  3. One would think with all the evidence showing that wrestling makes better football players it would be an easy sell. We haven't been able to get that buy in from football yet. We have 2 football players who wrestle.
  4. As has become the tradition at Tennessee High, it appears we will start each dual minus 12 or 18 due to forfeits--makes life much more exciting. Ha! It is exciting but unusual that we actually have more than 11 wrestlers this season but unfortunately instead of covering 14 were going to be 3 deep in certain areas. We're just hoping we don't have to take 2 buses. I don't see any harm in throwing out a line up, it will give you guys more to discuss. 106 - Nault/Willis/Walters 113 - Nelson 120 - 126 - McCray 132 - Pendley 138 - Fields/Saucier/Kelso 145 - Harter 152 - Ferguson/Bailey 160 - Rosenbaum/Stinchcomb 170 - 182 - Hurley 195 - Jenkins/Fields 220 - Moore 285 - Girls: 120 - Ford 140 - Worley 190 - Booher

  18. I would struggle to call Mt. Juliet a darkhorse, since they have performed very well this year. In state duals they took Tennessee High to the limit first round. They don't get a lot of "airtime" but they can be a solid top 5 team and could place at least six. I believe both MJ and Beech will be top 5. And given the opportunity, I'd take the 6 studs vs 14 average wrestlers every time.

  20. I predict 152 finals as best match. Rematch of last year's State 145 lbs 5 & 6.
  21. It was all about survival at that point. We are not blessed with a 25 man roster and don't have the luxury of JV wrestlers to insert. As a matter of fact we normally only cover 13 of the 14 classes, sometimes we were able to insert our lone JV kid and bump everyone to fill all 14. It was a hard pill to swallow, but once I knew we were beat, we had to shift our focus to getting into consolation finals. We couldn't take a chance on an injury. It's the same concept of forfeiting out after securing a win at State duals. This is our reality, last year we competed with 10/11 wrestlers, maybe not the best "show" sometimes when forfeits are involved but we have to make it work in the best interest of our team's goals.
