  1. Hey I agree that this thread needs to stay on topic but I can't stand it when people argue about things they have no knowledge of.. my prediction? Johnson Co. nothing replaces game experience...
  2. Greeneville got lucky in this one...Considering we are talking about making it to the THIRD round, Volunteer is the easiest ticket to the Third round a coach could ask for...
  3. You obviously have no reason to even be on here arguing ANY point... Wiggins PLAYS at college of Charleston... 33 minutes in HIS FIRST GAME....do I need to say anymore on that? maybe you should learn to start posting on subjects you actually have knowledge in...just a thought On another note... why would Greeneville want to play ANOTHER team to just beat up on? They won More Than 15 Games last year by over 20 points... that's 3A ball...
  4. ok so why don't we prove this point with STATISTICS and FACTS not biased opinions from hometown homeboys... In the 2006 Hardee's tournament, Cherokee beat Elizabethton by more than 20 in the 1st round, Unicoi county in the second round, and Sullivan East by more than 20 in the championship game... Sullivan East you say? Well they beat Happy Valley to get to the championship game in which they got stomped...ok so that 3 teams? hmm... Cherokee beat West Greene TWICE last year, by more than 10 in each instance... So to summarize... Cherokee (who was second to the almighty Greeneville) beat 4 of the top teams in that conference and lost to noone in that conference... and that's just the stat i know...Because I played...
  5. OK so I have a lot of work to do on here...Let's get started shall we? Cherokee, like Morristown East has lost some key players that would have given them a chance to do well in this district. I'm not going to go into details but I'll just say that only 2, count em 2... Cherokee basketball players that are returning will have game experience, limited game experience...and only 1 of those 2 is a senior... While Cherokee can always be expected to give 110%, play defense, and a slow and calculated offense, I'm just afraid that the talent on this team is only 2 or 3 players deep. but hey nevertheless... I'll be there on Friday anyway! Whose House? Our House! Sullivan East is in the Big Nine man....and yeah he is playing basketball, word is that he shot around with LMU this summer...but take this topic to another thread...
  6. If Volunteer makes it out of the Castle with only a 2 touchdown loss I will be amazed. Tennessee High plays at a different level.
  7. Anyone who says that the Watagua has a higher level of competition than the IMAC is obviously uninformed and biased. I would love to hear someone try to prove that point.
  8. How is Skyler McBee progressing? I watched him play when he was only a sophomore and he appeared to have excellent potential.
  9. Hardly the best player in the state....
  10. For the 2nd year running the winner of this HEATED rivalry game goes to the playoffs and the loser walks. It is like a Hawkins County Elimination game. Does it turn out like last year???
  11. One of them MIGHT make it out of Substate...
  12. UNicoi's other big man last year being Scott schultz. I don't think UC will get too far this year after their losses of big men Weaver and Schultz and PG McCormick
  13. oh... you must have forgot the topic... state tournament basketball teams...Chuckey Doak? I think it takes 4 more players to get to state by the way.
  14. Better than Wiggins? I'd have to see it to believe it.
  15. I would hardly say that this is a heated rivarly especially considering the teams you are talking about.
  16. I think Dobyns Bennett will make another run at state this year and you can never count out a squad of Coach Duncan's at Greeneville
  17. ok so this is the 3rd time ivve tried to make this post... maybe it will work this time... Barb... its good to see you on here again... reminds me of the good ol days... But back to topic... Im lookin for Cherokee to come out and prove that they are better than their record indicates... the conclusion to the Crockett game was excellent by the way.... they have the potential to be good, they have just been lacking the discipline... Im not entirely sure but I believe we won the IMAC my sophomore or junior year... '04 or 05
  18. Hopefully the confidence building win at Central will help them get back on track
  19. Cherokee comes back with a chip on their shoulder...
  20. So if i were to kick a "field goal" from my 10 and the ball rolled to the 50, I could down it there like a punt or the returner could bring it back?
  21. I watched Curt Phillips play against Unicoi County 2 week back and was not too impressed with his accuracy... He had the pocket presence and decision making of a D1 player buit most of his throws just werent there...Even though I haven't seen Greeneville play this year, I still hold to the opinion that it will be a while until Greeneville is known for a mens sport besides basketball...
  22. If Cherokee's linbackers(who are extremely atheletic) can fill their holes and follow their asignments, i think Cherokee can return to their old ways and play with a hard hitting stingy D...
  23. The general consensus on here is that Db has the best place to play, and I definately agree, they have an excellent facility. but as far as the best atmosphere I dont really agree. As a former player, it is much more excitin to play in a stadium where the grandstands are closest to the field. it bring the noise and energy closer to the action. J Fred Johnson stadium is huge and it doesnt reall confine the noise to the area. A place like volunteer can get loud because the crowd is so close to the field and the noise kinda stays confined to the football stadium making it seem much louder
  24. I've been a little off the 5 rivers scene... Who is injured on East?
  25. Morristown West is good at the one and two seeds
