  1. Who was out tonight? Also who was nicked up tonight? They will have to block better next week or I'm afraid their run may come to an end. Milan is very motivated to stop Alcoa.
  2. Based on Alcoa's scouting, I believe WE will see the Cougars in the Boro once again. No offense to the Milan crew but I will put my money on Goodpasture..............and yes, Alcoa scouts have driven to Gibson County to see Milan in person for what it's worth. Good luck to both regardless of the outcome.
  3. Tom the one thing that does concern me is the injury situation. I read where Tyler banged up his shoulder. Also Warren and N. Robinson are banged up. Will they be ready to go? Seems like the offensive line is not playing together as of now. I honestly blame the weak schedule/mercy rule for this. They do not get enough reps. Hopefully this will change this week. Thanks for your comments.
  4. NO. Maryville has way too much depth for Greeneville to handle. My prediction is 35-0 Maryville. By the way, is the Quarles kid for Greeneville related to George? Just curious as it wouldn't surprise me since George is from Jeff County. I hope Greeneville plays well but I don't see it. I of course saw Maryville early against Alcoa and I also saw South earlier this season. Maryville would manhandle South just as last year based on what I saw. Maryville just plays at a different level than teams in the Tri Cities IMHO. However I'm looking forward to seeing the game as I'm glad we have a Thanksgiving game for once in the Tri Cities area. Good Luck......you will need it!
  5. I would like some feedback from you guys who saw the game. I talked to someone there who said Alcoa didn't block very well tonight. Are we for sure the game against MC is at Alcoa.
  6. Where will the Maryville game be played? The Maryville folks are saying it is at Greeneville.
  7. Congrats but are you sure the game is at Alcoa?
  8. You shouldn't be. These teams up here do not see good football so when the playoffs roll around they are prime to fall. Graham used to get it right when the Tribe would schedule MBA, etc. Oak Ridge is not like they used to be so this isn't a real look either. I watched the game at Science Hill last week with one of DB's player's Dad and we both agreed it will be even worse next year with this realignment. Now Science Hill and DB will have to play most of their games in the Tri Cities which does nothing to prepare them. The speed of the game is much faster in the Knoxville area south. By the way, it won't be any better for Sullivan South either when they face Maryville if they make it that far. I have seen both teams live this year and it won't be any different from last year.
  9. Are you comparing to Gibson County???????? Please.........Alcoa HAS the highest paid teachers in the state along with Maryville.
  10. Man I don't know about that. I lived in the Boro for years (next to Coach Crawford) and i just don't see it. I think parity has hurt all of the schools in Rutherford County. But I will defer to you since I haven't lived there in years. Just know what I saw this year and it was kind of sad....not the same team from years gone by. But I can honestly say Oakland is not the same either, at least Marty's good teams in the late 90's. JMHO
  11. Have you seen Alcoa this year? I have seen Riverdale this year and I can honestly say there is no comparison between the two schools talent wise. Maybe in the OLD days but not now. Alcoa is stronger up front than Riverdale and honestly they look to be deeper talent wise. Speed wise there is no comparison.
  12. Good points. I was disappointed with Graham's scheme on offense. He helps the defense time and time again with calls that leave you scratching your head. It is almost like he starts thinking about it way too much instead of utilizing your strengths which are isolation plays to number 32. The option is a favor to teams with decent team speed on defense like Science Hill. The biggest difference I noticed with this year's DB Team is that they do not have the team speed the used to have. Again I emphasize team speed not individual speed. Honestly on offense the QB's wheels are the biggest speed threat I saw last night. Great game though. I hope both teams do well for the Tri Cities Region in the playoffs.
  13. Did you mean at the half?................34-0
  14. Thanks------have fun tonight. I will watch on my laptop. Thank goodness for Truth Radio. I honestly like high school sports much better than following UT. I went to the Ut game at Auburn two weeks ago and I have promised myself I'm done with that "stuff." As I get older, I remember how much I enjoyed the high school rivalries and how they affected me and shaped me to where I am today. Seeing my children mature draws me nearer to the purest form of competative sports and their lasting affects. Thank goodness my kids are better than their "old man!"
  15. I honestly don't think there are hard feelings. It has been a nice, healthy rivalry. Your coaches would probably like to have the "film" thing to do over I'm sure, but Rankin and staff have no hard feelings. They welcome a challenge and are excited to play someone that is striving to get better as a program. However you are flattering yourself with the "money thing" statement. Alcoa has many families that COULD choose to send their sons and daughters to CAK, not all of course, but many. Your tuition is very affordable in my opinion............a "money thing" would be one of the schools on West End in Nashville sir. I don't think the "money thing" should enter into the discussion especially at a school like yours that has a MISSION that would never mention the "money thing." Before you attack me, I feel qualified to say this as an Alcoa Alum who sends his children to a school almost identical to yours but in another part of the state.
  16. Is Stanton in charge of the Learn Center?
  17. I agree.......it is becoming apparent that the kids are starting to believe, and I agree, they are bigger and faster.
  18. Alcoa 49 to 0 at the half....it was 35 to 0 in the 1st quarter.
  19. "if it comes down to coaching" is that the consensus to those around the program? Not trying to get anything started at all because I went to the South game and left a halftime Friday scratching my head. I was shocked to see the outcome------and I am VERY happy for the kids. Some of the tactics/schemes are strange to say the least. Just curious....thanks
  20. I am sure the recruiting process will start picking up especially since Tyler is only a JR. I am sure Fulmer will have to look at the film to make a determination before it's too late........ /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  21. 28-3 Final. Incredibly boring game honestly. Alcoa ran 3 plays all night: Fullback trap, Tailback Isolatoin/wham and the sweep. I think they threw it twice, both for TD's in the first half. I really thought White House would be better but they didn't move the ball until the last drive against Alcoa's Sophomores. Yes, we did put in the starters at inside the 20 to stop a TD. White House decided to kick a FG with two seconds. I am not sure they made across mid field until the last drive and that as the result of field position after a punt. The conditions looked terrible. Good Night.
  22. What time does this game start. I know it's CST. Is it being streamed on Truth Radio?
