  1. I understand your point about urban/sub-urban schools. In A-AA, it doesn't quite pan out. Urban/sub-urban A-AA schools (including White House, Kingsbury, Signal Mtn. Hume Fogg, Murf. Central, Merrol Hyde and Paige) have not won a championship in 13 years.
  2. The district was pretty balanced and there were a lot of competitive games. No teams were state tournament caliber. It is a tough road for 9AAA to get to the state tournament. The combination of 9AAA, 10AAA, 11AAA and 12AAA makes it very tough to get there. Three of the last four AAA state champions (and possibly four out of the last five) have come from this group.

Just saying..
  4. So, you are saying Farragut, Collierville, Franklin and Science Hill in the Semi-finals?
  5. It is disappointing that TSSAA moved the start times for the championship games on Friday to earlier times (1:30 and 4:00). I think the last few years the A/AA championship game was at 4:00. The Division II games are at 4:30 and 7:00 on Thursday.
  6. From TSSAA Handbook. No distinction is made between a straight red or double yellow / red. Section 7. Student Athletes Ejected for Unsportsmanlike Conduct in Any Sport A. In contests in which registered TSSAA officials are involved, the officials will immediately notify the state office with both a telephone call and a written report if players are ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. In soccer, this would be for a RED CARD ONLY. In sports where registered TSSAA officials are not used, it will be the responsibility of the principal and/or coach of the player involved to report this incident to the state office. B. On the ejection of the student-athlete, the school will be required to submit a report on the action of the player and any disciplinary action taken by the school. The minimum penalty will be as follows: 1. Football – 1 Game Suspension 2. Soccer – 2 Game Suspension except for the following offenses which shall result in a 1 Game Suspension: a. A player anywhere on the field (other than a goalkeeper within his/her own penalty area) who deliberately handles a ball to prevent it from going into the goal. b. A foul by a player against an opponent who is moving toward his/her offensive goal with an obvious opportunity to score. 3. All other sports – 2 Game Suspension The student-athlete is also suspended from all levels of participation (varsity, junior varsity, freshman) thesame number of contest(s) in the sport involved. If the student-athlete is a senior and cannot fulfill all of the disciplinary action due to the completion of the season, he/she will fulfill the action in the next sport in which they participate. C. In addition to what is presently required when a player is ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct, a meeting shall be held with the player, coach, principal, and parent(s) or guardian(s) with a report on the meeting and plans to directly address the matter to be filed with the state office. D. If a player is ejected for a second time for unsportsmanlike conduct, a more severe punishment shall be imposed. E. Other non-monetary penalties may be assessed by the Executive Director based on all the facts. F. In all situations where ejections occur for unsportsmanlike conduct, the individual will be removed from the next contest(s) following the one in which the ejection occurred.
  7. Overton defeating Brentwood is not totally surprising, but 5-1 score is.
  8. Definitely a tough call for Hendersonville. I thought I heard a whitstle come from the track (A middle school track meet was going on at the same time). Hendersonville played the ball in and the Mt. Juliet players pretty much stood there and watched. Station Camp lost last night and Mt. Juliet won. I think Mt. Juliet travels to Rossview on Thursday.
  9. Mt. Juliet plays Station Camp Thursday in the 9AAA tournament championship game at 7:00 at Gallatin High School. Both games went to overtime. Mt. Juliet scored in the second over time period and won 4-3. Station Camp advanced on kicks from the mark (4-2). The game was tied 1-1 at the end of the overtime periods. I think Lebanon scored both goals. Good luck to both teams. When was the last time (if ever) that Hendersonville did not play in the district tournament championship game?

Does high school have stoppage time?
  11. Congrats to Lebanon on their first district tournament win in 9AAA defeating Wilson Central 2-1. Semi-finals are tonight. Hendersonville vs. Mt. Juliet 6:00 Station Camp vs. Lebanon 8:00 Both games are at Gallatin High School.

