  1. 8Ball...."South Doyle tied Farragut? What's up with that? Looking for responses from someone who saw the matchup." Farragut vs. South Doyle. both teams kinda moved the ball. Farragut forced SD to punt both times they had the ball and on Farragut's 1st posession they threw a int. and then they had the ball at the end and i think it was backup qb andrew martland(not like the paper says michael lawrence) threw a nice pass in the endzone but it was caught out of bounds. and Farragut just ran out of time. Farragut moved the ball well... i thought. just ran out of time. and had a not so great pass. Farraguts backup RB had 2 nice runs both for about 10-15yds each. didnt really get to see alot out of Andre Sterling. couple spin moves but that was about it. i think Farragut shoulda atleast won 7-0 maybe 14-0. but instead it was 0-0.
  2. bearden lost to fulton 6-0 i think and farragut tied south doyle 0-0. didnt really have an interest in the others.. nor the bearden game i was just glad they lost.
  3. ok page 4 is too far back we need to get back to page 1.. anything new?
  4. according to tssaa.org. ooltwah has 4 team state championships 1992 girls softball 1990 girls softball 1982 girls softball 1975 girls basketball. but 4 doesnt even get close to oak ridge(33) and farragut(27) i always knew the baseball team had it in em in 06. but yeah ooltewah get over yourself please.
  5. rigger i know exactly what ur talking about. i go to the games and i go to the school. the weak pep rallies before school is just a waste. it might get me ready for football at 8:15am but by 3:30pm i would never know there was a football game except for the players have jerseys on. i think it is sad that most ppl leave at halftime if farragut is winning. or losing. every game i went to last year i didnt leave early. even the oak ridge ones where it was freezin cold. i stood there and watch the game till the end. now i cant say the same for some other students. to me it seems like most students have "other" things to do. it seems to me that most students care more about football than the other sports but they dont care enough to go to every game and be there before the game starts amd stay at the game til the end but i think things are changing. and u act like all the students leave. the only time i can think of when most of the students left before the end of the game was oak ridge when it was like 39-0 or whatever the score was. i chose to forget it. i think most students dont show up til halftime because its free to get in. and they do "other" things before they get to the game. but yeah i think it is a lil ridiculous. but things will change as long as the team does well. i agree tg24. alcoa might get lucky a few times but they would never be able to play them and win on a regular basis like most ppl think.
  6. i completely agree about the situation and not playing other sports and what not. but we have school spirit. u cant expect 1,500 students to show up at every game. and have u been to the farragut vs. bearden games? there is a ton of school spirit there. and have u ever seen under the stands and on the side with the scoreboard. are you kidding. thers hundreds of kids over there. yeah not all in high school but the kids show up u have to know where they are. and with ur statement about the D-1 prospects.. how many D-1 signees have there been from Alcoa in the least 7 years? since aparently they have sooo many more than Farragut. once again. a D-1 prospect means nothing umless they go D-1. EDIT: actually lets just go with how many football signees of any kind has Alcoa had in the last 3 yrs.. or just how many signees of any sports have they had?
  7. i agree medman. but im not sure how much game film there was for central to watch alst year to learn about how farragut was handling the ball considering it was farraguts first game. yes towards the end of the 3rd it definately became one sided. i never said central didnt earn a win. i was jsut sayin its hard win with 6 turnovers. we had 2 qbs who in my opinion were inexperienced. and what experience they got from the 04 season was little in the passing game. but hopefully that will all change this year.. mlreb- whats so funny about the truth? jp25 is no liar. he knows.
  8. man i can still remember hearing the score of that game after farragut beat soddy daisy.. too bad we went on to lose 2 games @OR.. but we did beat ooltewah twice.
