This will be closed before long. Why don't ya'll not worry about the officiating anymore and just give each team credit for a hard fought game. You have Hamilton fans that are complaining about everything and they won. Hamilton you need to give Shelbyville credit for the game they played against ya'll. I hate to say it but do you think those kids got with the refs before the game and payed them or something. They just went out and left everything on the floor and fell short. It seems to me you are taking everything away from the KIDS for their efforts and what they accomplished this year. Be happy that you brought another GOLD BALL back to the West. Nothing can be done from here it's all over with. Be happy and quit complaining. Next. If you think the Hamilton coach is a moron or whatever you said your obviously not a coach or never have coached. The biggest game of the year and you expect to sit there on his hands. Emotion plays a big part of every sport and if the coach can't get emotional then maybe they should just not have coaches and just throw the kids out there and let them play. WE as coaches put a lot of time into what we do and get paid very little. I think a coach has every right to show emotion in any way he wants to show it. He has worked just as hard if not harder as the kids have.

I don't that Classifications are overrated. If you start throwing A with all the other classes I think A would get killed. I agree with what was said earlier. If you have a smaller school then you have a smaller selection of kids to choose from unlike a AAA school that can pretty much pick and choose. I have seen this just from going to summer camps with teams. You get in some of the summer games and you wonder if they are actually high school players or if they just picked them up from a church league to play in this camp. If the bigger schools have a bigger selection than the A schools then unless the A just have an outstanding year where they get a lot of good players at a smaller school then A will get killed all the time. What hurts smaller schools is it is hard to get kids to go there when they are seeing what AA and AAA schools are doing to them on the score board. I think it should stay the way it is, it makes it fair for all the classes.

K my turn. I'm from Memphis and wanted the West to bring it home again. Did I see the game??? NO. Here is why i'm posting on this topic. As a coach we have players complain all the time about getting fouled and crap like that. If there is not a whistle then it wasn't a foul is what we have to tell them. Officials are human just like the rest of us. Now grant it you have good officials and bad ones but you know they are going to make mistakes. Was the out of bounds call right??? Doesn't sound like it was from what ya'll have posted and yes maybe the official should have had a better view of what was going on but it is what it is. You have to pick yourself up and play through stuff like that and if a team does that then that is the team that will usually win. One thing that I am very dissapointed about is the Hamilton fans getting on here and posting. I don't mind that you get on here and brag on your team and maybe maybe rub it in a little, because to tell you the truth I was tired of hearing Siegel this and Siegel that so it was nice to be able to brag about something. But where all the Hamilton fans are wrong are by not giving Shelbyville any credit at all. Man it sounds like it was a hard fought game and all the KIDS gave it their all. There is no need to get on here and talk about how you would have won by 10 plus if the refs called it fair. Ya'll won the game, good job representing the West, but don't take anything away from Shelbyville and what they did by saying you should have won by more. Great job by all teams that made it to the Dance and good luck next year. Show a little class Hamilton fans on a job well done.

I'm not trying to start an argument and I haven't seen either team play, Sorry if my remarks offended anyone. From what I hear Siegel you had a good season. To tell ya'll the truth I was kinda hoping for a Siegel/Hamilton matchup just from the talk about Siegel on here. Great year though.

I just saying what I've read on here and according to "THE NATION" Siegel was going to beat Hamilton but they can't make it past WC.

Obviously playing the West in the state tourney already hurts the East and there is no shot clock. Do whatever you want the East can't beat the West.

Well since Siegel was the only opponents for any team in the West looks like we'll bring it home again.

Phil Clark. Was national coach of the year at Germantown winning state after state and a NATIONAL title and then going to Bartlett and turning a program that nobody wanted to talk about into contenders. Ya'll leave him out ever time you talk about coaches and he's not even on the say level as most of the coaches you are talking about. Good Luck to everyone on your season.

Yes your right I said that Hamilton doesn't like to play "D." They want the ball and they want to score. I noticed in the Melrose game and grant it Melrose was terrible two things. If Hamilton presses the team they are playing is in trouble. They are very long and quick. 2. If you can be patient and make them work on D then i think you get a good open shot or layup because after a few passes they don't play D they way they should with their ability. If you give Bartlett talent like this then we'd hold teams to under 40 a game. A few years back Bartlett had 3 years in a row where they only gave up 40 a game and didn't have the talent that Hamilton has now. Next thing about the RE prediction i made. I said that RE wouldnt make it out of region but i don't remember saying they would finish 4th in our district tourney. I think i made another prediction saying that Ridgeway wouldn't make it out of region and i think they lost to Wooddale. I'm not bashing Hamilton in any way and yes i think they are the most talented teams that i have ever seen hamilton have. I played and Bartlett and we played them my Jr. year in the sectional tourney and they were good back then but not this good. I'm just saying that if you don't get in a run and gun game with them and try to set the tempo you want to set then you have a chance to beat them and by making they play D longer than they want is one way to get the shots you want. When did Liberty beat RE this year????????? You sure you don't have your teams mixed up and please don't say in a scrimmage.

