  1. I think most of us are saying that now.. and did 24hrs later.. let alone 3 months from now.
  2. Hey now, don't go holdin adults accountable. Them kids knew the consequences. They're supposed to stay calm and composed under pressure and assault.
  3. All are to blame ultimately. To put it all on 12 is ridiculous
  4. Or you know. Down 13 don't continue to harass a player after the whistle. Your logic needs to go both ways
  5. Rough way to go. Not surprised by the ruling. Pretty unfortunate all the way around. BackwardsK can pretend it's all 12s fault but lets be real. Ref calls a foul quicker and WB doesn't continue harassing him and none of it happens either.
  6. I'm sure they were super similar situations. /s
  7. There we go. That's what I'm looking for. People just keep saying "but they left the bench" with no reference to the specific rule.
  8. I think you all are missing the point here. It is an arbitrary rule if only TSSAA decides and aren't consistent. Either the rule is "leaving the bench" or it isn't. Leaving the bench is leaving the bench regardless of the circumstances. Show me Farragut players coming off the bench and taking part in the scuffle. This entire situation should have been a double tech, maybe ejection on 12 for Farragut and 20 for WB and continue on with the game. It's pure incompetence on the refs.
  9. Players leave the bench and out to midcourt during a called timeout to celebrate all the time. It's arbitrary.
  10. Arbitrary in the sense of how far did they step. They didnt even engage the other team. To expect them to just sit in silence is insane. Is 1ft stepping off the bench? Is it 8ft? Who decides? You can have the rule all day, but not a single bench player got involved but is still punished for standing up and taking a step.
  11. Sounds terribly mismanaged by the officials and arbitrary "left the bench" rules. Especially to have not even gotten involved in the situation. Shame for Farragut. Not surprised with WB not seeming to care. Heard a WB fan was throwing stuff at Farragut players too. I know theres a woman on the WB broadcast screamin and yellin who knows what as if a h.s. scuffle was the end of the world. :/
  12. Weakest "fight" in h.s. basketball. The fact that the game was ended is a shame. Refs clearly lost control and had no idea what was happening. Not sure how you can toss 10 players for "leaving the bench" when they were already on the floor to begin with. Watching through the 4th quarter only you could tell it was a bit chippy already and there had already been a tech given to Farragut for retaliating to a no call. Seemed pretty obvious no bench players for Farragut got involved in the scuffle. The players left the bench during a dead ball and then didn't do anything.
  13. Glad this turned into a discussion on whether schools were county or city ignoring the blatant evidence that something is still amiss with the lack of call against Bearden. There's a ref standing right at the goalline who does nothing. That's a shame.
  14. It was a run, but any time I've ever read the rule I've never heard of it being only for passing plays, plus, based on the video he grabbed him and threw him by the facemask, so....
  15. Here is your video... Video longer, better? video (look top right) Bearden player appears to grab him and sling him by his facemask, but the ref just stares at them, the ref at the pylon right at the goalline doesn't even throw a flag during the entire situation, 2 other refs do. The back judge and a ref farther down the sideline on Farragut's side.
  16. Just watching from the Farragut broadcast you never see the flag for "language" so it just comes across as 2 refs throwing a flag for the same call and not realizing it so they just give it to him twice. Without ever seeing a 3rd flag for the unsportsmanlike it just seems off. Also, couldn't that have been defensive holding? They're 8yds off the line of scrimmage and he literally throws him to the ground. You can't grab and throw someone without holding them. edit: after watching again past just the initial flags from a slowed down video I saw, you see another ref hand a flag to the side judge who drops it, which I assume is the flag for him saying whatever he said.
  17. No. I think technically they were 5A, which is why they were in 5A. Based on the Super 32 realignment Farragut was booted from 6A. So, no they weren't 6A due to the Super 32. Based on enrollments Farragut was one of the larger schools in 5A, yes, but not "technically" 6A based on the predetermined alignments for the year. The only reason they moved back up to 6A was because TSSAA did away with the Super 32. edit: It's not like they were in the Super 32 and weaseled their way out. They had the 35th largest enrollment in 2016. TECHNICALLY still keeping them out of the Super 32. The TSSAA changed that by realizing the Super 32 was dumb and went back to a more evenly split alignment using the 2016 enrollment figures changing the Super 32 to 49. So the 2016 team was in an enrollment used to determine future 6A classification, yes, but then again, they were still 5A based on how the classification realignment. Either way, the 1700 figure for students at Farragut is vastly different than the 2100+ I was there with.
  18. coming into Tonight's game Farragut had missed like 1/3 of their XPs this season.
  19. That's straight crazy. I think Farragut's radio guy said 298 games. Insane.
  20. First time OR has been shut out since like 1993 right? At least I believe that was the case when Farragut almost shut them out in '06, but gave up the late TD. I didn't see any shut out since then?
  21. No? Farragut was 6A in 2013-14 and 2014-15 with over 1700 students. They redid the enrollments and started the new 32 6A mumbo, dropping Farragut to 5A in 2015-16 and 2016-17. 2014 numbers had Farragut at 1685. 3 schools also in 5A had more students. I guess if what you mean is when TSSAA went to the whole 32 6A teams things and Farragut having less than those schools made them 6A, but they stayed 5A due to the fact that they weren't in the top 32, then yeah I guess Farragut had 6A numbers but stayed 5A because of the new TSSAA alignments. I guess you can blame the "super 32" for Farragut being 5A, but it's not because they took enrollments from 2012 to make Farragut 5A in 2016. Farragut's number for 2017-2021 is 1734. A whopping increase of 49 students. There's 15 schools that would be in the new 6A with less students than Farragut. Remember though, they are increasing 6A from 32 to roughly 49 or 50 schools (that's 17 or 18). It wasn't luck of the enrollment draw, it was TSSAA changing the format. You're making it sound like Farragut had a 1500 enrollment in 2012 to go to 5A then jumped up to 1900 student's and never moved up because they change it every 4 years. You're forgetting that they re-evaluate enrollments every 2 years too to move some schools up or down. It was the big change of Super 32 for 15-16 16-17, instead of having all classes split evenly.
  22. Farragut lucking out with the "blocked into the ball" on that punt late in the 2nd.
  23. Maybe they should switch to Youtube like Rhea County.
  24. any reason Farragut took down all of the regular season game videos?
  25. Farragut radio guy had it about 16 to 14 in terms of penalties iirc. Yards were about the same, 115-130ish each. It wasn't one sided with all of the flags that's for sure. Just watch the game on Rhea's youtube. I didn't get to watch the end, so it will be nice to go watch the ending. Sad to hear how out of control it got, but honestly, it was on the verge last year too.
