  1. What has happened to Page?Tthey looked good early, when I saw them play earlier in the year, I heard some girls quit and I also heard they had some injuruies. Where is the new coach from, I don't think he teaches at PHS?
  2. Congrats to Coach Whitefield, next year Fairview should be a lot better than they were this year. Lots of experienced players coming back and a good schedule. Things should be good for a while, Coach Whitfield is a good guy but my prediction is that he will do like all of the other coaches at Fairview and move on after a little success. I hope not, but just look at recent events.
  3. Donathan I realize you are talking about Franklin's coach, calling plays from the pressbox. But the more I think about it, yes it is unusual but then again what's wrong with it. If he feels he can get a better view and do a better job then fine. Looking at the FHS website, he has Donnie Webb, Marshall Winkler, Ken Curtis, Howard Gamble, I guess the youngest would be kurt Jones, all of these guys have a lot of experience coaching football. I think this shows he has confidence in his assistants. Donathan your coach had confidence in you and you'll have another head coach soon. Keep up the good work!
  4. You have a good example of a coach with no high school head coaching experience leading not only your athletic department but also coaching the boys basketball team and a very good girls basketball coach that had no experience.
  5. I agree with you it would be the right thing, I hope Eubanks gets the job. But look at who's making the decisions, if you think Webb is losing sleep over who the next football coach is at Indy who're crazy. I would hate to see Eubanks get passed over by Indy and be too late for the Fairview job. If he doesn't get the Indy job now, I don't think he will ever get it.
  6. Jason Eubanks is obviously the favorite for the job by both the players and community. However, there are a few things that I think hurt him 1. No head coaching experience, 2) He has no experience on the offensive side of the ball( please do not mention middle school football, that does not compare), 3) Webb does not care about the percieved power, many of you have posted that Eubanks has in the community. He has no power, he simply has the respect of the community for the job he has done. Webb cares about academics not athletics, if she could find a common balance between the two you would not be looking for annother coach. I am pulling for Eubanks but I cannot help but feel that Webb will go with someone else. I would like see Nowell as OC at INdy if Eubanks gets the job. If Eubanks cannot get this job I would like to see hime leave Indy for the Fairview job to get some head coaching experience. By the way. the article about Herzogg in the paper Sunday, did not sit well with alot of people, many thought it was very inappropriate and could ultimately hurt his chances.
  7. Brentwood will not change coaches as long as next season, Coach Hatley is one of the sports good guys. You need to realize your tallent level has been down since Ravenwood was built so it's going to be a while before you have a 20 win season again. Dennis King is not stupid he could see what was on the horizon, Coach Hatley could also see that Independence was on the horizon , so he chose the view from Brentwood instead of Page. Do you blame him?
  8. Actually, once a new head coach is hired all positions are open. A head coach is not obligated to retain assistant coaches. The new coach could have coaches that actually teach at other schools and travel to CHS after school.
  9. That would be " The Bear" - Centennial better hire a coach quickly, most coaches would be more interested in Independence because of the feeder system the biggest drawback will be the principal due to her lack of support for athletics.
  10. Eubanks would be the obvious choice, if Webb hires from within the current staff. Gates is not even an option, no explanation needed. After all of the coaching changes this year, I believe Crawford (Brentwood) has the longest tenure in the county with four years, then Rector(Ravenwood) and Matakavich(Fairview) I think 3 years, and Clayton (Franklin) two years. As Williamson County continues to de-emphasize the importance of athletics within a school, this rate of coaching changes( not just in football but other sports as well) will continue.
  11. Be patient!!They will annnounce D. Nowell as the coach very soon, some kinks have to be worked out first.
  12. Hang in there Pageman!!!!Like you have said before cut down on your turnovers and match them with the 3 ball - this group is probably the least talented I have seen in a long time, but they play hard.
  13. Now that everyone has their schedules completed for 2007.Who has taken the place of Licoln County, Father Ryan, and Oakland on Franklin's schedule for next year? Please post next year's Region 6 AAAAA schedule?
  14. HH days of coaching in Wilco are long gone! New zone lines should be made public next month. Page may get as many as 250 new students the next year.
