  1. The guy sittin behind you describing everything that happened, then what should have happened, on every play to his buddy.
  2. Just wanted give it up to the o-lines from both Riverdale and McCallie. Outstanding game from both units. There cant be 900 yards of total offense without these guys. For McCallie those young men are: Thomas Green...Josh Bain...Aaron Cook...Nick Yetter...Keith Myatt...Andrew Dann I wish I could name Riverdale's also cause they were beasts. Both teams will go far...right behind these young men.
  3. Props to Riverdale...great football team...need to work on the passing game and coaching decisions...hard nosed players...we guessed about 1000 fans for Riverdale...many many many more for McCallie Alcoa terrific team and program but zero scrubs got in that game last year their starters were laying on the field after a hard fought and well deserved win last year.
  4. McCallie great offense...Riverdale very good defense Riverdale very good offense...McCallie good defense Look for lots of offense McCallie 38...Riverdale 35
  5. McCallie only uses a tight end a couple of plays a game and Conney is the fullback this year, so they are alright there. Riverdale has a heck of qb themselves. He is fully capable of running their offense and taking it the distance on any play. I totally agree the line play will decide this game and probably dictate how both teams season goes as both teams are solid at the skill positions. Rodman my opinion dont miss this one. It should be a classic.
  6. Theyll play the game Friday to decide who wins. Im just on here to talk a little football. I doubt either one of us will have an impact on the outcome of the game.
  7. Gallatin and Sevier County were here for a week rotating practicing against each other each day. At the beginning they both handled our o-line, but by the end when Hixson came for a 4-way the line was doing much better. In the 4-way Gallatin tied us 1 to 1 and we beat Sevier and Hixson 3 to 0. In the jamboree we beat Red Bank 13-0 and in a game type scrimmage against Cleveland we won 20-14.
  8. Both the o-line and d-line were a big concern early for McCallie as 7 of 8 positions had to be replaced due to graduation, but the last 3 scrimmages and in the jamboree they have played very well. They are thin there and will have the same problem next year as 7 of 8 will be gone again. I was impressed with Riverdale's bigs and especially with the linebackers, but against Siegel I think most of the pressure on their q.b. came during blitzes. That is why the slight edge to McCallie, B.J. will find seems if left vacant by blitzing linebackers. However it could go the other way if Riverdale can get pressure on him. That is why this will be one of the best games of the year. Their both good teams dont underestimate either team.
  9. Having seen both teams play, I really dont see either team "blowing out" the other. I do expect there to be alot of offense in this one as both defenses have some weaknesses to work on. I give a slight edge to McCallie in this one just because they have run the same offense for a while and Riverdale appeared to have a few wrinkles to work out in the new system. In a game this close any mistake could cost you the game.
  10. McCallie is already playing Baylor and Columbia, S.C. at Finley and there may be a scheduling conflict or something. Besides there is nothing like 2 great teams gettin after each other on campus. I dont think there will be much sittin and watchin during this one. Just come enjoy some good football.
  11. McCallie has a beautiful, easy to get to campus with limited parking. Campus security will be there directing people to the best parking available. The players will have no problems as the field and facilities are top notch and thats what really matters. The fans may have a few complaints as the concessions and restrooms are limited. I would assume they will open the student activities center for more access to restrooms. The seating on the visitor side is about what your stadium has but the home side is about a third less. Come early though everyone I have talked to whose kid isnt playing somewhere else wants to see this one.
  12. Well I walked out of a restroom into the great outdoors at a game tonight and had to hold my breath till I got away from the smoke and smell. Besides it not being the best example for the kids.
  13. I would like to thank Velocity Sports and Frank Burke for an outstanding 2 days of high school football. It was an awesome venue and run well. The teams had time to warm up, plenty of parking, and plenty of seating and my understanding is all the monies taken in will be distributed to the schools equally.
  14. Red Bank and Baylor were both a surprise to me last night. Of the 2 Red Bank appeared to have room for improvement while Baylor looked to have alot of work to do. Cooper is a great back, but I think going both ways will make him less effective late in the game than he would be if you give him the ball 25 to 30 times fresh. I also think if your going to play Cooper both ways the quarterback is too good an athlete to not go both ways.
  15. Rhea...I like your top ten alot though I would swap Cleveland and Tyner. Not having seen Ooltewah yet I wont disagree with them being #1, just might make them and McCallie co #1s right now. After last night I would probably replace Red Bank and Baylor with Central and Soddy.
  16. Unfortunately all we have to go by this time of year is jamborees and scrimmages. Most teams do start their ones during these things and move down the depth chart as the other team does. True they may not have full game plans but you can evaluate teams in these situations just like their coaches are doing. That having been said Red Bank and Baylor did not live up to their billing, while Cleveland, Tyner, and McCallie did that and more tonight.
  17. Soddy 7 Central 0 Tyner 12 Hixson 0 Baylor 0 Brainerd 0 Cleveland 14 East Ridge 0 McCallie 13 Red Bank 0
  18. McCallie 13 Red Bank 0 Cleveland 14 East Ridge 0 Brainerd 0 Baylor 0 Tyner 14 Hixson 0 Soddy Daisy 7 Central 0 McCallie...Cleveland...Tyner looked like the real deal. Soddy...Central both looked good Baylor has alot to work on
  19. McCallie 1td...Gallatin 1td Sevier...Hixson I beleive was Hixson 2td Sevier 0 McCallie 3td...Sevier 1fg Sevier...Gallatin no info. McCallie 3td... Hixson 0 Gallatin...Hixson no info. After watching these teams all week I was very impressed with the quarterback play. Both Gallatin and Sevier's quarterbacks are very good athletes and leaders and in the end I think McCallie's Coleman proved why he is going to a big time program. All three defenses showed flashes of how good they could be this year. Hixson impressed me early but depth will be a problem I think.
  20. I think you are referring to Reggie Poindexter. A little undersized but cat quick, great change of direction, and improved his already fast 40 during track season. McCallie has another junior rb/receiver that Tennessee really liked during the 7 on 7 camp. Johnny Newman is a big punishing runner.
  21. McCallie and Gallatin mixed it up yesterday morning and from what I understand Gallatin had a little trouble in pass coverage. Sevier and McCallie went at it yesterday afternoon and both defenses held the offenses down pretty well. Gallatin and Sevier tied up this morning...no info. available. Gallatin and McCallie were canceled due to lightening tonight. Sevier and McCallie will try it in the morning.
  22. Gallatin and Sevier County are there now and Hixson will be there Tuesday evening @ 6:00 for a 4-way scrimmage.
  23. Sorry, looked at the schedule wrong. It will be Tuesday @ 6:00p.m. and it will be Hixson not Boyd that will be there.
  24. McCallie/Riverdale one of biggest in the state McCallie/Baylor big one in the area