  9. i dunno if ooltweah will have it wrapped up but yes it will be a great game. still dont see how farragut beat ooltewah twice but could only manage 7pts in 2 games vs. oak ridge
  10. rigger.Of course no one shows up.. its homecoming. thats normally when u play the worst team every year. which means its a snooze. believe me im in high school. no on goes for the halftime like alot of the parents.most students go for the game(and other reasons..). and if its not gonna be a good game there is no point in going. btw u will see me at every single game this year. i will stand out dont worry. im sure that if looked at a Alcoa student Section vs. a Farragut one even with ppl not showing up and leaving we'd still have more kids. yes we are a bigger school. when i was at the oak ridge games last year i didnt see that many students. so i dont know where ur getting that they have more school spirit and more of them show up at. maryville maybe different i dunno though. i dont care for em. so uve only been watchin Farragut since 2000. amateur. and with ur fun little stats about Alcoa playing "good" teams and what not. did u ever once think its harder to win a state championship in 5A. probly not. im sure its not as hard as u think to win in 1A or 2A or even 3A. i guess the only way we would find out who would win between Farragut and Alcoa is if they play. but that will never happen. and once again im sure Alcoa could beat Farragut...1 out of every 30games. and with ur stats about Alcoa beating heritage.. im sure its not a big present for a 5A school getting to play a 2A. i wouldnt want to play that game. thats just dumb that that game should ever happen. make the 5A schools play 4A not 2A. in my opinion the schools just couldnt get into the game because they figured it was a waste of time to even play them. i would feel the same way. once again.. your logic is whack. Farragut is better than u think. jsut because they play their worst game of the year vs. oak ridge doesnt make them a bad team. they shoulda beat central last year. if anyone actually knew some of the stats they would know that. 6 turnovers for farragut.. hard for anyone to win with that. So farragut cant prove themselves they can win except vs. oak ridge? thats what ur saying. the only way the can prove themselves is if they beat OR.i think beating a team twice that beat at teh time 3 of the top 5 teams (Cookeville, Oak Ridge, DB,)in 5A is pretty good if not better than jsut beating oak ridge. and u say Alcoa has been beating 5A teams for years.. have u seen the teams they have played. WB and Heritage. wow Heritage.. one of the worst 5A teams in the state. and WB seems to be on the decline as well. once again its stupid that those games even take place. and im sure those teams thought it was worthless to play the game so they didnt show up to play and alcoa was like wow we get to play a 5A team lets win a prove we are good. then everyone realized they beat heritage and were like wow anyone can do that then the whole game was jsut waste of time, money, and a friday night.
  11. Alcoa only gets ranked high in state becasue they win. not because they could be the best. im sure Alcoa could beat Farragut 1 out of every 30 games. but there is no reason Alcoa should be ranked as high as they are. its just because they win. too bad those polls arent like college football.. usually in college football you have to be good to be ranked. not just win. Alcoa shouldnt be ranked higher than the 15th best 5A team. but whatever. they are just polls. i do agree with rigger though about all oak ridge really has to cheer about is football. if your gonna use the logic of they beat a team that beat a team.. Farragut beat Powell who won @McCallie who beat Brentwood Academy who beat Ravenwood... so i guess Farragut is just as good as or better than Alcoa. theres no need to assume everyone that goes to farragut is rich. learn what your talking about before you speak. and a D-1 prospect means nothing unless they actually go D-1.. but how many other "D-1" prospects has Alcoa had in other sports? and just because the parents of a kid in Alcoa are "blue collar" doesnt maek the kid a blue collar worker.. now does it. just like if a Farragut kids paretns are rich doesnt mean the kid himself is rich. some of your logic is just whack.
  12. Oak Ridge @ Farragut Farragut @ Ooltewah Bearden @ Farragut Maryville vs. Central Ooltewah @ Oak Ridge
  13. wow someone voted for campbell county. theyve been to the playoffs what once ever. they did get 2nd though when they made it. but lost in the 1st round. i say DB wins it.
  14. i heard that "we have 10+ players (dont know the exact amount) that have broken weight-lifting records for their positions and we just got back from a defensive camp in georgia where we did 3-a-days and we have 2-a-days coming up and i guarantee that there is no team in our region who had their entire defense go to a camp of that caliber. Farragut Admirals will be ready to play week 1 mark my word." thats what someone on the team told me. i also heard farragut lost to fulton in the passing league game today vs. fulton 34-24. but it was close.
