Can Cloudland host substate games if they win their region tournament? I know in the past they were not allowed so I was just wondering.

Vic.....Do you have any idea on a date for the sub-sectional games?

Did this team have tryouts? Who is coaching them?

Just wondering what happened on a cold day in Wartburg.

I"m pretty sure the supplement is 3000.00...still not very much. I don't know what is going to happen but I wish the boys at CHS the very best. Hang in there...it'll all work out!

Rumor has it around OSHS that Kayla and Coach Christopher may be headed to Webb...any truth to these rumors? I sure hope not. Kayla is alot of fun to watch!

Hang on a minute guys. You are comparing apples to oranges when you talk about who beat who earlier in the year. The Harriman team you guys saw earlier in the season is the same team that got beat by Oakdale!!! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> They are a MUCH improved ball club. Also the Warburg vs. Unaka game in the Christmas tourney is probably one of the worst games Warburg has played all year. And from what I've heard Unaka has laid down and quit late in the season so the fact that you guys beat them by 25 doesn't mean much!!! Now...I think the game will be a good one. You guys from UH don't book your rooms to the 'boro until after the game! It's going to take a good game by either team to win the game!

The problem that you run into when you try to teach fundamentals and not just plays is the fact that parents/school administration expect to win. There are not many coaches that can just coach good fundamentals and get kids ready for high school and not worrying about winning because the parents would be out to find a new coach. It's a sad but true thing! I think you have to find a good balance.....

Bama is exactly right.......the "star" factor killed Wartburg. Hopefully those boys learned from that!

Kaz...you are 100% correct. The problem is that we have way too many teams in Area II. When Area 4 has like 7 in their tournament and we have 14 from Oakdale to Jellico to Harrogate it's getting a little ridiculous. Livesay played nobody that is currently in the tournament. Kaz you think real hard and let's see if we can find a way to make this thing fair!

The thing about the Livesay/Wartburg game is this. Livesay was a 7 seed. Their record this season was 15-1. Not hardly deserving of a 7 seed. They are a very disciplined team who play well together! I truly believe that Oneida is the only team in the tourney that can play with them. On the girls side...I believe the Wartburg/Oakdale game will be a good one. All three games between the two have been decided by less than 10 points each time.

It was a very sloppy game in which Wartburg won by 1 point. They led by as many as 10 in the 2nd half.

He may have had 31, the News-Sentinel said 29....either way I guess those people in Oneida who said "DJ who" will know who he is now!

Well Kaz....DJ may not be his brother, but he did drop 29 on your team at your place Friday night! This years bulldog team isn't getting alot of attention, but that is good! I think last years team bought into the hype...this years seems to just be playing ball and taking care of business! Great game guys! Congrats Coach Layne! Go Dogs!

CYJacket...I'm glad to see that even a staunch Coalfield fan is a little upset with the way things went down in the 4-A tournament. I have never in my life seen kids act the way those did at the end of that game. When that boy was waving at the official when he fouled out, the coach should have been outraged, instead he and his assistant just kinda laughed about it. Coalfield has a great athletic department, however this sort of thing has to be stopped! It was an embarrassment to Coalfield and to people in Morgan County. I hope that all involved are punished in some form or fashion!

Courtking and BigDave, You guys need to just settle down a little! Both of you guys are getting a little too fired up for this topic! Area II will be quite competitive every year. I think the numbers thing is overblown. Neither Wartburg or Oneida (the two schools which I guess are the biggest) haven't won an East Tennessee title in years. Neither team dominates the area, so I don't see what all the fuss is about. Courtking...as for all the talk about WMS coaches, you seem to be awful close to that situation. Do you know those guys/girls personally?
