  1. I love all of this anger from you White House fans today. It makes me feel great /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> At least in all of your hatred and anger that you don't have any reasons to be in your normal arrogant frame of minds today. YOU LOST TO PEARL COHN AGAIN......... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> How about them apples baggy, dandy, timmy, benjamin, and anyone of you other arrogant jerks that shot your mouths off all year long????? HAVE A GREAT BASKETBALL SEASON!!!! Has White House won a basketball game yet?????? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  2. Hillsboro gets all of the love in Metro/Nashville but it seems as if Maplewood & Pearl Cohn are still playing last time I checked. Interesting....... /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Hillsboro always falters late in the playoffs. The Burros lone state title came primarily because Maryville got shocked in the 2003 Semifinals by Morristown West. The Burros would have never beat Maryville that year either. YOU & I KNOW THAT TO BE TRUE!!!! Maryville owns Hillsboro /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Congrats to Maplewood. I hope boski talks so much smack this week that his fingers fall off /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. Maplewood is very good. Chris Simpson is a very good quarterback. He can beat teams with his arm as well as with his legs. The young man is simply an athlete. He is very polished at running the veer for the Panthers offense. On defense Maplewood is very big up front and they are PHYSICAL!!!! Their road to the state semifinals has been a tough one. They beat Kenwood, Clarksville, & Hillsboro. Two of those teams had gotten the better of Maplewood in the past but this year I KNEW IT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT STORY!!!! The Panthers are a good football team and they deserve to be here. Henry Co. better look out because they may get drilled on their own home field this week /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Maplewood: 28 Henry Co.: 7 How about Maplewood & Pearl Cohn still representing Metro/Nashville in the State Semifinals???????? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Deaunte Mason will seem like a lot better football play this year to Fulton compared to last year. For one he is not limping around all over the field this year with the ankle injury. Secondly he is a year more experienced than he was last year. Finally he is just a better all around football player this season. Last year the Pearl Cohn offense was "hit or miss" to say the least. It was all Gregory running the ball and then Mason throwing the ball deep to either R. Mason, Gupton, or Gordon. This year Deaunte's passing skills are more refined and he has good receivers again and can use them in more ways than to be "just athletes". On defense Pearl Cohn is better than they were last year. Griffin & Harris are a couple of beasts at linebacker. Johnson & Venoy are a couple of incredible athletes that can do multiple things. Knight & Collier are good corners who have the ability to play on an island. THE KEY IS THE PLAY OF THE LINEMEN!!!! Last year Fulton dominated PC up front in the trenches. That's what led to Rogan having a HUGE GAME and that's why PC could not run the ball to save themselves. This year Pearl Cohn has grown a ton up front over the course of the year. The Firebirds big guys must play physical football in order for them to win this game. Pearl Cohn: 20 Fulton: 14 I'D BE AMAZED IF WE SEE AN EXTRA POINT ATTEMPTED IN THIS GAME ALL NIGHT LONG /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Here is the reasoning behind the fake FG folks. At the time in the game WH was leading PC 7-6. It wasn't like PC was going to attempt a FG on their own to "potentially" win the game at that time. THEREFORE a 7-6 lead was the exact same thing as an 8-6, 9-6, 10-6, 11-6, & 12-6 game. Pearl Cohn would have had to score a second TD to have a shot at winning the game. A field goal would have been USELESS to the Blue Devils. The average football fan obviously doesn't know this as the thread indicates. By lining up and making it appear that you are kicking a FG I think it is a good plan and a good call by Porter. The only thing that made the play horrible was the pass that went right to the chest of #81 William Johnson. THAT WAS A HORRIBLE DECISION!!!! In that situation the player either has to run the ball, kick the ball down the sidelines (which he can do as long as he's still in the backfield), or THROW IT AWAY!!!! Do not throw the football to the best athlete on the field in a situation where he has a convoy set up right in front of him.
