  1. Yes….CJ would have been the best player in this district hands down. I feel sure he will be successful wherever he goes. With that said…..I still think Goodpasture will compete for one of the top 4 spots. I know they have some young talent, along with a 6’8” post player. Station Camp and White House are probably your two preseason top teams now. Greenbrier graduated their post players but return 2 starters and a slew of young talent that went 16-1 in their JV games last year. I know there are some Portland fans on here that are expecting them to be better and they should be, but I saw them scrimmage Greenbrier in the spring and Greenbrier beat them handily. DCA should be improved as well. I expect a lot close games in 8-AA this year. Not trying to be negative…but overall district 8-AA will be down as a whole. I really don’t anticipate any of these teams advancing to the state like Goodpasture did last year. One or two may advance to the substate and that’s only because they compete against 7-AA in the region. I do hope I’m wrong. None of these teams could compete with Pearl Cohn, Lipscomb or MLK this year. I’m an 8-AA fan…..and looking forward to seeing some great games. Best of luck to all of these teams.
  2. Suspect # 1 Somebody please check timbdp's fingernails for blue spray paint.
  3. Congratulations to Springfield on a great regular season. This program has made great strides over the last couple of years. Thanks for representing your school, community and Robertson County. A special congrats to Coach Offutt for the job he has done there. Good luck in the playoffs! Greenbrier will be pulling for you!
  4. Congratulations to Jo Byrns on their undefeated regular season. You have represented not only your school and community well....but all of Robertson County. You will probably seen a few GREEN jackets pulling for you these next few Friday nights. Stay on track in the playoffs...Go finish what you started.........
  5. Now...that is funny...But I thought it was 03. It was a fumble...recovered by Curt Williams of Greenbrier. I can send you the film. Good luck Bobcats....I'm headed to the Boro.......
  6. PC-35 GB-0 Another tough loss for the Bobcats. I hate to see all the injuries. I think PC may have set a record for the most penalties in one game. Overall a very athletic team with good team speed. I still predict Station Camp to win this region.
  7. So...does he have to sit out a year? No wait...those rules only apply to public schools.
  8. The Bobcats are down....but not out. Never over look Greenbrier.....especially at Bobcat Stadium. Looking forward to PC making their first trip to Greenbrier. Good luck to both teams.
  9. A very tough loss for the Bobcats. Congratulations to Sycamore. The injury report does not look good. Greenbrier has a tough 3 game stretch...starting with Pearl Cohn next week. It will be good to be back home.
  10. Umm...guys this is last years thread...started October 2005.
  11. Correct...they will probably move up to # 6..maybe even # 5.
  12. 1.Goodpasture-C J Davis 2.Station Camp-John Jenkins 3.White House-Jeremy Barnes 4.Greenbrier-Kurt Caton 5.DCA-? 6.Portland-?
  13. I really don't know how to call this game. I think it depends on which Bobcat team shows up. Hopefully not the team we saw last week against Station Camp. I do know the young Bobcat secondary will be tested. Some of the best high school footballs games I've seen have been between these two teams. I expect no less this week. This is a crucial game for Greenbrier. Time to get back on track. Good luck to both teams.
  14. Thanks for the link. I plan to see it next week during Fall break.
  15. Coach Offut....has to be on cloud 9. Another big win for the Yellow Jackets. Congratulations.....keep it going.
  16. Jo Byrns is on...."machine status". Great job. Keep it rolling.
  17. Final SC-42 GB-6 Congratulations to Station Camp. The Bison backfield lived up to the hype....but I was just as impressed with their defense. SC is my pick to win the region and go deep into the playoffs. Greenbrier has some healing up to do. I saw several injuries. Put this one behind you and get ready for Sycamore. It will be a battle for the remaing 3 playoff spots.
  18. Shez mi furst cuzinz siztur on my pappiz zide. My friend…your pick seems to be right in line with the Tennessean’s Jeff Lockridge….he has picked the upset. Would it be an upset? Greenbrier-21 Station Camp-20 Station Camp has a very good football team and their fans are excited…as they should be. The Bison running backs are explosive and their defense has not given up much to this point. I think 6-0 at this point in the season, after going 1-9 last year, says a lot about the improvement they have made. Congratulations! With that said…..I don’t think SC has seen a defense as strong as Greenbriers. The Bobcat line has made huge strides these last 3 games. If Greenbrier can contain the “big play” as they did against MC….control the clock…limit mistakes….they can possibly grind out a win. None of these Bobcat seniors have lost a region game…..that’s some good motivation. This sets up a big Friday night for high school football…..it should be fun. Here is the Tennessean article in case you haven’t seen it: http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...-1/PREPSFACTORY Good luck to both teams!
  19. I don't think GB keeps score in Freshman games.
  20. Station Camp looks impressive so far this year. Maybe Greenbrier can keep it close. We will see Friday night.
  21. Big Country: Has anyone (college) shown interest in Beach?