Ok I want to say something about this game. I haven't see Greenville play but I've seen Hamilton play. Frankly I don't care who wins because I'd like to see RE win since they are in our district. All I hear from the Ghs people is Wiggins this and Wiggins that. Do ya'll have other players to play with him??? Hamilton is a very good team and they are deep. One thing i'll say is they try to dunk way to much. I will say that the only way Ghs has a chance is if they have pretty good gaurd play. The only reason I say this is because of Hamiltons guard size. They are tall and long. If you have good enough guards to break their press then yes you have a chance. Also i think if Ghs will make Hamilton work on "D" then i think your chances increase even more. They do not want to play "D". To tell you the truth their big guys didn't impress me much and the reason i say that is because when i saw them play it was against an undersized Melrose team. For the most the HHS guards are what killed Melrose. I just hope Ghs has more than just Wiggins to play with HHS. Good Luck Greenville and Hamilton. I will make a prediction since that is what was asked. Just going by the way ya'll talk about Ghs, I will say Hamilton by 10. I think ya'll will play them close but they will pull away later in the game. One last thing to the Ghs fans. Ya'll keep saying that rankings mean nothing and i'm not saying this to talk trash or start anything. One other thing that does not mean anything is looking at scores from who hamilton has played and comparing them to other teams. Looking at that doesn't tell you anything either. Just bring your A game Thursday and you'll make it respectful and never know could pull it off.

I left the game with Bartlett still batting in the bottom of the 4th and Bhs had just hit a HR to go up 10-0. I don't know what the final ended up being.

I didn't see the USJ scrimmage. I know the first pitcher they threw had a nasty curve ball but other than that they hit everything hard. I would say if Covington plays like they did against Bartlett the other day then ya'll will beat them. They aren't very good in the field either. Grant it Bartlett hit the ball hard but on routine plays Covington made a lot of mistakes. Good luck.

Well I will say it I think nobody in Memphis is as well coached as Bartlett. Anytime you have a National Coach of the Year in your dugout you know that you have got a winner. I just thought from all the hype that Covington was getting they were going to be better than what I saw. I know one thing Bartlett hits the ball extremely hard and is very disciplined at the plate. I coach basketball at Bartlett and I know Clark was saying this is one of the deepest pitching rotations that he has had. Anytime you have Nuccio who would have signed somewhere D1 but his grades are bad batting 7th you know that you have a pretty deep lineup as well. I was just thinking Covington was a little better. I will say one thing if ya'll think Covington is the best AA team around then I think other AA teams are in better shape than they think.

If you pick Covington to be #1 in West Tn is AA you might want to go watch them play. I saw them today and they aren't very good unless Bartlett is just that good.

I went out and watched Bartlett scrimmage Covington today. The reason I went was because I wanted to join in on the baseball talk and I thought I read on here somewhere how good Covington was suppose to be. I stayed for 3 1/3 innings and Bartlett was winning 10-0. Now I don't know if Bhs is going to be that good or Covington is that bad. Any thoughts on these two? Bartlett hit 4 HRs in 3 1/3 and their defense was incredible. Shawn Smith was on the hill and pitched pretty well. Covington hit him hard a couple times but other than that they couldn't touch him.

Nuccio is going to Southwest Tennessee Community College. Dane is going to Memphis.

Alright. If you read all my post then you would have known what i said before the game. Before getting on here and going off I said that i hope Bartlett would win but that we were playing a very good team in Northside and that it would be a tough one. So i gave ya'll credit and i'm not taking anything away from ya'lls win. The next thing about the class part. I understand ya'll cheering after the game and being excited. I've been there and won substate when I was at Bartlett. I know what it feels like to be on top of the world that night and it's the best feeling you can have next to winning a State Championship. Now if you read my post like you said you did, Did I ever mention anything about ya'lls coach?? If you read carefully then you'll see that i didn't. Next did I ever point out a particular player or person? I've learned a lot from what you said. Obviously the only thing you are worried about on that team is your daughter Candace. No once in your post did you mention anything about the team themselves but only your daughter. I was sitting right behind the bartlett bench and know what i saw. It is one thing to celebrate and be happy but it's another thing when a team is down because of a loss that they stood at half court and shout stuff at the other team and yes it did happen because I had to go and get Brianna away before she ran over there. That to me is not class. Class is showing respect to a team after you beat them and not shouting whatever the heck they were shouting. I never said once that ya'll weren't good and that you weren't the better team. I think if we played ya'll 10 times each team would win 5 of the games. Another thing about the "B" stomping. You know maybe it's one thing for the players to take pictures on the "B" since the participated but it's another for parents to get out there and do it. You can't tell me what i did and did not see. And the last time i checked i don't think bartlett fans were sitting around with our "mouth poked out." I do believe that after the game the remainder of bartlett fans that were there went over to the locker room and chanted for the girls and coaches to exit the locker room. Were we upset that we lost?? yes. But we let the girls know that we were supporting them for the great season we had. So don't try to turn it around on me saying i'm trying to take the win away from ya'll by talking about something else because i had already said in another post ya'll were good and that it would be tough for us to beat ya'll.

I was not at the scrimmage so I have no clue what went on. I had to work the Bartlett Girls substate game last night. I got all my information by one of the players parents so i'm sorry if some of it was wrong. Thanks for the info..

Listen i will help you out. Just press Northside the entire game they cannot handle a full court press. If ya'll don't run a 2-2-1 press tell your coach to put on in for this game. You will drive Northside nuts. If Bartlett presses them the entire game then ya'll would be playing Bartlett instead of Northside.
