  1. 3 minutes left and Summertown drive stalls at the 17 yard line after 2 HUGE drops. One was in the end zone. LCHS still up 16-12 with the ball and a big run on first down. Summertown using time outs now with 2:17 left.
  2. 8:31 left to play and LCHS retakes the lead. Lawrence County starting to throw the ball has loosened up the Summertown defense some and they were able to make some plays with the pass. Big play was a LCHS punt after a 3 and out but SHS was caught with 12 men on the field that was enough for a first down and kept the drive alive. New score is 16-12
  3. To the 4th in Lawrenceburg, the Eagles continue to lead. Score is now 12-9 after a big stop by LCHS led to a bad snap on a punt that sailed into the end zone and was kicked out the back of the end zone.
  4. this is the very first time that LCHS coach David Marston has ever trailed against Summertown.
  5. Eagles open the 2nd half with a pretty 10 play 5 minute 60 yard drive for a TD. Aniken Johnson, Javen Edmiston, and Colton Schaffer leading the charge with all 10 plays being on the ground. Schaffer made some really nice keeps on options. Two point conversion fails, Summertown leads 12-7.
  6. Lawrence County answers with a 19 play, 11 minute drive to take a 7-6 lead with just over 1 minute left in the 1st half
  7. Summertwon with the early 6-0 lead on LCHS
  8. Not sure Richland is ready for 2A football with some of these cats. The way they got mauled, especially in the 2nd half against Cornersville has to be bothersome for the Raider folks. Im wondering if the lackluster performance is in any way related to the off the field stuff going on at the school right now. Definitely keeping an eye on that situation.
  9. Welp..... So much for Richland going to surprise people this year. They did not look good at all. Wonder if any of that had anything to do with the drama going on at the school. Not a good time to be a student at Richland.
  10. Summertown v Rogers was rained out
  11. Friday night, it will be the Summertown Eagles taking on the Lawrence County Wildcats. Purple and gold vs the blue and white. 4A vs 2A. How Summertown wins Aniken Johnson, Colton Shaffer, and Javen Edmiston all have huge games. Play solid defense and not allow the gaping plays defensively. Explode on offense. How Lawrence County wins Dominate the lines, put pressure on Schaffer and force him into bad plays Prediction LC 13 Summertown 21
  12. Im going with this 1. Loretto-by far the most experience returning from a playoff team in 2020 2. Summertown-accountability!!! Shaffer returning with Edmiston and Johnson make them a threat 3. Forrest-This is the sleeper. Find an offense and they win the region 4. Mount Pleasant- always has talent but changing systems will be difficult to adapt to early 5. Cascade-replacing a signal caller against this region is always difficult to overcome 6. Richland-not ready for 2A football yet
  13. I think Summertown gets it done. They are better at every position except Karli Weathers. I suspect Burdette will be the difference. Hoping Jenna is ok and that she is able to win one for great grandma. That may be her biggest motivation to heal quickly and play well.
  14. Has anyone played as tough as a schedule as Summertown has yet? To date, SHS is 11-3. Their 3 losses are to Stewarts Creek, Coffee Co, and Oakland. They have played 8 teams at the AAA level. I personally feel like the bigger schools competition will certainly pay off down the road. Thoughts....
  15. Summertown High School - Home of the Eagles 34 mins · We are excited to announce Dakota Crews as our new Head Football Coach. Coach Crews has had a successful football background that began as a member of the first youth football team in Summertown. Coach Crews attended Summertown Elementary until the 6th grade when he transferred to Lewis County where he played his high school football career, which saw him earn a Tennessee Mr. Football award for class 2A. Coach Crews earned a scholarship to play linebacker at Maryville College for 4 years where he was a 2-year starter. After earning his Math degree, Coach Crews began his coaching career at Lewis County in 2012. While coaching multiple position groups he tallied a 48-23 record as an assistant under Coach Bobby Sharp. In 2018, Coach Crews became a Linebackers coach at 6A Murfreesboro Oakland under Coach Kevin Creasy. He was part of a staff who won the 2018 6A state championship with a 14-1 record, and followed that season with a playoff semifinal loss to eventual state champion Maryville in 2019 and a record of 13-1. Coach Crews arrived at Summertown High School in January of 2020 where he currently teaches high school math. He spent the 2020 season as the defensive coordinator for the Eagles.
  16. I have more questions now. Is Summertown THAT good or is Huntingtondon not as good as advertised?
  17. Everyone ready for the new region? Summertown, Mt Pleasant, Loretto, Richland, Forrest, Cascade. Who will be the favorites, expected contenders for playoffs, etc?
  18. I havent seen this cat post all year and all of a sudden he comes in here talking mad smack at The General? Come on man, be better. Go on with ya bad self, man, nobody here wants to witness a war of words from some kind of personal grudge.
  19. Heck, I was under the impression they were 3A.....shows how much I pay attention to Cascade lol So do you think the region will remain by adding Richland and Mt Pleasant while losing Eagleville and Community?
  20. Also Cascade would be dropping to 2A and Community would be moving up to 3A
  21. Welp, looks like this region is going to be changing. Eagleville will be dropping to 1A while Mt Pleasant and Richland both move up to 2A. There is a very real possibility of Summertown, Loretto, Mt Pleasant, Richland, Forrest, and Lewis County ending up in the same region together. That would be 4 of the 18 smallest 2A schools in the state in one region.
  22. Interesting that nobody has mentioned the distinct probability of 4 of the 18 SMALLEST 2A schools would end up in the same region with Summertown, Richland, Mt Pleasant, and Loretto. Likely also would have Forrest and Lewis County as well.
  23. I actually think Loretto is the better team. Without 5 turnovers, they dont beat Summertown. Even with 3, they still trailed. Without the 4th they lose. I think Loretto wins that game.
  24. And Summertown is out of the mix. Eagleville 18 Summertown 14 ensures that the very best the Eagles can do is 1 region win with 4 teams already sitting at 2 region wins. Shaffer threw 4 INT tonight. Eagleville scores 12 unanswered in the 4th qtr. This is the 5th consecutive loss for the blue and white.
  25. Summertown hoping for a miracle LATE.... Summertown takes over after stopping EHS on downs with a 14-12 lead. First play they fumble, EHS returns it for a td to take a 18-14 lead with 1:11 to play. EHS only had 1 timeout. They should have kneeled it instead of running a play. Ouch....
