't getting Max Staver so don't get too hyped over a kid that none of you have seen throw a football yet.
  2. Well, let me help you guys who are uneducated Smith County fans and really don't have a clue about football outside of mediocre Upper Cumberland. You guys DID NOT land Max Staver. He has been the starting quarterback at Brentwood Academy for a few years and is a Florida signee. Smith County is getting some kid down on the depth chart who never saw any action outside of JV or possibly in clean up spots. The fact is Smith County is still way down on the food chain. You guys weren't even close to being relevant in 3A this year and getting a quarterback does not make you a contender. CPA will still be looming in your half of the bracket and Vic Wharton and crew will run roughshod over the Owls if they make it that far. Hope it works out for Smith County, but until they've done something substantial in the playoffs, I won't ever buy that they are contenders.
  3. It's not the boys? I guess our kids can overcome being smaller and slower than the other team. Macon's kids need to get on the weights in the worst way. We're two games into the season and Okpaul believes he has it all figured out. If you can't spell, you can't comprehend what it is that is going on out there. How about not posting and making the people in Macon County look more intelligent. Okpaul makes the whole town look backwards.
  4. I've listened to all the stupidity that I care to. Okpaul, I loved your criticizing of the program. Also, I love how your "constructive criticism" consists of, "Coach Goolsby can't coach his way of a wet paper sack," or "u suck." Your criticism is as bad as your ability to illustrate. Literacy must be a problem for you......of course it does take a certain amount of intelligence to know how to communicate. Whenever you master this and can tell us the technical reasons as to why you think the Tiger staff is not doing their jobs then please enlighten us. Until then, please refrain from posting and hopefully you'll do what your dad should have done and use a condom. Macon County football is a work in progress. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is a successful football program. The offense is much improved over last year. The defense will be better, but it will take a solid effort from the players IN THE OFF SEASON in the weight room. Defensively, they get into the right spots, but due to the Tigers being young and undersized, the team has trouble getting people on the ground. Building stronger, smarter football players takes time and a lot of it....not a few months. Macon County has been noted in the past for not giving coaches much time to build a solid program. The community needs to support the program during these times, rather than aimlessly criticizing like the inept Okpaul.
  5. Macon County fans who bash the coaches with striking regularity, please listen to what I have to say because I seldom ever post and probably won't ever but...... TAKE A LOOK ON THE THREADS AND SEE THAT EVERYONE IS MAKING FUN OF YOU AND THE PROGRAM BECAUSE YOU TALK CRAP ABOUT COACHES ON HERE! Macon County has NEVER had a good name in the area because of how other coaches have been done there. Also, with how parents who either didn't play football or pee wee football coaching gods, talk about the coaches who do this as a part of their living. You guys are taking it to new levels. Instead of filling up this board with needless rambling about coaches, why don't you save the words you are going to put on here and use those words in a man to man conversation with whichever coach you have a gripe with. It is usually the ones who talk the most that know the least and I think this could be the case at Macon County. Winning and doing it consistently is a tough venture. Look how tough it has been for Macon County over the past probably 40 years. You guys can field a few good teams randomly, but never consistently. I'd venture to say, also, that some of these football whiners were probably a part of some of those down and out Tiger teams who have struggled greatly for wins. You guys should know better than most how hard it is to win football games. Either way, good luck to all parties involved. I hope this situation in Lafayette can reach a peaceful resolve before further bludgering of the Macon County football name can be done.
  6. Ok you obviously have me mistaken for someone else. Muffin I never went to college. Would have liked to but never had the money to go. Sulpher queen I have no idea where you are coming from. I don't write for a newspaper. I'm a nine to five' er like the rest of you guys.
