  1. Wingman you are so crazy!! How have you been?
  2. I closed it down to 16 teams. The teams are as follows: Southwind, Briarcrest, Fairley, Middleton, Brighton, Millington, Germantown, ST. Benedict, Bolton, Melrose, Arlington, Bartlett, Hamilton, Harding, Covington and Manassas. It's going to be a great 12 hours of basketball. 24 games on November 5th starting at 9 AM.
  3. The play day that has attracted many college coaches from across the nation will be held at Southwind High on November 5th. It will cost 75 dollars for 3 games. We will take the 1st 20 teams that ask to be in. All games will be held on the main floor. We will use TSSAA officials. Contact me at sgatlin@scsk12.org for more information!
  4. Yes it was a District game. It was our first one of the season.
  5. Craigmont was actually 9-1... We beat them tonight in Double OT by 2. Very good game.
  6. Daniels played very well. I'm sure she scored and I don't know why it's not in there right. My leading scorer and best rebounder had to sit most of the game from foul trouble too. She's young and will learn from it. As far as the details of the game...Well, all I can say is they must have played really good defense. They didn't get called for a foul in the second half until about 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. It was a close game and we didn't do a great job of executing our press break to advance it enough to get a shot Mainly because we couldn't get the ball down the court because they had 6 fouls to give with about 10 seconds to go. It was a learning experience for me I must admit. I've never been in a game where a team goes an entire quarter and a half and don't get a foul. I should have done a better job of making our guards press the issue and draw more contact, not that it wasn't but not enough to actually get a call I guess. St. Ben. did a great job of slowing the tempo and my team did an ok job of handling their press. We had 2 shot attempts in the last 20 seconds but missed them both. We are a young team that should gather some experience from this tough road loss.
  7. Good luck Chassidy. I had fun coaching her at the All Star game.
  8. Overton game was tied 24 to 24 with 2 minutes left. My starting point guard didn't play the last 8 minutes of the game. We were up by 6 with about 5 to go. My starting point guard didn't play the rest of the day due to an illness. It was a good day and my younger guards got a lot of work. The younger guards weren't ready for the physical man press but they got to see it though. Very good day.

  11. Central is arguably the most talented team in the state. They are indeed the deepest team. We will face them in a Hall of Champions game on November 19 at Houston High. We are in our rebuilding years but look to learn alot about who we are and how much work we have to do in the coming years.
  12. This will be a very good year in Memphis. The landscape has changed and a lot of teams will look different. I know my team will look different in this rebuilding year. It's going to be exciting to watch these teams with new stars emerging!!! Who do you think will be the biggest surprise and the toughest to compete against? Who are the district favorites for the different districts in the area?

  14. We need one more team. Munford was in but they are out due to a conflict of schedule. 1. Millington 6. Hamilton 11. Ridgeway 2. Manassas 7. Germantown 12. Fairley 3. Brighton 8. Covington 13. Waverly Central 4. Liberty Tech 9. Briarcrest 14. Collierville 5. Memphis Overton 10. Middleton 15.
  15. Thanks Wingman!!! It's going to be an interesting year with my young team. Anything is possible. However, we will just have to see how much they have grown since the summer. We won 20 games this summer during this rebuilding year so who knows what they will be able to accomplish.
  16. We currently have one spot left... Teams that have confirmed that they are coming are 1. Millington 6. Hamilton 11. Ridgeway 2. Manassas 7. Germantown 12. Fairley 3. Brighton 8. Covington 13. Munford 4. Liberty Tech 9. Briarcrest 14. Collierville 5. Memphis Overton 10. Middleton 15.
  17. It will cost 75 per team and each team will be guaranteed 3 games and one coach's gift. We will cut it off at 15 teams. All games will be in the main gym. Teams that attended last year; Ridgeway, Manassas, Liberty Tech, Germantown, Briarcrest, Fairley, Covington, Hamilton, Hillcrest, Munford, White Station, and of course Millington. Several universities were in attendance last year. Email me at Sgatlin@scsk12.org
  18. It's going to be some good AAA basketball played this week!!!
  19. It isn't the first time she had zero assist or zero rebounds...However, yall didn't shoot a lot of three pointers that would produce long rebounds either. Most of your shots were in the post or in the lane which led to my post players getting the rebound. She has the school record for assist in a game by the way She can pass! Some games players take over in different ways. I'm pleased with her performance! Last night was one of those nights when she put it on her shoulders, win or lose. Every game you won't stuff all the stats, thats why it's important to have other players that can do different things. The Northside and Central game should be a good game. Northside is by far one of the toughest teams we have played all year. Very well coached!! They play with a lot of heart.
  20. Absolutely no comment! Thanks for supporting... I guess????
  21. Nothing was said about the coach of the year award. It hasn't been voted on the last two years, to my knowledge.
  22. Two great teams battling for the "City Championship". Very entertaining game. I see why it's a big thing for Memphis. It's a huge community event. The atmosphere was electric. Last year I watched it on the internet but this year I went to it.
