  1. There is a rumor circulating about Buck and the Fayette Ware job. Heard anything?
  2. Hey Yankee, quick question: Have you heard anything about the Middleton boys coaching job?
  3. I have seen Buckner play and have had a conversation or two with him when he played in Middleton last year and this past season. He presented himself to me as a very likeable kid and obviously a great talent. That's just one person's opinion of the kid.
  4. Congrats to LA on a great season. Many schools would love to make the state tourney two straight years. Props to the team and coaching staff on a great season and good luck in the future. Great job Bolivar and GO TIGERS!!!!!!
  5. Seriously, I'm not gonna make this game............... But, all smack talk aside, I wish the fans of both teams Good Luck and safe travel to and from M'boro. ps. Humboldt and Manassas got this party jumping!
  6. Congrats to Manassas. 1 down and 2 to go. REP THE WEST!!!!!!!
  7. Let me give you some real info on Bolivar...........In the summertime, Bolivar scrimmages against guys like Willie Kemp, Wayne Chism, Brian Lake, Ashley Champion, Cameron Crisp, and Frank Holmes just to name a few. This team is tested and they will go as far as their talent takes them. For the record, I'm not even picking Bolivar to win because I know next to nothing about the Livingston Hogeyes. I'm just putting the "strength of schedule/competion" thing to rest.
  8. LOL! We've "been there, done that" with the quarterfinal round. Bolivar fans aren't gonna get excited unless we make it all the to Saturday. Keep in mind, in West TN, we play big games against great competition weekly (Liberty, Northside, Covington, Memphis city, etc.......) Nothing to really "jump up and down" about yet.
  9. Elvis Mitchell did go on to play at Union. He actually set several scoring records at Union. Bolivar has really turned out some serious hoops talent over the years. BTW, since when did a play day scrimmage (especially one without key players, mind you) become a barometer for a team's success in M'boro?
  10. So...............................You're picking Livingston? Great, that's fair. My pick is (surprise) BTW.
  11. Papatiger can down Bolivar all he wants. My problem with him is that he never actually PICKS A TEAM TO WIN. He just picks Bolivar to lose. Heck, that's easy because 7 out of 8 teams will lose. Man up and pick a winner. Then come back when it's over.
  12. Nice post......Thanks for the info. The truth is every team is good at this level. Anything can happen in M'boro. I do know that this was the time slot that Bolivar wanted, Wed at 5. I don't think they really cared who the opponent was. They are all great teams at this point.
  13. adsmom86 I bleed Bolivar green and Rudesill is a great coach, BUT Coach Williams always has his teams ready. I can see Liberty making noise again in AA. (BTW, My early pick for 2009-2010 is Jaxon Northside.>)
  14. East TN has better lineman. Football is won in the trenches......................Now, back to hoops. A - West Tn AA Crapshoot AAA West Tn
  15. So, DC is moving up to AAA? Didn't know that.
  16. #45 for Marshall Co. is a special player. That kid is the truth. I saw one of the Univ of Memphis asst. coach at the game tonight. Always good to see the college guys there. Bolivar played their best game of the year tonight. They may be putting it all together at the right time.
  17. I've not seen GC play, but their body of work speaks for itself. GC may have a little too much firepower for us (Bolivar). But I think we have enough talent to make it "interesting". We'll see ya there.
  18. Pearl-Cohn is larger than Bolivar and they play in the same district as CPA. So, I don't understand the comment. Of course, this comment would never have been made had CPA won the ball game. Anyway, congrats to CPA on a great season and good luck to Bolivar in M'boro.
  19. Bolivar is a real hard team to make a call on. When they really come out and want to play, they are a great basketball team.........................Then again, sometimes Bolivar will give you an effort like they did in the Waverly game. They're just a tough team to judge. Still, I wouldn't bet against them at home. They've lost 2 games in two years at home so I'll take the home team.
  20. Should be a great game. I really wish the "powers that be" would stagger these games on Monday and Tuesday nights so people could attend more.
  21. AA is a crapshoot this year. Anybody can win it. Getting to M'boro is the first step, which still isn't a given for Bolivar or anyone else. But it's a 3 game tourney once you get there and anything can happen, especially this year. There are NO dominant teams in AA.
  22. Any Memphis people seen Ray Parks play at St. Georges? I heard he was the truth as well.
  23. Yeah, Btown's actually right about that. Bolivar's two leading scorers basically spent the first half of the Waverly game watching from the bench....................and they scored 1 pt in the 2nd quarter.
