  1. I need to add one more in there, and that is Oliver Springs. It was easy to forget them after the season they had last year. No disrespect!!! I was disappointed with the way they played last year after winning the region the year before. I look for them to be re-focussed on the task at hand. I have heard that they worked harder this year than ever in the weight room! I do expect them to be a much improved team this year and make a run at the playoffs. I won't make any prediction on who will finish where, because it is frankly too dang hard at this point. Alcoa is hands down the team to beat. Good luck again to all the teams around the region and stay healthy!
  2. Alcoa is the team to beat. Maryville game 2 and Fulton game 4 will be very interesting. Cak lives and dies on the pass and will make it interesting this year. If they are able to increase team #'s like Knox Catholic has, look out. Loudon should be tough, but we will wait and see. They have scrimmaged Rockwood a few times in the past. It will be interesting to see how well Sweetwater will be with a new/old coach. Their defensive coordinator stepped in as head coach. I know they will be talented as always. They really picked it up towards the end of the season last year. Wartburg brings back almost all of their offensive line. If they have some skill players, they could shock a few people this year by making the playoffs. Rockwood lost four offensive lineman last year after posting 11-2 season. Both loses came to a great Alcoa team. This should be a very interesting year. As with any team that plays AA football injuries will play a role in the success of the teams. GOOD LUCK to all 2-2a teams and let's continue the tradition of representing the best AA region in the state!
  3. Wow! Tony Lambert in Oneida. Well...I eat my words too. I can tell you that Oneida will be strong and well coached. They also will be disciplined. Zach is a heck of a player and will really add some fire power to the Indians.
  4. Why would Tony Lambert come to Oneida? He is next in line to take over at Anderson County? I wonder if the Indians could get a Coach after they fired everyone. I know Burchfield has taken over. It seems very political up in Indian town.
  5. I am glad that people are confident, but we have a long way to go. Somebody has to step up and be a leader. We are out of shape, and need to find our groove. Alcoa is the state champion, what more needs to be said. Sweetwater will be ready. They got players even when everyone says they don't. lil Latham and Smith will be hard to handle. I know that they will be ready to play. Loudon and CAK join the ranks. I don't know much about them, but have a feeling one of them will make the playoffs. O.S. will be better. It was obvious they had some internal problems. Wartburg brings back almost all of their offensive line. I know that Rockwood has worked hard so far. We lost a lot last year. We have to replace 4 OL. Everyone knows that without a line, you can't win. Players have to step up! We will see. As for Kingston, I think it is great that they are already wanting more of us. We are looking forward to a great season, but will take it one day at a time. We got to go to work.
  6. I am not even sure if I want to post or not...People are idiots on here. #1stunna needs to be gone. Alcoa is the #1 team in the state. The only way they aren't is if someone beats them. Rockwood will have to bring their A game to win. Alcoa has proven it is the best team so far. They believe they are the best and should.
  7. Why is Alcoa even worried about Rockwood? Alcoa has been going to the 4th round since the 1st round. Alcoa beat Rockwood 35-0. Alcoa should worry about David Lipscomb. They are your real competition. This is just a warm-up game. You all have #1, #2, and #3 plus #8 and #20. Rockwood just has 23 and 2 and that is it. You shouldn't worry about anything. As you have said Rockwood is just garbage and they haven't played anyone, and they are just lucky that they are 11-1 and they don't have any talent. Rockwood should just forfit. It was a good run boys. No one believes that Rockwood can win. As one guy said, "why waste the gas?"
  8. Do you smell something... What is that? It smells kind of good. I think it might be an upset...Yah that's it. Goodpasture has heard how Lipscomb is going to win state and how good Lipscomb is, but No one has won the championship yet. Go Goodpasture!
  9. Rockwood laid down and took a whipping in week 6. Alcoa can talk the talk for now. I just wonder how much pride the Tigers have? No one is giving you a chance, "garbage"? #2="We are #1 they were #3 last time, we will do the same again 35-0". If the Tigers are going to lay down and be "garbage"....do everyone a favor and stay on the bus! But if you all are going to play against Alcoa with the same determination, attitude, and toughness that I have seen for the past 6 weeks since the Alcoa game, then I will be there no matter what!
  10. Rockwood has nothing to lose. Expect them to be loose. The mud bowl was unreal. Good job! I am sure the coaches are still getting the mud out of the uniforms. Have fun this week, stay loose and most importantly play Rockwood football! ATP!
