What does Melrose have coming back this year? Do they have any "high major" prospects? I usually get to see them twice each year (Bridges classic and playoffs). Anyone got any insight?

Yeah, that's kinda what I was hinting at. I just don't see any grounds for a lawsuit as was suggested by a previous post. BTW, the new Director has some "different" ideas. I don't know the story with Weedon or Coach Randall. However, in public education, classroom teachers are tenured after so many years of service and have to be given a reason for dismissal. I may be mistaken, but I don't think administrative positions earn tenure. I think the director can pretty much reassign them where he/she wants. Truth is, companies eliminate positions everyday (downsizing, layoffs, etc.).

He is a shifty little sonovagun. Anyone know if he participated in any camps or combines? I'd like to know his exact measureables. It wouldn't surprise me to see a school like Ole Miss or Miss St give him a look at DB if his top end speed is good enough. Just a thought.

LOL. Dude was a middle school legend. I remember reading in the Commercial Appeal that Timothy Ware has "announced" that he will attend HIGH SCHOOL at BTW. Had some good seasons at BTW. I honestly thought they were going to win the AA c'ship last year.

All of those linemen graduated. Bolivar is actually loaded with skill players (Overton, Pirtle, Ross, Feltus, Jimenez). But, the lines have to rebuild. Several new coaches as well so who knows what to expect.

When is the first day of practice?

Interesting read. In addition to Clyde Wade, I thought Cal did a good job with Antonio Burks and Andre Allen as well. My $0.02: I really think that many kids want to be the "show" and Cal lets them know that he will continue to bring in top of the line talent, thus reducing playing time. Some players like the competition (Kemp). Some don't (Mack). Regardless, I think it is a given that UM will be an annual Top 10 program as long as Cal is there. It is a great situation for both UM and Coach Cal. I see at least 5 more years of high level play.

For all the success that Coach Cal has had in recruiting, he hasn't done as well with Memphis kids. Maybe Andre can help there. Good luck to Coach Valentine and Coach Turner in their new opportunities.

I could be wrong but I think the public vs public this year is Covington vs Ridgeway. Many of the Memphis schools already have their schedules posted on this site.

Jeremy's situation is as unique as any I've ever heard of. I wish this kid the best. He has overcome a lot..............................................but still has a long way to go. On a side note, and totally off the topic, we don't have many Fayette-Ware posters on this board. However, a Fayette-Ware basketball player collapsed and passed during a scrimmage game yesterday. Please keep the school and those kids in your prayers.

Gavin Hardin just signed his LOI to play for Miami. Not sure of any others at this time. (Daniel Brooks transferred from UT to Jackson St. and Ryan Scott has used up his eligibility at Memphis.)