  6. Pearl Cohn also now holds the all-time series edge over White House 4 games to 3 games which is a stat that I am loving to point out to those who were talking all of that smack back in the preseason /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Basically 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT teams from Pearl Cohn High School have beaten what is basically THE EXACT SAME team from White House High School over the course of the last two Playoffs. Outside of #15 Mason, #2 Harris, #3 Griffin, #23 Knight, & #56 Osborne there is not 1 SINGLE PLAYER for Pearl Cohn that saw the field last year against White House. For White House when you look at the field you see #8 Parker, #1 Payne, #2 Payne, #55 Barrett, #69 Gaines, #85 Neal, #31 Allen, etc., etc., etc. WHITE HOUSE HAS NO EXCUSES OUTSIDE OF THE FACT THAT PEARL COHN'S LEADERS ARE BETTER THAN THEIRS ARE & THAT SHOWED ON THIS NIGHT!!!! Pearl Cohn had every opportunity in the world to fold it in in the first half. After the TD the Firebirds could have again folded it in when they missed the PAT. The Firebirds could have yet again folded it in following the fourth down stop of Mason at the goal line. Again the Firebirds could have folded it in following the long pass on the third down to start the fourth quarter. Finally the Firebirds could have folded it in following the first two plays inside the ten on what turned out to be the game winning drive. They could have easily said "here we go again" when White House pushed them backwards on first & goal and then on second & goal. THE WHOLE TIME THE PLAYMAKERS FOR PEARL COHN NEVER ONCE HIT THE PANIC BUTTON & THAT SAYS A TON ABOUT THE PLAYERS AND COACHES BECAUSE ABOUT 90-95% OF THE TEAMS IN THIS STATE WOULD HAVE EASILY FALTERED TONIGHT WHEN ALL OF THE BREAKS WERE GOING AGAINST THEM LIKE THEY WERE GOING AGAINST PCHS THROUGH 3.5 QUARTERS OF FOOTBALL. When Mason & Griffin (or as Station Camp called them "the 1 and a half players" for PC) took over the game late then there was really no answer that White House had. Not even Parker and all of his great catches and great ability could overcome Pearl Cohn on this cold frigid November night. Payne, Dixon, Greenwade, Gaines, etc. None of the players or coaches for White House had an answer. Even when it seemed like they had an answer THEN..........it was Dominique Harris who slammed the door shut on the House for this Fall.
  7. Okay folks HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!! It's the same preview as last year and it's going to eventually take place at the exact same sight as last year. Only difference from this year to last year will be that this year's game will not be the day following Thanksgiving. Turkey Day fell one week earlier than normal this year thanks to the fact that 11/1/07 was on a Thursday this year. NOW TO THE GAME......................... First off we should eliminate those who played last year before anyone brings that one to mind. On the Fulton Falcons side we'll go with #1 Humphrey, #6 Rogan, #21 Winters, #42 Mathis, #44 Gildner, #63 Johnson, #66 Reilly, #72 Higgins, #75 Simms, #77 Wiley-Gatewood, & #99 Hamilton. On the Pearl Cohn Firebirds side we'll go with #5 Mason, #17 Gupton, #83 Gordon, #45 Paye, #22 Gregory, #54 Hudgins, #53 Brown, #65 Smith, #74 Davidson, #42 Logan, #78 Curry, & #32 Horton (who missed the Fulton game last year due to injury). ANY TALK ABOUT ANY OF THESE PLAYERS IS NOT GOING TO HELP MATTERS IN THIS WEEK'S GAME BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL GONE OFF TO BIGGER & BETTER THINGS IN LIFE /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Fulton returns from that team #2 Tyson, #3 Cobb, #4 Smith, #5 Stinson, #9 Humphrey, #10 Blair, & #27 Stokes just to mention a few that I can recall. Pearl Cohn returns #15 Mason & #56 Osborne on offense and on defense they return #2 Harris, #3 Griffin, & #23 Knight. THE FALCONS RETURN MORE EXPERIENCE ON THE FIELD FROM THE GAME THAT TOOK PLACE IN NASHVILLE LAST NOVEMBER!!!!! A lot of those same players are going to be expected to be major factors in this one if either of these teams wants to go to the Blue Cross Bowl in two weeks. In last year's game Fulton won because they won the battle up front in the line of scrimmage and they also ran the football and stopped the run because of that. In Fulton's 26-12 win at Pearl Cohn last year Jock Stinson's TD pass on the screen at the very end of the third quarter proved to be the "back breaker" to the Firebirds hopes. #2 Tyson, #4 Smith, & #9 Humphrey will present major problems to the Firebirds on both offense at receiver and on defense in the secondary. Those guys can play. #27 Stokes is a stud at linebacker. On the Pearl Cohn side #15 Mason is a quarterback quite like Fulton has never seen this year (YES THAT INCLUDES MONTGOMERY FROM AE). In last year's game Mason was injured and his mobility was severely limited in the Firebirds loss. This year he is 100% and ready to go. Mason has a new set of receivers to throw the ball to but they are all good and can present problems. #17 Hathaway, #19 Collier, #23 Knight, #85 Venoy, #82 Cox, & #81 Johnson are all players who'll see action and likely see the ball coming their way on Friday night. On defense the Firebirds are very good. They play hard and will stick you. #3 Griffin & #2 Harris are two players that Fulton knows all about. They are studs. NOW WE KNOW WHO ARE PLAYERS THAT RETURN FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME & WHO THE PLAYERS ARE THAT ARE NOT GOING TO BE ON THE FIELD FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! What are some keys to this game and who will take the "rematch" this time around??????????????????? Buck Coatney's Falcons have won 3 out of 4 State Titles. Tony Brunetti's Firebirds have now reached the State Semifinals in each of his first two years as the PC head football coach.
