  1. I think they go and play for York. Not sure but I think thats right.
  2. Yes, I'm not from LA, but I know all that was true. It was absolutely rediculous when it happened I thought. Guess the ones who wanted him fired were not very partial to winning.... But glad to see he was put back in place. I like the style of ball they play up there @ LA. Good luck to them this year!
  3. I didn't say you said Cookeville was good. You just stated that Dunn doesn't play against any competition and I was showing you he and LA do. No way your district is the toughest in the state. Look around memphis and also east buddy. And I believe someone from the East won it in your class last year (Maryville). So don't think you guys are just in a tough district yea, it is tough, but it's definitly not the toughest. Usually a team from Memphis or Knoxville always wins it. In AA it has been Liberty Tech the last couple of years, and before them it was Bolivar and Mitchell and other teams from Memphis. But now I believe Liberty has moved up to AAA, and I would not doubt it to see them do very well AAA to.
  4. Cookeville probably would win year in and year out against those guys and like you said they should, they are bigger. But it would be competitive and It would not doubt me to see either one of those teams (Smith, York) beat Cookeville. As far as 3A goes, they would not beat Fulton, Knox Catholic, and teams like that. They would get prolly 4th or worse in LA's region I believe. Just my opinion tho. We could argue about this all day, but we will never know what could happen because they will never have a chance to play those classes mentioned.
  5. Let me start off by saying... you are crazy. I have read some of your post, and there is no way Cookeville (football) would wanna play in 3A. I don't think Cookeville could win at the 2A level in football. Well let me rephrase they would win until they got to Alcoa, Smith, York, Goodpasture, DCA, teams of that calibur, and whats this about about beating anyone in the state if they played like they should???? Go figure.... A couple of those teams you mentioned about Dunn playing in basketball have beaten your beloved Cavs last year and recently I believe, or at least played close. Dunn faces tougher competition than what you think. LA has a tough schedule. Loudon, CPA, Independence, Battle for the State Tourney, which always has really good teams. The mighty Cavs stacked their out of district schedule with some single and double A super powers. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. I'm not taking anything away from Clay because I have not seen them play, but SC is not very strong at the guard spot. If you can press, you will win. They just really don't have any ball handling. Once again I'm not trying to take away from Clay anytime you beat a team with a 6' 8'' girl as good as Kaci, you must have a pretty good team.
  7. What was the final in that game? Gordonsville played Ezell-Harding last night, and lost 69-65. GV played only 7 the whole game, two of those kids were freshman. The rest the team is still in football, actually 3 starters, with a couple bench players. I think once they get those boys back they could be pretty tough towards the end of the season. Ezell was at full strength I believe, so GV did a good job playing the way they did. Really great job Tigers. They got Goodpasture Thursday night. Good luck!!
  8. Gordonsville travels to Ezell-Harding tomorrow night for the first game of the season. Right now they only have 8 players. 2 are done for the season due to injuries, a third one is out till December after knee surgery, and 5 are still in football (1 starter and 2 that will play a lot). Ezell's football team struggled this year, so I assume they have had all their players for a while. How will this game shake-up? Can the Tigers stay on the floor with Ezell-Harding?
  9. Who has quit for the Bees?
  10. Gordonsvile and Clarkrange scrimmaged tonight. Clarkrange won 66-60. Both teams looked good and bad at times. From what I heard, both of these teams could battle for the top spots in their respective districts. Gordonsville still does not have their football players, and two starters are out for the season; one from ACL surgery and one with health issues. They are only Juniors so hopefully they will be back soon. Best of luck to everyone.
  11. Sorry to the DC faithful but i jus don't see them a major contender without Bass now. I think they will still be a tough team, and will definitly be top 4 most likely 3rd, with a possible upset of Upperman or LA maybe, but LA and Upperman are on another level than everyone else I think. DC would have challenged for that title with Bass I believe, but now it looks a little to far out of reach. I could be wrong though. Good luck to DC this season.
  12. Westmoreland I would say could give PC a run for their money and finish regional runner up. I think they could beat Clay, G-ville I think could be a possible regional finals team. They beat Clay at camp this summer, I know I know it is camp, and I know Clay has improved alot. I duon't really know much about any other teams in our district yet, but I think the only lock for a sub-state birth is Pickett Co. I'm not saying they will win the region, but I believe they will be in the finals. I think the rest is to close to say right now. G-ville plays Clay in a couple weeks and will not have football players so I suspect that could be a struggle. But who knows????