  7. Hello all, I've not been on to post in awhile because unlike swanson and some of the other geniouses in the Macon area, I do have what they call a life and other things interest me more than talking to people that can't speak clear and thoughtful sentences. First of all, RBS being ranked no. 1 in the AP is the biggest joke that I've ever heard before in my life...it does hurt that members of the press aren't any smarter than that to pick RBS as the top team. Everyone goes crazy because they have one decent team in the past 200 years. In all actuality they have played one tough team twice, was lucky as crap to play them close in one contest and in the other got their rear end handed to them. And to the senator guy that posted saying that RBS should play tougher competition, you are exactly right. If you want to be a contender then you need to find the big boys and hit them up. But the coach down there likes the easy wins. He took his team all the way to Eagleville to pick up a few easy wins rather than play in a tournament (the one in Lafayette which is really a joke itself) where RBS never does anything. I think the coach down there knows that he should get all the wins now because he knows that come post season they won't be getting them anymore. His kids don't develop enough to win when it counts. It wouldn't be suprising to me that they will play with Clarkrange and maybe even luck up and beat them at home like they did a few years ago. But I promise you that once tournament time rolls around, RBS will not be within single digits of either Clarkrange or Jackson County. RBS teams, both boys and girls never play any defense, they don't know how. Thats why you never see anyone from their go to college. They aren't developed enough and like they do in Macon Co. they are taught that playing basketball is the greatest thing that they will ever do. If thats the case then I pitty those people. Anyways, thats my qualm of the week....I'm sorry that the people in Clay County and Red Boiling, and also Macon have missed my words of wisdom. Now I'll sit back and watch all the pathetic words from gotmilk and swanson...I need a good laugh so just keep posting guys. And also sulpher city queen....you like your post stinks. Last time you looked into the crystal ball you said that the RBS girls would beat Jackson County because Jackson County had lost some games since you all had played them. You see Jackson County plays good teams and will be better for it while you guys play the sisters of the poor.
  8. So little has happened in RBS basketball history that a fluke close loss to Jackson County is viewed as the turning point in their history. They can hang the banner of that accomplishment with all the other crap banners "19whatever RBS Xmas Tourny runner up 18-13." Wow what an accomplishment. To lose 13 games but finish runner-up in the crappiest tournament in the state. I saw the heavy weights you guys had over there, it was a really tough tournament. It is good to see that the Lady Bulldogs are asserting themselves as serious state contenders playing the likes of Merrol Hyde and Trousdale County. Like devilfanatic said before, Jackson County girls are not even bothered by such teams as RBS. They are playing for tournament time. Of course your coach down there doesn't know how to prepare for the big games, how many has he won? How many districts recently have they won? Coach Brown knows how to develop players where Coach White develops teams that doesn't develop. By the end of the season, Jackson will smoke RBS by 20+ easily. The idiots in RBS are really in a wad about me and I think its funny plus I have a guy in Lafayette more fired up now than ever before. I guess I made tennisguy see the light because he is getting a little more fired up in his posts and is going after people like he used to. Well tennisguy you can't polish a piece of crap and I'm still calling you as a sell out.
  9. Swanson makes everyone look smarter when it comes to his posts. He is about par with the rest of the mental giants over that way though . I know I'm jumping threads but thats ok. You said I wouldn't respond back to you Swanson, well no I won't respond 3 minutes after you've said something because I'm not some guy that spends all of my waking hours here on coacht, you have no life pal. And to tennisguy, I was on here looking at everyone's post back when you went no holds barred and said a lot of the same stuff that I do. But I've noticed over the past year or so you've lost your edge. You don't talk as much crap as you used to about everyone around here. I know why too, we have a friend in common from Hartsville and he/she told me that it was probably the fact that your job probably keeps you from talking crap on here. What a wuss! I used to like your posts, I didn't agree with much of what you were saying but you did speak your mind and irritate a lot of people which I like to do . But you sold out so I have no respect for you! And back to Swanson and some guy that has a great deal of feminimity because he calls himself muffin. I'll watch you two talk on here and I'll just give my comments when need be because as long as you two are talking, everyone knows who the fools are!
  10. You need to follow something else mcfollower. As offended as you are about my posts, I'm even more offended that you think I'm from Hermitage Springs! The best thing they could do to that town is consolidate and build a better road through there to get to Dale Hollow. I don't have a team, I'm a fan of the game of basketball. I compliment people when I see fit and I give criticism when I see fit. I have watched people post on here for a long time now, just laughing about how lame some of these posts are. By the way MC, lets talk about your team. Your girls are the cellar dwellars of 7AA and your boys have been in mired in mediocracy probably since you were born. Like I've stated in a previous post, the only thing that keeps Lafayette from being totally like Red Boiling Springs and Hermitage Springs is that you guys have a Wal-Mart which is probably the nicest building that most people in that town has been in.
