  1. Harry: I thought I felt someone ridin' my coattails this afternoon. Well, I am glad it paid off. See you, BCB, and the rest of your hangers-on at Las Margs. Buena Suerte Los Irish Luchadores. Mr. Wonderful
  2. Harry/BCB: I may be in Cleveland tomorrow evening around 4:30 or 5:00. Where and when will you two be in session? Sorry I could not be a part of your last gathering in the mobile war room. Mrs. Wonderful was not up for it Mr. Wonderful
  3. Which brings us back to "PRIVATE USE", which the TSSAA approves. Mr. Wonderful
  4. I was thinking about who you might select as your OW. It was a difficult decision for me, as well. Obviously, it starts with our champions. The men who have been champions all year: Tee, Jay, and Flynn With Tee really opening up against Stewart in what was his most decisive victory of the year over Dustin. And Jay doing the same with his opponent with a 12-0 victory over 3rd-ranked, Wes Brett. And finally Pat Flynn finally getting a victory over the superstar owl, Jake Young 8-4. It seemed Flynn was the obvious choice for Irish OW. But then I remembered Big Evan. What a show he put on for the Irish Faithful. His two key pins secured our spot as the number three team in the toughest region in the state. Although he came up just short of the podium, and a berth in the state, Evan, just like Dylan Heath in Clarksville, became another Unlikely Irish Hero last night. Congratulations and good luck to all our boys in green. Mr. Wonderful
  5. I was up Seymour-way on business yesterday quoting some mobile home insurance, and since I was up there, I decided I would take in a Seymour Eagles pre-region practice. The intensity was incredible, which was not surprising; however, what was surprising was how incredible their facilities were. I was blown away by the PROFESSIONALISM of the Seymour Eagles. Here Check it out... Go Irish! Mr. Wonderful
  6. Manley, Doster, Waddell. I'm noticing a common denominator here. With such tight head-to-head scores (particularly at 160), these are Webb's matches to lose. Mr. Wonderful
  7. Translation: "Please, Please, Please WalkenVol...Take the bait." Mr. Wonderful
  8. He's been a cut-off guy ever since I have known him. If Harry T. says he'll be in cut-offs, look for it. Mr. Wonderful
  9. Your team isn't the one that brought the guy in the yellowjacket costume a couple years ago is it? Mr. Wonderful
  10. Looks like I'll have to EAT my predictions. I must say, BCB, that Mr. Johnson wrestled a great match. We all know about his great defense, however, I was thoroughly impressed by how well he executed his takedowns on such a physical opponent. It was a near flawless match, Mr. Johnson. Congratulations. I am very excited to see you two meet again. Also, I have a trivial question about Mr. Johnson's stats: He beat Fields 3-0. He beat M. Fuller 2-0, 3-0, and 6-0. And he beat Will Young 7-1. My question is how many points has Mr. Johnson given up this year? Mr. Wonderful
  11. At least we can agree on that. See you Friday. Mr. Wonderful
  12. Then I'll give you the facts, sir. Ben Johnson is a man with very few losses on his resume. And those losses have come to "All-American" caliber opponents. However in the last two losses I can remember, his opponents have had one thing in common: They were quicker and stronger than Mr. Johnson. Danny Coleman- while some would say he was also much older (e.g. he wouldn't get carded at Merv's), Coleman was stronger and quicker than Johnson. Garrison Goins- While no one should be ashamed of losing to a 4-time state champion, Johnson lost a close match to Goins by not being able to counter his strength and quickness. Now I know what your retorts will be: 1. C'mon, He's a two-time state champion 2. Mr. Johnson is pretty darn strong and quick too. 3. He won the re-match with Goins 4. He was a sophomore when he wrestled Coleman... All these are true. And they are what make him great. They make him a champion. But Will Young is also a two-timer, and just like Goins and Coleman, he is stronger and quicker. He went 8 minutes with Parkview's Jesse Miller (2005 5A Champ), so if Mr. Johnson does it, he will have won perhaps the most physically grueling match of his career. There are your facts. I hope it goes 8 minutes. And I hope the match starts at 140 lbs. It's gonna be a barn-burner, BCB. Call me Kobayashi because those slaw dogs are mine. Mr. Wonderful
  13. R76- Give me Will Young dec. Ben Johnson. (4-1) The easiest pick of the week is Creagan over Tolbert. Where it gets difficult is picking by how much he will win. As erratically as Tolbert has performed this year, I'll stay on the safe side and call it: Creagan dec. Tolbert. (9-3)
  14. Don't get upset, WV. We have a big end-of-the-season party for you, celebrating not only the Crawlenvol's victory over Baucke in the state finals, but also your 1000th post, as it is fast approaching as long as Soms is alive. I know my judgment can at times be a bit clouded. Blame it on my youth or on the young lady you speak of. But at the end of the day, if McCallie loses like everyone thinks they will, I'm only one Slaw Dog to the bad. But if they win, I look like a genius--The Nostradamus from Notre Dame, they'll call me. I can't lose here, WV. Mr. Wonderful
  15. Congratulations to BearCat Brown on his 350th post. At an average of .8 posts per day, BCB is on pace to break the record for most posts in a two-year span, set by Irishdad in his 2003-2004 campaign. The Irish Faithful salute BearCat Brown--see you at Mayo's.
