  1. Started with 23. I saw one lose his cool after a hard tackle on the Indians sideline. After a heated discussion on the field with Cannon coaches, he threw his shoulderpads and helmet against the fence, yelled for his parents to meet him at the dressing room that he quit and left. Threw his pants over the fence from the parking lot and got in a truck and left! I don't think he will be back.
  2. Rumor around Dunlap is that both Bargers have applied. I hope that is not the case, I think that would really hurt Chad and what he has started with the kids here.
  3. I am really happy with the way things are working out, Coach B was a good hire and has things headed in the right direction. I DO NOT think that this team compares with the 89 or 90 teams...those were great teams that went far in the playoffs. That being said, I do think they will win fairly easily tomorrow.....too much drama up in Pikeville!
  4. Speaking of next Friday, I saw more than a few Bledsoe folks in the crowd. Guess they didn't bother to drive to Baxter tonight...or maybe they are early for next week.
  5. Everytime I get in on the conversation about the Indians, they don't play well. I have stayed away from posting to not jinx them....but, I really think that they have a solid, 4 quarter game in them somewhere. Indians by 7!!
  6. With all the hoopla and talk during pre-season about the warriors, I thought they would probably make it 2 in a row over us....but with the lack of offensive output by the warriors ( only around 80 yards vs 0-3 Upperman! ) I think the "women of the tribe" might be able to handle them.
  7. Coach Pickett was at the scrimmage. looked a little tired but was in good spirits. I thought the defense for Seq. looked much improved and that both Tate and Swafford ran hard, although I would have liked to see them get in the end zone.
  8. First you accuse people of being his wife and kid and now you think I'm Brown...man you've got issues. I have never met or spoken to him. I've probably cussed him over the years more than you. It just bothers me and apparently several more on here that you would be so hostile to a coach. You have shown disrespect to him, questioned his manhood and tried to drag his family into it. If you have that many issues with him, go question his manhood to his face. if you won't do that then move on and quit trying to stir things up on a thread that does not concern WCHS. And if juicey is right about them hanging with L.A., then I still stand by my prediction that they will be a better 1A team than WCHS will be a 4A team.
  9. Any updates on practices and scrimmage opponents?
  10. Maybe this thread should get back to why it was started. How has Clay been doing the first week and did they scrimmage anyone yesterday? If so, how did they look? Apparently they were pretty bad the last few years.
  11. It been quiet lately, is that a good thing or a bad thing? How many kids are in pads?
  12. I've lost my mind? Brown has not ran a 5-2 in at least 4 or 5 years. I wonder who you have been watching? Also, Anderson Co has always been a 5-2 team and if Kerr was the DC there, I bet thats what you get...hope you learn to like it. By the way, Brown has moved on and its time you do the same. Havn't you all started your annual "what's wrong with White County" thread yet on the 4A forum?
  13. My money says they will be a better 1A team than WCHS will be a 4A team.
  14. I don't know what expert you called, but I assure you that shoulder pads are NOT legal till monday. This came up last year and a couple of teams lost scrimmage dates as punishment from TSSAA.
  15. 1982-SCHS, 1984-SCHS,1992-SCHS, 1993-SCHS, 1994-BCHS regular season and SCHS in playoffs (we played twice that year) 1995-BCHS, 1996-BCHS, 1997-SCHS, 1998-BCHS, 2001-SCHS,2002-SCHS,2003-SCHS,2004-SCHS
  16. While I do enjoy valley ball very much....I must admit that region 4 has had their way in the valley since the mid 90's at least. Westmoreland has beaten Marion at Marion, Sequatchie at Dunlap, Bledsoe at bledsoe and Tyner! Upperman kicked Bledsoe and Sequatchie on the way to the semi's in 96. York stomped Bledsoe last year and then beat Tyner at tyner in the play-offs. Smith Co. has not lost in the valley since 98(to Bledsoe in the play-offs) I would guess that in the last 15 years they have won over 70% of the match-ups.
  17. Why would you not consider your 96 team a "valley" team? I know we (Dunlap) played them and I'm pretty sure they played a couple of other teams in the valley( I know they played Whitwell also) even if it wasn't region games. You said you really liked your 81 team and if I'm not mistaken they didn't play the Indians that year, did they? I bet during the last 2 decades that there have been very few seasons that everyone has played everyone else in the same year, that does not mean they are not "valley teams".
  18. I saw the 83 ,86 and 95 squads play twice each. I think that the 83 team was the strongest of the 3 but I think you have left off the only team that was really close to the 83 squad, your 98 squad. They were the only group to play games outside their classification against 4A and 5A teams. I think they won 8 or 9 games before losing to a private school in the 2nd round if I remember correctly.
  19. According to the TSSAA website, Bledsoe has reached the 2nd round of the play-offs 4 times, 83,86,95 and 98. They were a first round "quarter-finalist" back in the 70's but that was a first round loss. They may have been a "quarter-finalist" in 83 but the 2nd round is the 2nd round no matter what you call it, so Swafford is not the only coach do have done it.
  20. I may be completely off base here, but I thought the winningest coach in BCHS history was James Warden. He came to Pikeville as coach from Shelbyville and was coach for over 10 or 15 years. I would also think that your last coach was probably close just because he was there for 10 or more years. I didn't think anyone else who had been coach there had lasted for more than 3 or 4 years. I would be interested in seeing some exact numbers on total wins if anybody up there has them.
  21. Oh, well....same old thing in Pikeville
  22. Are you saying they have already named someone? Who?
  23. Tullahoma or any other team wanting to move up in classification will have to wait another 2 years. They are locked into their present regions for a 4 year period. You can move ONLY if you have a 20 percent change in enrollment ( which Cumberland County has). 2009 will be the earliest you could move.
