I didn't think this game would be as close as it has been in the past. The Cubs lost 7 players from last years club and had a coaching change. It will be a while for before he establishes his sytem.

I know like most people just because you get a letter doesn't mean anything. All schools send out tons of letters but only recruit a few. Coach Farmer is a Lipscomb guy and he will do well and Sycamore might get to the Sub-State but that is it. This is one of the toughest regions in Tn and I don't see anyone making it from this district. Harpath and Sycamore will battle for the top spot and the team that does not get upset during the year should win it. I see Harpath and Sycamore spliting home games then one of them needs to win the rest. This district is down this year so the rest are fighting for 3rd or less. Cheatham and Waverly lost so many due to graduation and Stewart is Stewart. MCHS is a one man show in Dunn. If some would play his left shoulder in the post he wouldn't get a shot off and Fairview is still a unknown. Should be an interesting year, so good luck to all teams.

Great win for the Hawks. The final is 60-35 in favor of Rossveiw. Neither team has a great record and are in the middle to bottom of 10AAA but it is good to get a win. We have played some solid programs early and after this tournament will host Hendersonville and go to Gallatin. The hawks played unselfish and are improving game by game. They have a new coach this year and he has turned around other programs in the past(boy's) and should do the same here. The Hawks play Kenwood on the 26th and this should be a tight game. A team that no one is paying attention to is MCHS. They are not the best in this district but they will not be an easy win either. They are much improved and will compete for that 3rd spot. Harpath and Cheatham should finish 1st and 2nd but the War Eagles and MCHS will battle all year for that 3rd spot. Stewart is just plain bad and Fairveiw is always physical and competive. Should be an interesting year

What coaches have a good reputation for building or rebuilding a progam? Rossview has a good one in Johnny Jackson. What does it take to make a program a soild program?

I know I don't look forward to seeing Cheatham coming to Rossview to play. The pressure they put on the ball gives every team they play fits.

Johnny Jackson has taken over the Rossview Girl's in 10 AAA coming from Cheatham County Boy's. Can he turn around this program like he did Clarksville Academy Boy's in mid 1990's and Cheatham Boy's. I think he can but it will take time. I can tell you one thing no matter the win or lose record they will play hard, compete and be prepared for every game.

I hate to see him go. He is a real nice guy and many of the games they lost were just by a few points. Wonder why he left?

I hope Waverly wins by 15. I don't respect Coach Wilson or his program.

It is pretty simple. The team that shoot's well, defends and takes care of the basketball will win. This is a must win game becuase if you lose you get Giles County and it is over. If Harpath loses tonight they are on the same side of the bracket as Giles and they will be out soon. The Cub's goal was win the district but the 3rd seed is alot better then finishing 2nd.

The cub's had a bad night shooting. They were 1 of 25 from three. They got any shot they wanted but just could not hit. Whoever can make shot's on friday will win.

Ricco Is the MVP

Mr Menees is an official so what he say's should be an official statment from the TSSAA. What he should have done is piont them to the rules. That way the Moreheads could read the rule and understand it for themself.

Ballbasher that is all that you are doing is bashing the Cubs. The girls dad talked to Gene Menees who is in charge of basketball before the season started. Mr. Menees told them all they had to do to transfer and be able to play. The problem is that what Mr. Menees told them and the rules as writen were not the same. You would think that the TSSAA would know there own rules.

Pierce had missed more then a week of practice becuase of rushing. That is why he is not on the team.

Waverly by 155!!

It was a close game in the first half. The Cubs only led by two and Portland hit 5 three's in that half. The Cub's turned up the "D" and Portland score 4 points in the 3rd and 5 points in the 4th. Cole Brink led with 19. He hit five of five from three and Smith had 15. Score was 61-32 i think but a the half it was 25-23 Cub's.

I can tell you how it will come out. In two weeks they will decide on all this and Ricco will get enough votes for MVP and Waverly's coach will be coach of the year. Not that I agree with it but most of the time the team that wins the regular season wins all the awards. MVP was once an award for the most valuable player but now it has developed where it goes to the most talented player overall. You take ricco off his team and they still win. That is the truth. You take Noel of his team and they don't win. that is the truth. Who is more valuable to there team?

It is all most here. The 3rd season is upon us. Everyone will be even and you just want to survive and advance. Waverly is the only team already in the region and there could be some major upsets i the first round.

It is up for grabs. Any of the top four could win. Waverly has struggled with Cheatham and Sycamore and this being at Stewart I don't think anyone can say who will win it. There should be some thrillers and I would not count out Stewart Count maybe up-setting someone in that first round game.

I don't think I have ever said anything about Noel playing college ball. I am sure he could play division II or III and maybe some NAIA. I think Noal is a pure shooter in high school but I don't know at the next level.

Where is Ricco going to school and play?Who has talked to him? I don't mean a letter in the mail becuase everyone gets those. I mean phone calls. If he is the MVP and all world he must have a school lined up.

All the Tennessean's stats are off by two games. Their scoring average, three pionters made, and overall win/loss records are short by the two games. The TSSAA has said that the Hall of Fame games count and I have call the Tennessean to let them know but yet the stats still fall two gamrs short. To some this may not be a big deal but I feel that a newspaper should try to be accurate.

The Tennessean stats are not up to date. They don't include the Hall of Fame games. These games are not exhibition they count. That comes from the TSSAA and I called the Tennessean to relay that information but they have not changed there stats.

I would have to admit I am selfish. I want Waverly to win out. Just becuase that would give the Cubs an advantage if a tie breaker is needed.Other then Sycamore winning friday I don't think anyone else can beat them before tournment time. Losing just two in the district will not help us, so I am hoping we can wrap up second which is a tough task. It should be a great tuornment in Dover. I know one thing the rim's down there are tight and what ever team is shooting well that week will take home the title.