Murfreesboro Central is a fairly new magnet school.
  13. With a 31 game unbeaten streak, until someone beats them, Franklin is #1. A repeat of last years final is very possible. But as we all know, soccer can be a cruel game sometimes.
  14. If the weather cooperates, the regular season will be done this week. Station Camp is the likely winner of the regular season. There is still a lot to be decided. Station Camp 5-0 (Beech & Lebanon) Hendersonville 5-1 (Gallatin) Wilson Central 3-2 (Gallatin & Mt. Juliet) Lebanon 3-2 (Mt. Juliet & Station Camp) Mt. Juliet 3-2 (Lebanon & Wilson Central) Gallatin 2-3 (Wilson Central & Hendersonville) Beech 1-5 (Station Camp) Portland 0-7
  15. Hendersonville and Station Camp play tonight (sorry about my mistake on previous post). Hendersonville 5-0 (Station Camp & Gallatin) Station Camp 4-0 (Hendersonville, Beech & Lebanon) Wilson Central 3-2 (Gallatin & Mt. Juliet) Lebanon 3-2 (Mt. Juliet & Station Camp) Mt. Juliet 3-2 (Lebanon & Wilson Central) Gallatin 2-3 (Wilson Central & Hendersonville) Beech 1-5 (Station Camp) Portland 0-7
  16. I will clarify. The crazy rumor is two Station Camp players may be transferring. I am not sue why they would want to transfer. Station Camp has a very good chance to make it to the state tournament.
  17. I am not mentioning names because this is all rumor. I have heard of a player from Central going to a 7AAA school. I also heard a crazy rumor about Station Camp losing two players.
  18. Thursday's match between Hendersonville and Station Camp will likely determine the district regular season champ. Hendersonville 5-0 (Station Camp & Gallatin) Station Camp 4-0 (Hendersonville, Beech & Lebanon) Wilson Central 3-2 (Gallatin & Mt. Juliet) Lebanon 3-2 (Mt. Juliet & Station Camp) Mt. Juliet 2-2 (Gallatin, Lebanon & Wilson Central) Gallatin 2-2 (Mt.Juliet, Wilson Central & Hendersonville) Beech 1-5 (Station Camp) Portland 0-7
  19. I am hearing transfer rumors in 9AAA. Does anyone know of definite moves?
  20. Updated district standings with remaining games. Hendersonville 4-0 (Beech, Station Camp & Gallatin) Station Camp 3-0 (Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, Beech & Lebanon) Lebanon 3-2 (Mt. Juliet & Station Camp) Mt. Juliet 2-1 (Station Camp, Gallatin, Lebanon & Wilson Central) Wilson Central 2-2 (Portland, Gallatin & Mt. Juliet) Gallatin 2-2 (Mt.Juliet, Wilson Central & Hendersonville) Beech 1-4 (Hendersonville &Station Camp) Portland 0-6 (Wilson Central) Final two weeks are going to be interesting. Spots two through five are up for grabs. If you see a mistake, let me know.
  21. I am not sure how accurate these standings are. Hendersonville beat Mt. Juliet last night. Coach T has the score at 2-0 and Eurosportscoreboard has 3-0. Lebanon beat Gallatin 4-0. A lot of big games coming up. Hendersonville 3-0 8-4 Lebanon 3-2 3-2-1 Station Camp 2-0 6-2 Mt. Juliet 2-1 8-3 Wilson Central 2-1 3-1-1 Gallatin 1-1 4-6-2 Beech 0-3 3-6-2 Portland 0-5 2-9-1
  22. Concur with 1. Station Camp and 2. Gallatin. I think Portland will be better, but probably close to the bottom. The rest of the teams, you could probably draw names out of a hat and be just as accurate.
  23. I agree. Central was clearly the best team in 9AAA this year.
  24. Why would they make it private? It is what it is. The game is over and nothing can be done to change the outcome.