We will see. I say PC will win the district and will beat Clay at Clay. But Clay will finish 2nd in the district I believe. Good luck to all until you get to regionals! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Swanson I know what your talkin about. RBS jr. high team was good last year, and I saw all those same boys playing alot at camp this summer and seemed to know what was going on just the only difference was freshman athletic ability against junior and senior athletic ability. They will be good in a couple years. Could upset someone this year if they go in over confident.

This is obviously a kid on here. Pickett went to a camp down in Chattanooga this year, and won every game I believe. They will be tough. Roddy was good, and will be greatly missed. but they will still be very good and in my opinion are the team to beat. But Clay Co. will be very tough this year as well. It will be a good battle in that district for 1st. Coach Edwards is a good coach, i dunno what happened 3 years ago but i doubt he will go and run up the score if thats what you have in mind. And don't say someone is plain pitiful. RBS is young, but they will improve alot over this year and in a couple years will be tough. You need to learn not to bash people or other teams so much... I think someone is a little biased, or just a Pickett County fan acting as a Clay Countian tryn to motivate some people. lol If i am not mistaken I think one of Pickett's ok players dropped 40 on your bulldogs last year, only getting outscored by their whole team by 6 points I believe. So if he's just ok, what do you think is good?
  15. LA will be the team to beat again, but I would not go as far to say, that the fight in this district is for 2nd. Upperman looked good at camp this summer when I saw them, and from what I heard, looked real good against AAA Lebanon in a scrimmage. Again I'm not coming out and saying they will beat LA b/c of what happened in the summer or in a scrimmage, but they will definitly not need to be looked over. They have a lot of young talent, and will be very tough. Good luck to all in 7AA this year
  16. I saw Westmoreland this summer and they looked prety good. I dunno much about this district yet and what everyone has coming back so I really can't say to much on what I think will play out. Heard H2O town will be pretty tough, and figure Friendship is always pretty good. Gordonsville has had some injuries that will make a little bit of a difference in their season, but I believe they can rebound from it, and still have a good year. I would say the team to beat is Westmoreland, but Good Luck Tigers!
  17. I would think Pickett County will have to be in there somewhere. They only lost one starter I believe. And the region will probably not be as tough. I think Clay will be pretty good and maybe challeneg PC. I think if Pickett can stay injury free they will be a tough team to beat. Prolly the team to beat in their district and region.
  18. I like: Upperman - 1st LA - 2nd York - 3rd Smith - 4th Cannon - 5th Macon - 6th Dekalb - 7th As usual Upperman and LA will battle it out for top. York will be waiting if either one slip up. Smith wins, b/c of Ferris, Cannon - I hope they do really well this year. Might could be a top 4 team possibly good luck! Macon and Dekalb, I dunno to much about. Good luck to 7AA this year.
  19. I'll say LA wins it, and Upperman comes in 2nd. With Dekalb losing Bass that will drop them down I believe.

  21. when will we be able to post schedules on the school team page?
  22. I don't think those 3 will make him bow down, but Jimmy Maynord, and the rest of his staff will.... SC - 35 TC - 0
  23. Imallin, great call. Thats pretty scarry. Kudos to SC, they are a great football team. I need to apologize for some of the things I said earlier. SC you have a great team and a great staff, Coach Maynord is one of the best as is the rest of his crew. You guys were a lot better than I thought or gave you credit for, you will do very well this season. The D for SC was as good as advertised. If GV got inside the 10, they were not gonna score. Cut out some SC turnovers and this game coulda been worse. GV guys you played hard and good. Just ran into a better team. Go out and get the rest of em this season. Good Luck to SC and GV the rest they year.
  24. Well, I'll have black socks on, and my boxers may be black, but thats about it lol.
  25. I believe if memory serves me right, it was the 3rd round playoff game. Could be wrong though. They must be a little worried about tonight though...
