  1. What does that mean about the boarding school? You Grace people are a pretty sad lot.
  2. The great thing is this... If we (Temple) lose Saturday, we walk away saying..."man what a great run we've had!" And are thrilled to death to move on. If we win Saturday (and it could happen), RBS is devastated and possibly humiliated. I like Temple's side of this.
  3. How Can you leave out Temple's Girls? They have made a great stride forward this year!
  4. The officiating was bad... as it usually is, but it was equally bad on both sides. I am definately biased towards Temple, but both sides got some calls and gave up some calls. Comes down to 2 teams, and as evenly matched as Temple and Grace are, it could have gone either way. When you pressure the ball like most teams do against Temple, you are gonna foul more. Great game, look forward to next time... GO LADY CRUSADERS!
  5. Congratulations to Tennesse Temple's Lady Crusaders for winning the Region 3A Championship! Temple over Grace by 5 (?). What an incredible run (so far) led by Ms. Basketball finalist (and the only one of the three still playing) Danielle Rector, Danielle was also named Region 3A MVP! This team has really come from nowhere to make a great season. CONGRATULATIONS!
  6. Why is everyone hatin on S.E. TN? Danielle Rector is a finalist because she is obviously one of the top three in the state. If she doesn't get the nod it will have a lot to do with her being a Jr. and not her stats or ability. Congrats to all the girls! And even to the girls who didn't make it but maybe should have.
  7. Here is the long and the short of it. Who you vote for will be decided by what you personally look for. The way I see it there are a couple of categories that you would/should consider; 1. stats, 2. team impact, 3. overall game ability. If stats is your personal cup of tea, that class A would have to be Danielle Rector, yes Temple is an average team without any other offensive threat. This makes being the statewide scoring leader even more impressive, because other teams know they only have to guard her, instead of 2 or 3 players. Danielle faces double and triple team defense in every game. She averages a double double as well as leading the area (and probably state) in scoring, she is also a leading rebounder. If stats is your thing you should also look at her turnovers, very low for someone who handles the ball as much as she does. If Team Impact is what you look for, Then Class A would have to be Danielle Rector. She has started since she was an 8th grader, not JUST started but has been a HUGE impact on the team in 8th grade. In 9th and 10th grade she was the team. I don't mean any disrespect to the girls that played with her (especially Angela Kemp) but she without a doubt carried the team. This year while she has had a couple of good additions to the team, she is still the "go to" player. When the press is strong, she brings the ball up; when they are down 2 or 3 points at the end of the game, Danielle gets the ball. She leads the team... not just in stats, but as a personal leader. Finally if overall ability is your guide, then class A would have to be Danielle Rector. She plays point guard, shooting guard, wing, power forward, and post. I know Tennessee has a lot of very talented players. But when you look at the overall picture, choosing anyone else would be an injustice.
  8. Did you feel that was such a good post that we needed to see it twice?
  9. Have you not been following my posts? How about Danielle Rector from Temple?
  10. Oh.. no I don't disagree with that post, I've never seen Casha, I was just making sure they weren't talking about Danielle Rector. She may not get nominated, but she definately has the numbers.
  11. Keyplayer - Who are you referring too?
  12. Sorry to stick my nose into the "middle Tennessee" discussion - but you should broaden your horizons to the Chattanooga area. Danielle Rector from Temple is an incredible post player who, because of double and triple teams is also a great threat from the outside.
  13. Little1 - I'm encouraged that you have the time and resources to have watched "every" player in the state! If you haven't seen "EVERY" player in the state play ( and actually more than one game) you should be careful in how you word your posts. There are many girls who probably should be listed here that aren't, because people don't know this place exists or because they are in such small schools that they get even less attention than others. Is Casha good? Probably. Is she GREAT? maybe... but to say that she has more natural talent than any player in the state? The is probably a reach (but I can't be sure, because I haven't seen her play!).
  14. Are you makin an offer? haha... I just know how good she is... didn't mean to get carried away!
  15. If you will pay attention to the question... I know these girls are good, if not great. But as far as their contribution to their team? Danielle Rector, TN Temple - for the last two years she WAS the team. I'm not even sure they would have had a team those two years. This year they picked up some freshman help, but still if you compare the stats, it's a no brainer. Averaging 28 pts per game, 11 rebounds per game, 2 blocks / 4 steals per game, 72% free throw shooter (absolutely ICE in the final minutes of the game), she handles the ball in the press, she shoots the three; I wish you could see her play... but the stats don't lie. Scored her 1,000th point in her sophomore year now holds the school record for most points in a game. She is the team captain, but most importantly she is the team leader! She directs traffic like an on the floor coach. When it comes to team impact this 6'2" junior has got it goin on...!
  16. Does anyone know if there is a place that tracks the high school stats online? I'd be interested to see how some of these athletes stack up to the others on a statistical basis?
  17. Jet - I think you have a great handle on the publicity / team ranking thing. When you look at stats and impact on the team, Danielle Rector from TN Temple (Chattanooga class A district 5) has the numbers and the impact to be mentioned with any of these girls listed here. No doubt they are great players, but they aren't the ONLY great players. Even when Danielle's numbers outshine everyones she gets little or no press for it. And she consistently carries her team as a Junior and has for 3 years.
  18. You wanted some numbers for "the girl from TN Temple", her name is Danielle Rector. Danielle is a junior and she exceeded 1,000 pts as a sophomore, has averaged a double double since her freshman year and has obtained 2 "triple doubles". Recently she broke the school record for points in a game with 47 pts and only played about 25 minutes. This was accomplished with only 1 3pt field goal. You need to look at her numbers against succesful opponents such as Tellico Plains (20 pts), Walker Valley (31 pts), Unaka (32 pts), GPS (25 pts), Copper Basin (27 pts), South Pittsburg (29), Chatt School Arts & Sciences (41), Copper Basin (28), and Lookout Valley (31). Her free throw average is 72% she is shooting 54% from the floor. Danielle is on the Honor Roll at Temple and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her strength on the floor only compliments her strengths and abilities off the floor. Without a doubt she should be highly considered for Class A Ms. Basketball.