  8. That my friend we certainly can agree 100% on as far as Timmy is concerned /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. I'll have to meet you there. I met several PC fans tonight and they are all great people. Mr. Pinder is a great man who does an outstanding job doing the P.A. System at the Firebirds home games. He was as loud along the fence at tonight's game even without the microphone and speakers /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  10. You'll soon hear the word from the county but in short I'll let you know that I am no longer broadcasting. I will be attending as many SHS games as possible this year. I wish them the very best!!!!
  11. Congrats to David Lipscomb on the BIG WIN tonight. Next week's trip to Memphis to play 8-3A #1 Seeded Mitchell should be quite interesting. I look for the Mustangs to play 4 GREAT QUARTERS of football in that one. Congrats to Bolivar on a great season!!!!!
  12. Fulton is in Knoxville and it's not a county school. I learned that myself just last year so don't worry. I'm not trying to make you look like an idiot at all. I was the idiot who'd always thought the same thing prior to last year. Or was it 2 years ago????? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I love the way that the Firebirds are playing. Pearl Cohn has allowed a total of 17-Points in four games since their bye week in the ninth week of the regular season. They are playing great defense right now. On offense a healthy Mason will make a difference. Anyone who saw Fulton-PC last year knew that Mason had one partially broken ankle and he limped all over the field all night in that game. This year he'll be heathly and that makes a great difference to the Firebirds offense.
  13. Congrats to Maplewood on the big win. Hillsboro sees another great season = NO STATE TITLE!!!!
  14. First Half Pearl Cohn received the football and got a first down on the opening play of the game but after that they punted and did virtually nothing except turn the football over for the remainder of the half. White House took the ball on the first series and ran it down PC's throat. Payne carried the load on the series. A huge third down pass completion set WH up at the two yard line. Greenwade punched it in from a yard out and the PAT gave White House a 7-0 lead. For the Firebirds the quarterback, Mason, was picked off twice in the first half. The Blue Devils offense wasn't great in the first half but their time consuming first series of the game proved to be the difference going into the intermission. Second Half White House got the ball coming out of the break but they went three and out on their first series and PC took over possession of the ball deep in their own territory. Mason took over on the ground on the series as he drove the ball down the field. He hit big passes to Venoy & Collier on the drive and later capped the drive himself on a one yard TD run. The PAT was no good and WH led 7-6. On the next series Howard Griffin blocked the WH punt and Pearl Cohn got the football deep in Blue Devils territory. Mason again drove the Firebirds HOWEVER this time the defense bowed up. WH inserted #'s 68 & 69 in the game down on the goal line and Pearl Cohn could not get the football into the end zone. White House stood tall and continued to lead 7-6 going into the final period. In the final quarter White House hit a huge pass to Parker on third down and 11 yards to go. This was followed by more first downs as White House looked to add to their lead. When the Firebirds defense finally stood tall they had held WH to what was going to be around a 40 yard FG attempt. Instead of kicking the FG the Blue Devils faked it. William Johnson picked off the FG for Pearl Cohn and returned it deep into WH territory. Mason came out and drove the offense down the field again by rushing it himself. The White House defense had stood talol again on the series inside the 10 yard line but following a timeout Pearl Cohn scored on a third down and goal play. Mason hit Johnson on a 9 yard pass and then the two connected again for the two point conversion. Pearl Cohn led 14-7. White House drove the ball back down the field on their next series. Parker caught just about everything Greenwade threw to him on the drive. In the end though the PC defense came up big as they stopped White House on fourth and 4 from inside the ten yard line. Pearl Cohn went three and out and White House got the ball back at the Firebirds 43 yard line with 40 seconds to go in the game. White House drove the ball all the way to the 21 yard line but in the end Dominique Harris sacked Greenwade with 10 seconds left on the clock. Time expired before WH could get another snap off and Pearl Cohn won 14-7. The Pearl Cohn Firebirds host Fulton next week in the state semifinals of the playoffs /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. Congrats to Pearl Cohn on the win. What can I say???? The Firebirds own White House in the playoffs. For a terrible