Well I have waited long enough to post about the game the other night. I do believe that Cocke County deserved that number 2 seed in the District tournament. But they did not get the luck of the draw. Unfortunately if they win tonight then they will end up in the same side as Greeneville. Their game against Greeneville was probably a confident boost for the Lady Reds. I don't believe that if the two meet in the regional tournament on a court other than their home court that the game will be that close. Give Cocke county credit, they played one heck of a game. They had a lot of emotion and had a point to prove. I do believe they will be in the top of the IMAC for the next three years. Congratulations to the coach and the team. Good luck the rest of the season. Greeneville did not show up and play the other night against Cocke County. I think that the lay off between that game and their previous game would result in some of the sloppy play. I think that they will come out focused tonight and lay it to ol Johnny Boy. They have a lot to prove. I know everyone is thinking how did Greeneville get to be where they are with playing like that, but let me tell you the cocke county game was by far one of their worst showings. Coach Crumbley hit the nail on the head in her comments to Seth. She gave Cocke County credit and said that her team did not play with a purpose. Look for the Lady Devils to have a purpose tonight against Morristown West. If Cocke county plays like they did last friday look for them to face Greeneville in the Regionals. Cocke County will win tonight and in the first round of the Regional tournament. Greeneville by 15 Jeff county by 10 I don't see Depew matching the play of Deans. Deans is too physical. Depew may be that way in the next few years, but I see Deans out muscling her.

Well what are your predictions for Friday night? Greeneville vs. Cocke County? This will be a tough game for greeneville since they are playing at cocke county. I believe that Cocke county will come out on fire and play their hearts out. They have nothing to lose. However I do believe that Greeneville will withstand the storm of the mighty rooooosters. Greeneville clamps down on the roosters on the defensive end and win this game in the second half. Greeneville by 15. Morristown West vs. Jefferson County? R.R. wich team from Jefferson County is riding the bus to the game? If the team that came and played last night comes on Friday I am picking Jeff to win. I believe they need play the zone defense that they did last night and make Morristown West hit shots. Given the way that West has played this year it will be difficult for that to happen. West is just not lighting it up. They can't depend on Cross to carry the load. West was lucky to get the number 2 seed or their season would already be over. I look for Coach Potts to through everything offensively at West and shut them down on the defensive end. Jefferson County by 10.

That foul was an iffy call. It probably should have been a no call. Both girls were playing the ball. The official that made the call did not have a good look from all angles. He probably thought that the Cocke County girl had position and the M.East girl delivered most of the blow. It could have went either way. I got bored with all the jump balls myself. Let the kids play. One good thing is we don't have to watch these officials for Friday nights games.....Morristown East could have used their posts a lot more. I think that Leeper should have stayed in the game for the fourth quarter.

I have to disagree. If you have a son or daughter that plays on that schools team and one of those teams are playing then the parent (offical) should not be allowed to ref that game. I know that they could have got another official to call the game. I am not saying that the official would be unbiased, but to protect the image of himself and the school it would be in the best interst to find someone else. I think the biggest issue is the offical is a parent of a player on one of cocke counties boy team. Whether it is right or wrong who knows, but just for the sake of it find someone else to call the game.

I was just curious. I know that at the greeneville and morristown east game the parents in the stands were a little crazy. They were just running their mouth and bad mouthing the coaches. I know that Livesay has done a good job to bring the out of that cellar. One of the comments was we won't have to worry about his coaching decisions this year.

Is there any truth to the rumor that both Morristown East and Cocke County coaches are done after this year?

Don't be too fast to point out the 30 point loss. They didn't have any time to prepare for that team. Also it was earlier in the season and they really were not playing as good as they are now. Do I think they match up well with W.C.? No! However they did have time to prepare for a Cleveland team that was ranked number 9 in the USA today poll. In that game they went to two overtimes. They had the opportunity at the end of regulation and the first overtime to win the game. Their other loss was to a number 4 team in the USA today poll. They only lost to them by 10. They also had a chance to win the game but did not come out on top. Mt. Juliet lost to that same team in one of their first games. Greeneville has beeten a very talented Knoxville Webb team. The team and coaches had time to prepare for this game and it showed. They come away with a big victory. I think that game gave those girls the confidence to finish and win the big game. So if you look at how the AP votes you have to take into consideration that Greeneville has fared really well this year. I believe that they have earned the respect that they have gotten from the AP. The have played some of the great teams that all of the other top five have played. Cleveland beat Webb at the beginning of the year, Shelbyville also beat Webb at the beginning of the year. Mt. Juliet loses to a team that Greeneville loses too. Wilscon Central loses to Mt. Juliet. Mt. Juliet loses later in the year to W.C. So you can see that really any of the top 6 teams are capable of winning the big games. I think that it is pretty even from 1-6. All of this means nothing now. It is put up or shut up time for everyone. Region 1 may not be as strong as what people think it should but it by far is not the weekest in the state. Good luck to all in the tourney. Greeneville is a very fortunate "team" to be voted number 1. I don't personally believe that Greeneville is number 1, but those kids have played hard and done what they have needed to do this year. They have played a lot better in the latter part of the year. I think that W.C. deserves the number one position and then you can go any way for the rest of the top five spots. Congratulations to Greeneville for the number 1 ranking. I know these ladies will take it with a grain of salt and take care of business to make it back to the boro. Good luck Lady Devils.

