  1. There is a such thing as a fluke loss. A team can lose even when the other team doesn't outplay them. Oakland is a prime case of this. Cookeville didn't outplay them-- Oakland didn't play to it's potential. Fluke is defined as "a stroke of luck". It was Cookeville's "stroke of luck" that Oakland didn't play to it's potential that night. And by winning 27 of 28 games so far, one can say that the one Patriot loss was a "stroke of luck" for the opposing team. Sorry for getting off the subject rhs man just thought i should throw my opinion in there. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  2. Great game tonight PATS! I think every starter had a hit except Fisher but everyone, including him and the PH McGowan, got on base at least once. Complete game tonight by Oakland and hopefully they can keep it up in their tourney this weekend!
  3. Rained Out. Rescheduled for tomorrow night 6:30 at Riverdale.
  4. Congrats to Oakland. Talked to some of the guys on the team this afternoon and they said Scott Ward pitched. I think last night was just his 2nd appearance of the year (his first was in relief in the Warrior Classic Championship Game). But if he wasn't all that great last night why did farragut only score one run against him?
  5. I doubt it. I remember they threw to both of them last year and each struggled.
  6. Way to go PATS!!! 17-0 BABY /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  7. After seeing the scores from this weekend's tourney i can't see Farragut winning 20 in a row after going 1-3 here in the boro. Sorry Wiz
  8. Hey guys sorry for the week long absence it's taken me this long to get over panama spring break /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> but thankfully i made it out to the game today to see an AMAZING comeback by the Pats and then total domination of the title game. And word around the ballpark today was that smyrna plays mt juliet tomorrow (i'm sure they've got other disctrict games later this week too) so i suppose smyrna decided they needed to keep whatever pitching they had left in case Gray runs out of juice tomorrow night.
  9. The Midstate poll is in today's Tennessean...guess who's number 1 /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  10. Well I just got back to my room in panama for spring break /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> and i've got a voicemail saying Oakland won 5-2. I don't have much details just that Dodd went yard and Burnett pitched a heck of a game. I believe thats an 8-0 record for the Pats!
  11. That doesn't have anything to do with deciding whether last night was a great game or not. It has nothing to do with the toughness of the tourney. It's all about the 2 teams playing and competing and the intensity and energy and the back-and-forth rollercoaster of a game. Don't get me wrong i agree about last year's game it was amazing but this one was right up there with it Allen's game-tying free throws with 6 seconds left in regulation and 4 point play in the first overtime were nothing short of PHENOMINAL.
  12. What an amazing game. Looks like Clarksville just ran out of gas. Sorry to all those cocky Clarksville fans too bad you can't celebrate this win. But congrats to the Clarksville team you had a great year and congrats Maryville-- looks like you'll have a strong team coming back next season too.
  13. They'll do fine if they continue to produce players like they had this year.
  14. Oakland defeated Shelbyville 18-10 this morning and then rallied to beat Clarksville 8-7 in 9 innings to move their overall record to 6-0. OHS was down 7-2 in the 6th and 7-4 in the 7th. Parsley with the GW hit. Dodd and Barnes hit HR's in the first game. Barnes has 4 HR's in 6 games.
  15. Allen hit unbelievable 3's in the first 2 ot's so i'm sure he was feeling it and kept shooting them...he's the sole reason oakland was even close so ya can't blame him for continuing to stroke it from outside.
  16. I'd call 2005 choking because the lone senior starter on the team shot 3-20 in the tournament /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  17. hmmm i heard the score was like 105-45 or so /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> oh well either way oakland won big
  18. Oakland is still missing polk and some of their other everyday players i believe...maybe this would have made a difference in the game
  19. Oakland and Clarksville are on the same side of the bracket so they would have to play in the state semi's not the finals...and White Co last won the state in 1999 not 1989.
  20. I was standing in the first row of King's Mafia last night (floor level) and there is absoulutely no way Puckett or Duke is over 6'4''. Blissard and Allen are 6'5'' and neither Puckett or Duke is taller or of equal height to our two guys. I'd say they're 6'4'' just like JJ.
  21. Siegel fans don't have to go see Shelbyville if they don't want to. And they are more than welcome to sit with us and help support their fellow murfreesboro school...Oakland will take as many fans as we can get!
  22. I haven't been bragging about how great Oakland has done have I? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> You've been boasting about Siegel so i just wanted to know who all they played
  23. Took the words right out of my mouth...Oakland's offense has come and gone all year but the one constant has been great defense. Shelbyville should put up a good fight but in the end Oakland's talent and leadership should show and lead the Pats to a 12 point win.
