  1. I will take issue with any official who does not like fan criticism. I also do not agree with the,"well why don't you just become an official yourself" stance either. It is my belief that any job that you are getting paid for, needs to be a job well done. It is the job of the official to be well versed in the rules, and to pay attention to the game at all times. Fans certainly have a right to complain about the officiating this year. Personally, I think it gets worse as the years go by.
  2. Having lived there, I would not have believed it if I was not witness to it. The QB club pretty much controls the hiring and firing of the coaching staff. Politics is not the word for it.
  3. The atmosphere is going to be great. I love Highshool football. I love the DAWGS more. Who's going to win? Obviously, Smyrna has more to lose. I'm looking forward to evaluating the offense for myself.
  4. Wow, pretty strong words for former teammates. So, who is the "trash" you are referring to?
  5. From what I have read and heard on the news, etc... this means that the current meds are not intended most especially for children. Now, the FDA is putting a warning on the label extending the warning to ages 18-24. Now, the anti-depressants tend to work better for adults, not children, hence the warning: The Food and Drug Administration proposed labeling changes that would expand a warning now on all antidepressants. The current language applies only to children and adolescents. The expanded warning would apply to adults 18-24 during the first month or two of treatment with the drugs, the FDA said. The proposed labeling changes also would note that studies have not shown this increased risk in adults older than 24, and that adults 65 and older taking antidepressants have a decreased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior, it said
  6. I would rather discuss Smyrna'a accomplishments, not get into a ###### contest with each other. This self ego inflating is a little obnoxious.
  7. I'm pro choice. I believe there are several instances where a young woman might find herself in need of an abortion. Rape and incest are the main reasons. Also, I am adamantly opposed to the death penalty. As many victims of heinous crimes deserve justice, there are many men who are wrongfully accused that have later been proven innocent. Also, until we stop executing the mentally ill and mentally retarded, I can not support it.
  8. There is a matter of being morally correct and there is no way I am teaching in a school that a boy can go in a bathroom with a girl. No way. What about the girls, don't they have rights? I've always said, I will never live anywhere except Tennessee. This is one reason why.
  9. There's no doubt that Rod is a special player, but do you think all this hub bub over just one or two players is necessary? In the end, what difference does it make? Four or five years from now, we'll all know who was right. Not to say let's all quit debating. After all what's his name beat out Peyton Manning for the Heisman. Personally, I think there are several boys on Smyrna's team, maybe not all DI, but quite capable of playing on Saturday.
  10. Perhaps you're correct. I would not think that the women would be the main bread winners, though. Also, based on cultural understandings, that is why I would think that they would be totally shamed.
  11. What's that mean? I'd tired of finding out the hard way. I'm too old.
  12. I'm sure a lot of those women did what they had to survive at the time. No doubt a lot of them were forced to do that. At , I'm almost certain, they were also shamed by their own families.
  13. I'm banking on Phil going home tonight. What does everyone else think?
  14. Ahem, I always new I was unique in some way (lol). I finally figured it out! I'm the only one.
  15. In my opinion, if someone is behaving is such a manner that they have to be removed from class, then something needs to be done about that person. I don't think this should become a "lib" or conservative issue. At some point, common sense has to come into play when things like this happen. Too many people died, too many families are destroyed. Let's face it, America is becoming increasingly violent and our children are the one's who are paying the price.
