I would rank them as follows: 1) Hendersonville 2) Mt Juliet or Riverdale 3) Goodpasture 4) Brentwood

It's not possible for three teams out of the same district to get to regionals is it? It has to be the two best of Mt. Juliet - Hendersonville - or Wilson Central - or Beech ( or whoever) and once we get through that, the second place team has to get through Brentwood, who will be first in their district, Correct? Please explain how this works.

As mechanics get better, and as a young lady gets physically taller and stronger both speed and control will get stronger. I have seen young ladies increase their speed in high school and in college. Technique alone can increase speed. Drop offs in speed occur most frequently in young girls that developed early and grew to full height by 11 or 12. I don't know why this is, it just is a pattern I have observed.

I think if you cancel a game, right before it is scheduled to happen, unless the weather prevents you from playing it, it is a forfeit. At least that is what I have seen happen before. The games ended up being listed as 7 to 0. Hopefully not, in this case, that would really stink.

Huntsville beat Lawrence Co.10-0; Assumption 3-0; Clay Chalkville 2-0; Ider 9-0; and lost to Vestavia 6-4. Vestavia beat Corner 6 to 1 in the Championship game.

After defeating Baker 3-2, Corner makes final game. They will play Vestavia or Huntsville in championship game, last update Vestavia was leading Huntsville 5-2 in their semi. My guess is that Vestavia will take the championship game.

Didnt see any pretenters at this tourny. All teams were strong. It could have been anybodys day.

It's in how they prepare for a tournament ( it's the coaches responsibility) to have his girls prepared! : " Come talk to me about that girl when she is about 18 and ready to try to use her talents to get a scholarship. I'll bet she is unable to pitch anymore. Overuse injuries are a reality. 4 to 6 games a day repeatably is a set up for tragedy.

They are playing a harder schedule this year which will help them grow as a team. They got to the top eight of the Hendersonville tournament. They are in the Worth tournament this weekend and that has some very strong teams. That will be a good test for them as it well be for all the teams in it.

Harmon left Cavara's phone number on the Brentwood tournament post. I would call him. From what they say on this board they do still need more teams. The Worth tournament has been filled up for months so the Brentwood one would be your best bet. They left the list of teams on the same post.

I dont think so. What you have now is some sectionals have way more powerful teams than others. If two teams go from every region and you have sixteen at state it is more fair. Being the top 16 out of 100 teams is an accomplishment anyway you look at it. If you want to have only eight then dont make the same regions play each other every year in the sectional. Do it like colleges do. Have a super regional in which the top so many teams advance. That way you eliminate " hot spots"

Jessica Duncan is the main pitcher for the Owls, if she was the one pitching the championship game against Soddy.

I think the top two from each district advance to the regionals, but what happens then? Do the top two in the district advance? Is the regional double or single elimination? Where is it played? How about the sectional?

What is the silver division? Did they not win pool play games that put them into the lower bracket, or did they enter in the silver division in the first place? Either way , Mt Juliet is a very good team: I dont think they will brag much about winning in a lower bracket. Back to the subject, Hendersonville over Wilson Central - Mt. Juliet over Beech

Pitches are worked on year round!! Yes you take lessons that is a given, but you always work on new pitches. A pitcher has to work on developing them , getting them to work better!!

It is VERY important for a pitcher to work one on one with her catcher , everyday at high school practice, WITHOUT batters so she can work on her pitches to get them working as she wants them for games. Without this practice, you will notice a decline in effectiveness over the course of the season. She needs time at practice to work on spins, control, new pitches, technique, ect.......

I good quote comes to mind when I read this " Practice and become so good they CANT ignore you" They will play you if they like you or not. Amazing how many things this philosophy overcomes.

The coach should not have to put up with stuff from parents or players. This thread is ridiculous. We dont know why, we dont need to know why. Unless you are the player or parent of the player that was involved in this action, it doesnt concern us. Let these people talk it out nicely in private.