  15. 2002(i think) Farragut vs. Bearden.. It started our current streak of 5 wins in a row against them.. but with less than a minute left Farragut was just trying to run the clock out and go into overtime but Michael Wright ran 70+ yds for TD to put farragut ahead 30-24.. farragut went on to win 30-24.
  16. really now.. what does he coach? offense? i heard they had a new coach but i dont really know anything else.
  17. anything happening with Farragut?
  18. thats crazy... farragut wouldnt drop down to 4A.. unless that new school finally gets built.. which im sure it wont be built by 2009.. but who knows.. farragut is one of the largest schools y would they move to 4A.. anyways.. i think 10 teams is jsut too much.. and i think its dumb to have a chmapionship game.. but thats my opinion.. im sure that wont happen.. guess we will have to find out.
  19. how do 2 people think that heritage will win... honestly i dont think the students that go to heritage think they can win the region
  20. yeah im sure the ref made the call he thought was right.. it took me a few times to notice that it was a fumble.. it was really close.. like a split second after the FHS guy stripped the ball the OR guys knee was down.. sp it was close and there was a fhs guy blocking the refs view of it a little.. but did u notice when farragut got a false start before gulmires 90+yd run? he called a personal foul but it never went to a 1st down? im not saying farragut really competed in the 1st game but it def. coulda been closer than 39-0 if they jsut coulda scored the 4 or 5 times they were inside the 20.. and 2 of them they were inside the 5 at one point.. and u gotta say that in the playoff game when it was 14-7 and farragut almost broke a punt for a TD they defl couda won the game.. and ur right.. it seems to me too that when farragut gets down by 10+ they just cnat do anything anymore.. i go to fhs so whoever else that goes there can prolly agre even if they do play football.. but when we get down.. i dont htink its that we give up but we just stop playing like we should.. but i dunno just my opinion.. and whoever said something about farragut losing to a 4A team.. that team was Knox Central and they(Central) had a hcanve to beat maryville but their qb threw the ball right to a maryville guy.. but Central is good and im sure ive said it before.. but farragut shoulda beat them.. its ahrd to win with 6 turnovers.. which farragut had.. and one of them got central in the game.. it was 10- farragut and fhs's rb fumbled the ball right to one of centrals best players and he ran it for a td. . so without that farragut easily woulda won that game.. cuz that play let central know they had a chance.. and in my opinion i dont think Alcoa woulda have a chance to beat Farragut.. no way... i know they win championships but i really doubt they could beat a sometimes average 5A team.. yes Farragut is sometimes average.. we have had some not so good season before.. but i think we have had enough .500+ season to make up for htem.. so i think farragut is a average team.. but Alcoa would have no chance at beating farragut.. i dont think farragut would lose to knox Catholic or Fulton like ppl think.. farragut is better than u give them credit... i think the only reason Alcoa almost gets close to having a chance against maryville is because its a rivalry game.. not because Alcoa is amazingly good. but all thats jsut my opinion..
  21. why does this topic keep going to maryville and oak ridge? theres a topic for maryville going to 5A and im sure there is a oak ridge topic.. i dont really mind the oak ridge stuff as muc hebcasue they are atleas in the same region.. but lets get rid of this maryville stuff and talk about farragut or atleast 5A region 2 stuff
  22. just because it seemed u didnt need them doesnt mean they werent. there was a play where farragut stripped the ball from an OR player and hte ref just looked at him like he was from another planet.. the refs called a personal foul on OR on after a 3rd down play by farragut.. but one play later it was ORs ball. how does that make sense. i thought person fouls were automatic 1st downs? then about 3 plays later SG had that 95yd TD run that basically broke farraguts back and the game wide open. farrgaut made it inside the redzone like 5imes and inside the 10 4 times... farragut just couldnt seem to score. basically it coulda and shoulda been alot closer than 39-0 or whatever it was..
