Congratulations to Lawrenceburg! I thought they were the most improved team I saw play this season. Besides hard work, what can the huge improvement be attributed to? Did they have new coaches or players?
  2. Pretty much what I thought! Against weaker competition it is easier to get the ball yourself and score. Against stronger competition a teammate will have to get the ball to you. And what I saw of Page in preseason was not a team that could help in a tough game. That's pretty sad! It is unbelievable that the coach allows this. I didn't realize this is what was happening when I read the ESPN article. Really cheapens this accomplishment.
  3. Wish we had referees that were that diligent and conscientious. Referees in our part of the state arrive 5 minutes before the game and I have never seen them check the field at all.
  4. Good Luck Courtney! CA is already missing you this season!
  5. I don't understand the reason Spring Hill was moved to District 12 either. It looks like district 11 now has 12 teams and district 12 has 18 teams according to their website - plus Spring Hill generally either wins the district or is runner-up. Anyway, it should be a 3 way battle in district 12 between Spring Hill, CA and Giles County. Spring Hill will be tough with Crystal Mac returning and at least 4-5 girls with travel experience. Columbia Academy's biggest loss was their goalie graduating, but they still have 5 strong players returning who all play for Div I travel teams. If they can bring their freshmen and new players along they have a good shot also. They were put out last year in sectionals by CPA in OT. Giles County had a tremedous year last year - came in 2nd in District and beat CA 1-0 to win the region, then gave powerhouse FRA a decent match. I don't know who Giles lost to graduation, but I know their main scorer, Natasha Reynolds is a Junior and should be ready for a big year. Last year they played tough defense and relied on her to score. My prediction for this season from what I saw last season: 1. CA 2. Spring Hill 3. Giles County
  6. Any idea why the M'boro team is not in the State League this season? Did they split up?
  7. Are there any U-16 state games scheduled this weekend? I looked at the schedule on the TN State site and it seems to be incorrect.
  8. Wondering how the teams looked this weekend?
  9. Lauren Wilson Midfield TNFC/Brentwood Columbia Central UT Chattanooga
  10. I'm not familiar with the 93 Metros team playing in the U-16 State league. Anyone know anything about this team?
  11. CA - 3 Spring Hill - 2 CA goals - Emily Crane, Kate Hayes, Lauren Lomax SH goals - Mackazyk (PK), Haley Warf Any details on the Page-Giles game?
  12. I have a question about how a game is scored in the case of a shootout. I understand if the score is tied 1-1 going into the shootout that the winner would be declared by a score of 2-1. Are the players scoring on the PKs credited with a "goal scored"? Just wondering how this would look in the box score.
  13. District 12 A/AA Awards Tournament Defensive MVP Abby Aymett - Sr - Giles Co Tournament Offensive MVP Lauren Lomax - So - Columbia Academy Tournament MVP Brittin Fandrich - Sr - Columbia Academy
  14. Columbia Academy - 3 Giles Co - 2 CA goals by Kate Hayes, Lauren Lomax & Macie Polk