I don't believe that any greeneville fans have taken away from what Omar did that night. We all agree that Omar had an excellent game. I have watched him since then and he was not as dominant in the games after the greeneville game. You have to consider everything that was going on up to that game. Greeneville was the number one team in the state. Science Hill wanted to be a spoiler and they did. It didn't help that Wiggins and Gash were sick, but we know that is not an excuse. On that night Science Hill was the better team. I do believe the game will be a lot different if they do meet again. However I don't see them meeting again. I do believe that D.B. will nock them out in the District. Greeneville will be ready when they travel to the tri-cities for the regional tournament. I think that everyone is downplaying the success that Greeneville has had this year, but that is the way it always goes. "It ain't easy being GREENE!"

What was on there? We in Greeneville never get to see much about the Girls teams!!!!

Sorry but the only team that really had a good chance to beat them was Morristown East. Morriston West also had a chance when they played at Greeneville. For some reason it is hard for people to just say hey Greeneville has a good team. Lets give them the respect and go on. Last year people gave West their respect. They were the team in the I-MAC. Greeneville had difficulty when they played them last year, but you never saw anyone say that Morristown would not win district or that Morristown was overrated. But like everyone says: "It aint Easy being Greene!!!" I do believe that the only two teams that have a good shot at beating Greeneville will be the Cocke County/Morristown East winner. Then again that is why everyone plays the game. You never know what happens come tournament time. I know that when we go to the regional the I-MAC has a chance to upset some Big 9 teams. PT is just supporting his team just like we all do. He has his opinion about how the game went and how some calls could have changed the outcome. We all could complain about something with the officials but it is not going to do any good. Their job is really difficult at times. However I do feel that there needs to be some form of consistency every night they get on the court. Hopefully this will get better. I know that the I-MAC has some good officials, but they also have some bad one too. The bottom line is that each team needs to show up and play the best they can play to put themselves in position to win.

I believe that I would have to put Whitney Carter and Ashley Deans on the First team for Greeneville. I don't believe that Nicole deserves to be on it. I know her numbers look good, but if you take Carter out of the lineup then they are not where they are at right now. I know that some believe her turnovers are an issue, but she is probably leading the I-MAC in assist. I know she is leading the team. Also I think that I wouldn't put Rachel Collins on the second team. She has been up and down all year. If she will work harder and get stronger she will be able to be more consistent. I think that D. Macyntire (spelling is probably wrong) should be considered before Rachel. However I think that Ashley Deans deserves the Player of the Year for the IMAC. She has been a force in this conference. Well I hope that the Region tournament will be exciting. Good luck to all the teams. Since Greeneville is the number one seed do they get an automatic bid to the Regionals? I believe the only team in this region that will put up a fight in the tournament will be the Tennessee High vikings. I don't think that anyone else will be able to stop them. If Cocke County is in the lower bracket in the district then they would be fired up if they made it to the finals on their home court. That would be a hard game to win. However I don't see Greeneville losing in the District this year. Has Greenevill ever went 10-0 in the conference? I know they are ranked #2 in the state and might have the chance to move to number one with Mount Juliet losing to Wilson Central last night. I don't think that Greeneville is the number one team in the state, but they are definately a top 5 team. Any thoughts on this?

I am really not sure why this jump. I don't really agree with it. I would have 1-5 like this: 1. Wilson Central 2. Cleveland 3. Greeneville 4. Mt. Juliet 5. Shelbyville

Greeneville Devils Boys are 27-2 with the Greeneville Lady Devils at 24-3. That give both teams a combined record of 51-5. Last year the Greeneville teams had a combined record of 58-15. The Lady Devils were 30-7 and the Boys were 28-8. I am not sure of two teams in the past two years that have a better record.

Nope. I see Raleigh Egypt taking the top spot. Greeneville might be third or fourth. If anyone has been watching Greeneville they will see that they are not the top team in the state. They may have one of the top players, but overall they are not the number one team in the state. I think that if they do continue to get some support from Woods and Ottinger then they can have a chance to make the state. We also need to have Gash step up and play like he did in the beginning of the year.

I don't really think that running all of those players in and out makes Morristown East a better team. They would be much better if he would have his first five and then subs. He just rotates them way too much. I believe that the I-MAC teams are going to have to get out of their zones. They are all sitting in the zones agains greeneville and getting beat. The guards for Greeneville have stepped up and made some big shots. I know people don't want to give up the inside game, but I would rather have someone score two points than three. PT when do you get the AP rankings?

What do you expect from Morristown East at Greeneville tonight?

The rumor is that they interviewed three canidates this past saturday. One of them is inhouse and the other two are out of state. One guy is from north carolina and the other is from georgia. It is getting real late to be hiring a new coach. I know they can't expect much from these kids next year.

Tennessee? come one. They don't need him. Bruce Pearl is not going to offer him anything. You must be a student at Greeneville that thinks they know everytihng.

Sorry, but I have to disagree on the statement will Galyon outcoach Crumbley again. I don't think out coaching is what happened during the West game. If you were there you would have seen that the guards for Greeneville did not step up and make the outside shots. So if you consider a team not shooting well means that Crumbley got outcoached then you are right. If she got outcoached then West comes away with the victory. Also I do believe that Crumbley did get PrepXtra coach of the year last year. She also got coach of the year in greene county, and from the Bristol Newspaper. Also last year during the state tournament time Galyon and his team were sitting at home and not even playing in the state tournament. Crumbley and her staff had the Lady Devils advance to the Final Four of the State Tournament.