  11. Lol...some of you guys are a mess. I think it is funny that Alcoa and Lipscomb people already have themselves inked in for the 4th round. We haven't finished the 2nd round. Sure they are favored, but that is why the kids play the games.
  12. Rockwood is looking forward to the challenge against G-P. This is the only game the players are worried about. Win and move forward, lose and go home to put equipment up for 2004. I hear that G-P's field was sloppy on Friday. It is supposed to rain Thursday. Rockwood has had two games during the regular season that involved sloppy conditions... Wartburg and Harriman. I am glad to hear that everyone is healthy. Good luck to both teams, and may the best one win.
  13. CHS... the only team Rockwood should be worried about is South Greene. Good luck to our fellow 2AA team Wartburg. I hope everyone is healthy... Gatlinburg Pittman has become the team to beat in 1aa. Good luck to both teams and may the best one win.
  14. CHS... the only team Rockwood should be worried about is South Greene. Good luck to our fellow 2AA team Wartburg. I hope everyone is healthy... Gatlinburg Pittman has become the team to beat in 1aa. Good luck to both teams and may the best one win.
  15. They are one of the best 2a teams in the state.
  16. The only thing the dogs will wheather is the trip home. Hampton has no chance. Alcoa is much too talented. Hampton hasn't made it passed the first round in at least 3 years. Wartburg may be the only team in Region 2 that doesn't win.
  17. South Greene does has some great weapons and they caused 6 turnovers vs. Hampton. They are a good quality team, and they could have easily won their region. We will see if Rockwood is ready. Rockwood has been a good team, but has yet to push itself to greatness. 9-1 is a great accomplishment, but now it doesn't matter. The playoffs are a new season. Lose and go home, Win and keep heading towards greatness. I don't think the Coaches can do anymore than they are doing. It is up to the leadership of the team. I think this team is on the verge of greatness, but has much more to prove. Championship teams are teams who play together as one, who have a good attitude and also a nasty dispostion towards their opponent, and take pride in everything they do, whether in practice, warm-ups, or in the game. All players must be committed to the same goal. I will be watching closely on Friday to see whether Rockwood is a pretender or a contender. ATP!
  18. Alcoa shouldn't have any problems with Hampton. Tornadoes by 50.
  19. Rockwood has a tough challenge ahead of it. An athletic bunch, the Blue Devils are quite dangerous. Rockwood will have to play its style of football. If so, look for a long night for Harriman, but if Rockwood comes in overconfident, it could be trouble for the tigers.
  20. Trash talk is for other teams...Rockwood has class. Rutledge will be more than ready, and it doesn't matter who they have played or who we have played. It doesn't even matter what our records are. MaC, you are a fellow Rockwood fan, but don't give the other team locker room material. Also, Rutledge has been close in every game they have lost except Fulton. Someone could say that we have just beaten powder puff teams...I don't agree, but we haven't established ourselves as a powerhouse yet. We are headed in the right direction. To be the best you got to beat the best. We still have to get better! We are just trying to take one game at a time. Rutledge will be ready and so should Rockwood!
  21. Rockwood better be ready. Last year was extremely tough but the Tigers pulled out the win 14-8. Rutledge will try to smashmouth the Tigers all night with the option game. They play a ton of players. Rutledge has some size that will match up with the big offensive line that the Tigers will bring. Rockwood will need to be two dimensional again this week to stretch the defense. The Tigers know that Rutledge will not just lay down. Tigers be ready. We will see everybody on Friday.
  22. I believe that WECO out of Wartburg might be handling the Oliver Springs vs. Rockwood game. I think that is 101.3. Also cable channel 12 does Rockwood games (audio only).
  23. Rockwood had a good game against Meigs Co. The team was fired up about the game the week previously and needed to prove something. Meigs has some good athletes and they did not quit even though Rockwood got up on them. Good luck to them the rest of the season.

    2A playoffs

Alcoa, Lipscomb, Tyner, and possibly Huntington are the top favorites to be in the semi-finals. Cheatum Co., Rockwood, Goodpasture, Milan, are all teams that could surprise a few of the favorites.
  25. I am sure the team will focus on O.S. and take one game at a time. As for Alcoa, they have talked the talk and walked the walk so far. I just hope they don't stumble.
