  1. If you want to get crazy! In 1982 Farragut beat Christian Brothers for the AAA State Championship. I believe. If TSSAA is to be trusted. CBHS won the runner-up losing 3-4. Farragut won the championship 4-3. It doesn't explicitly say they played, but, based on evidence, they did, and Farragut won.
  2. Farragut 7- '03 '04 '06 '08 '09 '10 '11 Christian Brothers 5- '00 '01 '05 '07 '11 they won in '97 FWIW.
  3. oh, THEFarragutU... I miss being on these boards all the time.
  4. I swear I posted in here. maybe i didn't. or it got deleted. haters. Should be interesting to see how Farragut does this year with Xander out and Pfeifer and Delmonico gone. Curious as to why ESPN has Jeff Co ranked like 33rd? anyone got anything on them?
  5. What were johnson's final rushing stats for Farragut? last I remembered when listening he was near 200 I think? I just feel like he doesn't touch the ball enough sometimes.
  6. // plus, just from listening to most of the 2nd half on the radio, it sounded like Farragut just let the game slip away. 3 fumbles, 2 in the first 3 drives of the 2nd half I believe, both inside their own 30 I think... I mean, come on. that's an easy way to blow a lead.. allowing 2 80yd td runs with missed tackling.. Sometimes I just don't get this team. Haven't for years.
  7. DB people in a Farragut thread, not arguing with Farragut people? Thanks OR. I love football season.... Also, as a Farragut fan, I am quite surprised Farragut has beaten OR 6 times in a row. I don't think anyone thought that would be possible. Especially not the way things had been going for awhile there. Being in Iderho it's pretty hard to watch these games, hopefully I get catch a few. Maybe I'll go to a random H.S. game on the blue turf and see what's up. Anyways. Congrats on the ADs for winning, I was rather shocked when I saw the final. Knowing that OR was ranked in the state poll and how they are usually a pretty tough match up, even in their down years, the ADs tend to struggle with them. Glad to see em pull out a win after a tough loss last week.
  8. thanks.. interesting to see it. I'm assuming that was a player and not a coach from Houston that ran out and first shoved the Briarcrest player?
  9. I really don't think how many there were is his point.
  10. Actually it's 3 out of 6. the series is tied 3-3 so far, and I thought Pfeifer has only lost once this year to Maryville, not twice?
  11. I hope, whoever wins, their fans on here at least do so with class.. Farragutgrad.... and spillthebeans.. I have a feeling, it's just going to turn into an "i told you so" match....
  12. I was just meaning you and farragutgrad, but alright.
  13. that's debatable..any specific examples since you seem so certain? but what I meant was, i can't really comment on any games when I can't see them.
  14. I remember the 'good ole' days.. I'm not in high school anymore but I still try to be active. I still care about my Ads. I'm on here lurking on a regular basis, but being out of state sort of limits my ability to be a knowledgable poster. Maybe some of the students/fans just don't think coacht exists. I don't even remember how I heard about it, but I know most players in multiple sports knew about it because they would talk to me about what I said, and what not to say and stuff like that. but the players knowing it exists, doesn't mean the fans do, and like akula said, certain things can be fuel to the opponents fire, so they try to stay out of trouble with their coaches by not posting anything, so it's almost like it's a, we acknowledge it exists, but don't talk about thing. So the fans, have to search to find out about the site. You can't really just stumble on it. I can't imagine many high schoolers search for forums to talk about high school sports, but I feel like if they did know about it, they'd be much more likely to want to talk high school sports. I remember getting banned for my language after Farragut lost a game to Bearden. Fun times. Maybe it'll pick back up.....
  15. I just feel like your argument has no basis. I've pointed out that Farragut has won even on a down year where they had 15 losses. So your simple logic of, people won't play there anymore and you stink without your best player... Is just ridiculous. That's like me saying, "well Soddy Daisy's bowling team isn't going to be any good anymore. Pretty much just because I said so. That's my only reasoning".. That's just dumb. At least have an actual argument please. Farragut has a good rec league for kids growing up and they have travel teams and all that stuff. I don't think Pharr was the only reason people came to Farragut to play baseball. Winning has an impact on that too. If they keep winning, kids will keep playing. Even if they don't win state, they're still going to be one of the best teams in the knoxville area most of the time..
  16. I think you don't understand what a sports dynasty is. It doesn't end because of 1 year. It's over a span of years. Like I pointed out. Sure, Farragut didn't win in '05 or '07.. But the 'dynasty', one could argue, runs from 1999-now... Runner-up in '99, '01, '02... fyi. Simply, not winning 1 season doesn't mean they will be garbage forever. You're right, scores have been close, but then again, it is high school sports. Anything can happen. It's baseball, with as many games that are played teams are bound to lose. Like I pointed out, in '06 Farragut won with like 15 losses. Losing and playing close games doesn't mean anything as long as you win the ones that count. Something Farragut has clearly done in the past. Science Hill is arguably the best/2nd best team in East Tennessee. Phil didn't pitch against them in the 2 games so far. Farragut's won by 11 and lost by 2. Clearly Farragut can compete against teams without him. We had a 'no name' pitcher go pitch for pitch with one of the best in the state, who is supposed to be a first round draft pick. Sure we lost, but a few more timely hits and Farragut could have won. The point is, I just really think you don't understand what you are talking about. Have you pointed out what Soddy has done? ever? They won in 1977.. but other than that? If Soddy is so superior to Farragut I, and I'm sure plenty of other people, would like you to at least provide some actual reasoning and not an opinion.
  17. you actually did it! ahahaha. Anyways, so, exactly how is "FU" going down? Pretty sure Phil hasn't thrown 10,000 innings... Why exactly is Soddy Daisy soooooo much better? What have they done? Remember after '04? Farragut was just supposed to be garbage. '05, sure they didn't win state.. the next year they were supposed to be just as 'bad'. No one gave them a shot. They won the title with the most losses ever, i believe. After that, no one expected anything of them, and they lost in district for the first time in like over a decade. Actually, I believe that was the first year they hadn't been to state in a decade, or close to it. Just losing key players doesn't mean Farragut is going to be trash. Phil has played like 5 games this season. Without him, they are 23-5. That's not too bad for a team, that apparently according to you, is garbage without him. I mean, you can say the "dynasty" will end all you want, and think Soddy would trounce Farragut all you want, but, just thinking it doesn't make it happen. I'm not saying Farragut is going to be the best team in the state next year, or the year after, but considering you're only reasoning for saying their run is over, is basically, "all good things come to an end"... wow! that's some real Nostradamus stuff there.
  18. You tell us that you're jealous of us, then say you're better than us? Who exactly is ending "FU"? Who is the team stepping up? Soddy Daisy? Even if they get lucky and win a championship in the next 5 years, that doesn't mean they are the new dynasty in the state. Get out of here with your ridiculousness. I almost want you to try and argue so I can have another page after page after page argument like I did with DB fans a few years ago. Actually, just start a thread about it, so we don't completely take this one off topic.
  19. Thanks, I knew it was definitely in the '00s.. I would have thought this would be a more talked about topic? Maybe people are just tired of hearing about FHS/BHS.