  11. The only people that would fuss about Jackson County being in A is the RBS fans because this will be the closest that RBS will play them for the next four years because of the skyscraper that is coming up next year. They will have the best teams they will ever have but you won't know it because they won't be able to outcoach Lamar Rogers or Jim Brown. Talent wise they can play with them, but as I said before that talent won't develop, it never does in RBS. I think White knows team basketball down there alright, but as far as developing a player as an individual, he falls way short. Thats the reason they have had great junior high teams down there and mediocre highschool teams. They will brag about stealing some wins over Jackson County in junior high but the girls there will get better and develop, plus new players will come into Jackson County to play for Coach Brown. Plus Clarkrange has the best freshman class they have ever had up there which is saying a lot for a man that has won the thing seven times which if I'm not mistaken is seven more times than the mastermind has even been to the state tournament. Of course you guys can talk about your TNT state junior high championships which isn't even recognized by the TSSAA as the state championships. If you want to talk crap about how good you are then go get a bite of the TMSAA where the competition is a whole lot tougher. That is the best post season jr. high tournament but there are so many that call themselves the state tourny that is really too divided up. Not taking away from the girls accomplishments at all, but if Coach White is going to talk about how good of a group his girls are in jr high year in and year out he needs to hop to the TMSAA!
  12. Alright, Swanson, one of my least favorite posters finally got back on here and blasted me....I've been waiting for this because anytime he speaks, nonsense comes forth. You said that you have talented players but you guys always have young teams...this doesn't make any sense to me because young teams eventually become older, more experienced teams. Is that how you explain your lack of success over the years? "Ah we were just too young and inexperienced." Making excuses for short comings in the post season seems to be a talent that you guys have down in RBS. And you also talk about how tough your schedule is now and what it is ranked. What is it going to matter when you guys get bounced from the postseason without even a whiff of the district or region championship? You guys set your goals awfully low over there but I guess since you've not accomplished anything really in recent history then you have nothing to build off of and set goals towards. Then you try to talk about the caliber of players over there and you threw out a few names. Meador was a good basketball player and Leonard will be a sensation, BUT you guys have had good players come out before, especially when everyone in the community gets their drawers in a wad over a good jr. high prospect thinking that they are UT or UCONN bound and they end up not even being able to get on at Vol State. Though you have a good bunch now, they will still underachieve because of lack of development, not out of lack of effort. When it comes down to it, you cannot beat Jackson County or Clarkrange because they develop players where you all can't.
  13. Well if your RBS education will allow you to read the rest of my post then you will see what I'm getting at. I do understand that I may have to dumb my post down and use "you un's or holler" for you to understand but I can give you a dumbed down, edited version of my post if need be.
  14. An idiot? And the people that post on these boards are really intelligent let me tell ya. The thread we are on right now is littered with the ramblings of RBS people and yourself who I don't really know where your from though I think you are a Lafayette guy which isn't much better. The only thing that keeps you guys relatively in civilization is the fact that you have a Wal-Mart. And no I'm not from Hermitage Springs. If you read this post and the previous one that I posted you will see that I speak in coherent sentences and I logically make statements based on facts. In Hermitage Springs they can talk about how they are going to be second or third or whatever in the district when they haven't done anything before to make anyone think that. Of course people down there never get out of the hole they call a town so I guess their thinking has been warped over the years.
  15. I would like to welcome myself to coacht. I for years have been a casual observer, never wanting to post a comment, just laugh at some of the idiotic and appreciate some of the very good posts. The first thing I want to do is comment on Red Boiling Springs. This is the town that thinks in the grand scheme of things they are so significant when they really don't amount to a hill of beans. I'm talking about their basketball team of course. Red Boiling beat Westmoreland in two out of three games last year. But what did RBS do when it matter, they were one and done in the post season where Westmoreland picked it up and went to state. This is an all too common of a theme in RBS. Their history in boys and girls is lined with post season collapses and failures. The boys is too obvious to pick at so I will jump with on the girls. Every year they have talented, hard working players, that I will not take away from them. And every year you will always hear of a girl or two in junior high that the town thinks will sign with UT. But they never get any better, they always peak as a freshman. I don't think its the lack of effort from the kids, I just don't think they develop players down there very well. Its easy to win in the season, but when you get into district and region tournaments, when coaches have seen you at least twice now then coaching makes a difference. This leads to their post season collapses. I think as players, they just don't get developed down there, when was the last time anyone from RBS in boys or girls signed a scholorship to play? There has been a few, Rick Spivey for example, but for all the hype there are never any results. Therefore RBS pulled out a win tonight, but when it really matters they will come up short yet again. Its in their blood over there to not accomplish in the post season!
