  1. Official Visits to Western Kentucky (this year's 1-AA Champion) and MTSU and Samford in Birmingham (OVC now). Possibility of Rice University, Houston, TX (Western Athletic Conference).
  2. This is austen speaking, I think my leading reciever #28 SEAN NOREM deserves the award. If you don't believe me come on SAT.
  3. hey bruin27 - I wasn't picking on you. I knew that you knew how Austen felt - it was more for those who might have felt he was disappointed - those who don't know him well. Sorry you can't make it to State Championship Game. You also helped make this program what it is today. Also, DAD1 - yes, it's about to end, but what a way to go out, huh?? Thanks for all your sweat to make the Bruins and Team Brentwood what they are. Thanks for welcoming us in and for all you've done to encourage our "wimpy little QB" - #11.
  4. Hey bruin27 - hope you're at the game Saturday Night. Does Austen feel robbed? No he doesn't. What an honor to be there at the Awards. (Special thanks to American General.) They announced that these were 45 boys among 17,000 who play in Tennessee. Since the award was based entirely on the Regular Season - Abe Felix had over 1700 yards and only got to play 7 games. Must be a "stud." I know that Austen is glad to trade that recognition for this chance in GAME #15 at the Blue Cross Bowl on Saturday Night. I think Abe Felix would feel the same way. GO WIN YOURSELVES A CHAMPIONSHIP RING BRUINS !!!!! These Seniors have worked at this since an undefeated season back at Woodland Middle Scool back in 1998. Austen's Dad
  5. what about when the returner calls for a fair catch? we had a player get run over last week on a play like this - NO FLAG WAS THROWN.
  6. Is Commando like potato - does it have an "e" on the end. Hey just1np - what has happened to Hendersonville? They have been pretty powerful for a few years - and they "drummed" the Green Wave last year. How many Seniors on Gallatin's squad this year?
  7. A lot of season left - 3 regular season and 5 playoff games. However, Austen Everson of Brentwood already has 420 Rushing and 930 passing for 1,350 total yards (according to Tuesday's Tennessean) compared to Gallatin's QB-Johnson at 435 + 347 = 782 total. (As a Junior, Everson had over 900 and 1800 - so he's on track for similar numbers.) Both Teams will probably meet again this year. Who is Abe Felix and what are his stats?
  8. By the way, it was 162 passing plus 157 rushing (the 21 yard TD by Fugate was left out of the totals). So 319 yards offense plus 85 yards penalties. That says we gained 404 on BA and gave them back the 85. 404 yards on a GREAT team like BA?? You bet BHS is going to be O.K. Cliff Taylor, one of BA's stars said he expects both teams in their respective Championship Games this year.
  9. And that he was playing BOTH WAYS for the first time in his career. OT and DE Several did this - Everson went QB and DB for much of the game.
  10. chakra20 said ..... "Why schedule them :/ Unless u REALLY beleive u can beat them." What do the message board participants think about that approach? That oughta toughen you up for a playoff run - huh? By the way - BA is good (from a Bruin fan by the way) which is why we schedule them.
  11. chakra20 - why would you only schedule teams you could beat? That wouldn't do a lot for your team. The reason BHS schedules them is to be ready to play the most important Region games. It worked well last year - started with a 16-14 loss to BA and ended the regular season 9-1. I wasn't trying to take anything away from BA - I was there. I saw their team. I saw their determination and dedication and "man-sized" players. I still stand by the observation that it's about RECRUITING not about the "Legend" or anything else that made them better than BHS on Saturday Night. Carlton said it best when he summed it up to our Coach Crawford after the game by saying "we stole that game from you." He truly showed some class in that statement as did a few of the players after the game who commented about how tough BHS was versus what they anticipated.

    Carlton Who???

Why would he let the media focus so much on HIM? Why not his team - the school - the kids are what it's all about. I know you can't argue with nine state championships - but when you recruit a middle Tennessee All Star team, what else would you expect? Come on. I for one say GO BRENTWOOD BRUINS!!! Give coach Flatt a real welcome back - so he can focus on what's important. The kids - not himself.
  13. Last year was a very close game - but an ugly one. (16-14 BA won at their place.) Neither team played very crisp. This year it is at BHS - on a Saturday night - huge fan base. Should be an exciting game. I would lean toward new BHS Head Coach Crawford (former Def Coordinator from Riverdale), Les Steckel (former NFL Off Coordinator) to take it to Carlton Flatt on his return to coaching. BA will have no trouble rebounding from an 0-1 start though.
