  1. Mike Bryant, Chris Gray & Justin Bather from Lavergne were invited.
  2. The Next Level: A Prep's Guide to College Recruiting by Joe Hornback I highly recommend this paperback book for college recruiting (not just D-I). It contains some awesome information on what the athlete, as well as parents, should expect in the recruiting process. I got mine through Amazon.com for about $10. It gives the same advice as TIPSY did, plus more. I got this book when my son started receiving letters and attention - we did not want to be ignorant on the ins and outs of the recruiting process. Mr. Hornback also does not favor recruiting companies - save yourself the money, and do it yourself. We did it, not knowing much of anything about football & making highlight tapes, and it still was effective. The college coaches know what they are looking at, and if they see even a glimmer of talent, they'll be contacting you. DEFINITELY fill out the questionnaires, found on most college websites. Sometimes the questionnaires are the only thing that alerts a coach to the possible talent. The coaches will usually then contact the high school coach, and start the process from there. The college coaches don't all have time to find you - you need to find them! The recruiting process can be an enjoyable process, but can also be an absolute CIRCUS - enough that it becomes a distraction for the athlete. (Been there, done that, and glad it's over!)
  3. Mike Bryant of Lavergne, for Offensive Lineman /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  4. Agree - they announced at the Lavergne game that we play at 7:30pm, not 6pm. ???
  5. Oh snap! Sounds like it was a good game! Will you be posting the score on the Mt. Juliet - Lavergne game?
  6. Sorry - I don't have the girls schedule - just had the boys Lavergne won against Magee

  8. Oh, you mean that "WEAK weak team", Independence, lol...
  9. That "weak underdog team" was Lavergne, which Oakland plays this Tuesday night at LHS.
  10. LHS - 49 SHS - 48 Siegal led for most of the game, but Lavergne managed to come from behind to take the win.
  11. Lavergne has won their first two games against Hillsboro and Springfield.
  12. Springfield - 49 Lavergne - 57 Springfield is a talented team, and it was a great game to watch!
  13. The end result was not, but at one point, LHS was up by nearly 25 or more, and it sure was looking bad for Hillsboro before they started pulling it together.
  14. Cookeville - 7 LAVERGNE - 19!!!!! WAY TO GO WOLVARINES!!!!! It was a near shut out - Cookeville barely managed a touchdown in the last minute of the game. DEFENSE was on FIRE!!!!!
  15. Wilson Central - 12 LAVERGNE WOLVERINES - 48 GO 'RINES!!!!! See you in Cookeville next Friday!
  16. Smyrna by two TD's, if not more. I don't think it will be "close". Smyrna wins this comfortably.
  17. Siegal - 10 Lavergne - 26 Congrats Wolverines!
  18. No. 22 (Adawg) was the one carried out in the cart, not Ryan. Reports are that Ryan was fine. And LHS had their second string in with LC.
  19. Went and watched the first two games LHS played - first was against Hillwood (got there a few minutes late - saw LHS score 2 on them, so I believe LHS won that one). They also played Giles County. It was 2-2 at one point, I do believe, and I got distracted and didn't see if anyone broke the tie before it was over. Lincoln Co. was playing Page at another field when we got there. Don't know their scores. Didn't see any other teams when we left, and there were 2 more opponents for LHS to still play.
  20. Just heard that Lavergne won all their scrimmages the last couple days except againt Goodpasture. They hit the field this morning at LHS at 9am. Not sure if the same teams are scheduled to be there as was at Youth Inc.
  21. I talked to the LHS trainer tonight, and she said Lavergne did pretty well, considering the heat. They did better in the morning, but were getting tired towards the end of the day. She didn't give me any scores, but did say that Lincoln County was doing well also. They'll be back at it at 9am tomorrow.
  22. Yes, Lavergne is scheduled to be there. My player hadn't heard who else was going though.