coaching staff this bunch has done a great job. 2 Years = 2 Trips to the State Semifinals /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Great Job Coach Brunetti, Wilson, Harris, Davis, & Co. You guys have done a great job following the footsteps of a legendary coach like Maurice Fitzgerald and that could not have been an easy thing to do. Deaunte Mason started out horrible but late he made the plays to win the game for his football team. The Co-MVPs of this game are #3 Howard Griffin & #2 Dominique Harris. White House couldn't block either of them after the first series in which they scored the TD. As I stated on the other thread and as I also stated in the preseason REGION 4-3A BELONGS TO PEARL COHN!!!! The numbers do not lie folks. They have beaten White House through the first three years. Two of those years the wins came in the postseason. Pearl Cohn is 4-0 against Sycamore & Station Camp and have playoff wins against both of those teams in the playoffs. Pearl Cohn even owns a 2-1 edge over Greenbrier. Region 4-3A Goes Through the Pearl Cohn Firebirds!!!!!! Good Season White House. I believe White House will be the team to beat in Region 4-3A next season. They have a lot of those same players that were on the field tonight coming back next year. As for this season however the playoff experience is something that you just can't measure and Pearl Cohn has warriors who have been through those tough wars and that proved to be the KEY DIFFERENCE in tonight's game.
  16. Hey ruse?, I was wondering which game you'd be at tonight. I am going to the Pearl Cohn @ White House game this evening. The winner of that game will HOST the winner of this game here next week in the state semifinals. Come on over to the midstate next week to see that matchup and I'll be more than happy to meet you somewhere. Heck buddy I may even come off of the hip pocket and buy you dinner /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> On a personal note, I would love to see a Fulton @ Pearl Cohn REMATCH next week.
  17. If he's there 3 hrs. before kickoff today then we'll have to unthaw him prior to gametime /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  18. 77-58 was the final and Greene played GREAT scoring 37 points to lead the Indians. District 11-AA Games begin in one week next Friday evening (11/30/07) /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> How did Sycamore fare today against Hunters Lane?????? How will Harpeth fare today against Lexington???????????
  19. This region has been the same story every year. The team that has been picked to finish at #3 every preseason has been the team to go on and win the region title. In 2005 it was Greenbrier. In 2006 it was Pearl Cohn. In 2007 it was Station Camp. Predictions have proven to mean nothing as far as this region is concerned. Next season I believe we'll see the fourth different region title winner in as many years from this region. White House will be my pick to win the region in '08.
  20. Okay genius whatever makes you sleep better tonight /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  21. I figured that I'd just imply the rule so that people won't assume that they lost in this game (ON EITHER SIDE) because of a band playing during the pre-snap count of the quarterback(s).
  22. That's because I own you little boy /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. I agree with bison4 & TigerGuy on 4-3A & 5-3A for the 2007 high school football season. Region 6-3A has to be Coach Perry from Bolivar Central /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. Happy Thanksgiving to you too buddy as well as to all of the others on this website and out there across the state /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  25. It's not just a "band rule" it is an "artificial noise making device rule". The band is allowed to play after a score. The band is allowed to play during the process of a play taking place. The band is even allowed to play between plays. THE ONLY TIME THAT THE BAND IS NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY IS WHEN THE QUARTERBACK IS GOING THROUGH A SNAP COUNT!!!!! That is considered an "unfair" advantage and could cause a team to jump off-sides. Also though we must remember that the band is not the only means of an "artificial noise making device". Train horns, cowbells, cans or bottles with rock like substances in them, air horns that are commonly used during an outing on a boat on the lake, etc. are all considered as "artificial noise making devices". THEREFORE.............If Porter does decide to tell the official that the PC band is not allowed to play then he will also be told about other things that are considered as being "illegal" as well. The only noise makers should be voices (not over the PA System though), hands clapping, & feet stomping. Any other object is considered as an "artificial noise making device" and that my friend is NOT LEGAL /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
