  1. Yes I know......their band must have over 250 members, NO Joke! They play non-stop, the entire game from their end zone seats. Also, there is tailgating in the surrounding parking lots before the games. Unbelievable really. Ask WacoJacko how great he thinks they are /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  2. Rigger I played at Alcoa in the early 80's and lived and worked in the Boro from 88 to 95 so I got to see Gary and others build the Warrior Program. Heck Coach Crawford, Brentwood's Coach, was my neighbor. I have tremendous respect for Middle Tenn Football. I love High School Football. I have been to games at Lincoln County, Lebanon, Brentwood Academy, Tullahoma, Manchester, Marion County and I have been to more than a few Riverdale/Oakland games when it was played at MTSU. My experience also involves DB games as I have lived in Johnson City since 95. In framing this argument, NOTHING compares to Blount County Football. The shear excitement and preparation by the coaches and players is something else. As far as atmosphere (gulp I can't believe I'm going to say this) the atmosphere at DB games which includes their band is the best. I don't think anyone in Middle Tenn has an idea what it's like. Great Post and I couldn't agree more. A 2nd Team of Blount County Football Players would win the toughest 5a Region in the Nashville area.
  3. Does Marsh coach at Clinton? Does he teach /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  4. It was odd to see him standing in the corner of the endzone by himself if he is who I think he is.
  5. Fair enough but I still say next year will be Alcoa's best chance and if it doesn't happen then, I'm not sure it will happen again to be honest.
  6. Brentwood Academy would needs to schedule Maryville and Alcoa every year!!!! You should have gone last night. I would have met you and you could have stayed at my parent's home. By the way, your brother in law's parents will be in town Monday and he was crushed to miss the game. You would have had a blast I'm seroius.
  7. Everyone around me was confused about the 20-yard deal as well.
  8. I agree........he must have a family member that has been struck out too many times by the kid in baseball /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. You are old NO doubt! You should have been at a real game last night. Ensworth....you have got to be kidding me. Are you hanging out on Hwy 100 now? Was Ricky at BA in the early 80's? I'll give you a call this week.
  10. Great post. Maryville has a great program and so does Alcoa. I honestly didn't realize how young Alcoa is. Rebelron had said the two following years will be Alcoa's best chance and I agree with him after seeing it in person. Coach Rankin did the best thing possible like night in my opinion and kept us in the game when quite honestly we made a few too many mistakes. He has brought us such a steady, classy way that we used to not have even when we beat the Rebels. The kids absolutely WILL NOT fold and that is a credit to Gary IMHO. I think things look very bright the next 3-years. The line has a bunch to build on and is very, very young. Yes, I feel sorry for White House as well. Congrats to Maryville and Coach Quarles and staff are nothing but class.
  11. Sounds like a dislocation. Hope he recovers quickly. Saw our fullback do it in a scrimage against Chatt Baylor in 1983. Worst looking site I have ever seen........not for one with a weak stomach.
  12. You are kidding? How did he do that? Any other injuries.
  13. The only injury I know about is Austin Tallent. Have you heard of others? He may be cleared to play. Anyone else know?
  14. Insecure I guess. But I know, I know......best High School Football tradition that the rest of the state has never heard about. I agree though, it is interesting to watch them show up on other threads. Just desperate for the rest of Upper East Tennessee to coronate them!
  15. I believe you have a "man crush" on Gilligan /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  16. Couple of questions re: new players: How is the Weatherly kid from Lenoir City progressing? The Kid that moved over from Heritage, name?, has to set out first 10 games, how is he doing? I believe he is a Soph with a lot of ability. Thanks for keeping us that live far away up to date.
  17. How bad is Austin Talent's injury? Heard he hurt his knee. Any other injuries tonight? Was Maryville hiding players tonight against Seymour. I'm sure they will be ready for Alcoa, but I have heard they don't look the same on offense. Again, I do expect them to be be ready in two weeks though. GQ is too good not to have them ready.
  18. Must have been bad. I look for William Blount to take DB in a couple of weeks.
  19. Take them one at a time starting with Spring Hill /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. Take them one at a time starting with Spring Hill /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. Didn't look good cause his focus is on baseball during the summer playing fior East Cobb, etc. Good athlete who COULD be a good QB but lack of practice this summer shows IMHO. I didn't realize some of the starters didn't play during the beginning. Were they in SS's dog house? Offense never gets any rhythm just like last year. Looks like they never can figure out what they want to do, kind of like "blowing in the wind, grasping for straws." I don't know, I really want them to have a nice season as to get some momentum going with the program.
  22. Great Report....any injuries to speak of? Sounds like Coach Rankin is really developing some depth.
